the stay was generally a Good experience. The day time staff provided very good help and advice but the overnight staff did not make my wake up call and almost caused me to miss my shuttle to the airport. This caused me to leave my experience with a bad taste in my mouth. This was a disasterous end to a initially very pleasant hotel stay.

It worked for what I needed it for. I only need a place to shower a rest my eyes for a few hours. Only thing that bothered me was the random long hairs I would find in plain view that didnt belong to me cause I dont have any hair. It was though Goldilocks had tried my pillow, the hair dryer and the shower. Other than that I could not complain.

I was a little unsure about booking the Clay hotel initially because I had already heard that many hotels close to south beach were lacking in cleanliness. Against my better judgement, I booked because it was a good deal. Although the location was great, the hotel was in terrible condition. The carpets in the hallway were taped together, there was a […] glade plugin in the wall that attempted to mask the mildew smell of the room, and the mattress was flat and covered with a quilt. Excellent location in South Beach. However, rooms were in a different building, and we had to lug all our luggage over a block, and then there was no elevator, so we had to lug the bags up a narrow staircase in a driving rain storm. There was a roach in and around the fridge and hair in the "clean" towels. The location is great and it has that boutique hotel feel, but the cleanliness leaves much to be desired.

Hotel location is great. It is spread across the entire block. So if you get room away from the Washington avenue then it sucks. Amenities are poor. This hotel is a hot spot only because of the location. It is very near to south beach and Lincoln road mall.

The hotel is extremly well located just a few couple of blocks from lincoln road. It is also in the Espanola Way a pretty nice place to hang out at night and have a wonderful meal. You will not regret to stay at this hotel. PS: It does not have pool or access to a beach club but the beach is just 3 blocks away

It was a small shady looking hotel set up. The location is nice but if you are in room 512, good luck with sleeping if you are there to sleep. Well myself and my boyfriend recently took a trip to Miami and stayed at The Clay Hotel. The second day we had a guy try to break in our room not once but twice threw the window. The first time I was alone and heard him taking the screen off opened the curtains and there he was he ran well I thought I went to the door to call for my boyfriend who was […] out smoking checked again and the idiot was on the roof tucking his face behind a pole. I ran out the room but before I got downstairs to the lobby my bf was coming up i tell him. Now I'm thinking by the time he checks hell be long gone NOOOOO the idiot was back at the window for the second time my bf chased him he got away.Once security as notified he was very helpful he lined all employees up because the guy was in in all black and there valet and restaurant employees wore all black he searched the building and around it our room was upgraded the next day.
