I think that the cost of our room was exceptional considering there was a single bed, a double bed, and they provided a pack and play for my daughter. We were steps away from the tower which was our main reason for the visit. The shower was one of the tiniest I've ever experienced and I live in Italy and travel often. The location of this hotel is excellent. It's a 2 minute walk to the Leaning Tower, and a 5 minute walk to a PAM supermarket and the Pisa S. Rosse train station (with trains to/from Florence). There is also a nearby bus stop so that you can visit Lucca. The hotel has FREE wifi cards I used with my iPad to Skype with friends. The breakfast was basic […] but filing, and you could smell the fresh croissants in the hallway when they arrived around 6 AM. If the hotel had charged me more, then I probably would have wanted fresh fruit and eggs or meat with breakfast; however, for the price, the yogurt and muesli and pate spread with toast was fine, and if you absolutely need meat, fruit, and cheese at breakfast, spend less than 5 Euros at the nearby PAM for some fresh provolone, apples, and salami. The bathroom and bed sheets were clean, and the men working at reception both in the evening when I arrived and when I left in the morning were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again if I visited Pisa on another trip to Italy. Read more

The hotel was renovated not too long ago, bathrooms, nicely painted room, but they do not believe in maintenance, the shower door has never been cleaned since the renovation, the seats in the diner area are stained, and a friend of mine met me at the hotel for lunch, and i was told by one of the staffers, that i cannot have any visitors in my room. […] I didn't think I was in a Convent, but that's how It felt. The place has potential, its very close to Piazza del Duomo, but there are other hotels even closer to it. I would stay with Hotel Roma every time I visited Pisa! It is easy to get to (directly across from the Leaning Tower's entrance), the service was wonderful, and the room was comfortable! Our included breakfast was typical of European breakfasts, but the coffee was made by hand (unlike many places that now use automated machines) and incredibly good! […] We only stayed for one night, but it left a great impression on us. We'd also really like to draw attention to the man who was at the front desk while we were staying there, who was incredibly informative, helpful, and nice. We would happily stay here every time we found ourselves in Pisa, and wish more hotels could be this pleasant to stay at. Read more

This hotel is right around the corner from the Tower of Pisa. Walking distance to everything, like tour busses. Nice restuarants very close. Not much English spoke here but enough to get by. Very helpful. Doesn't look like a great place from the outside, but actually quite adequate for tourists who don't need luxury.

Hotel was right across from the leaning tower and the museums. Could not have asked for a better. Took Lam Red (bus #2) bus back a forth from Pisa Centrale station. Bus runs approx every 20 minutes. Waking up in the morning with the view of the leaning tower and the baptistery of Pisa just outside your window is certainly a plus. Add to that the good service and the fact that the Pisa S Rossore station is just three blocks away and you have a very appealing option. The hotel is relatively new and located on a busy street just by the gateway to the Campo dei Miracoli, convenient for visiting, though away from the rest of the city. Parking is available at a nearby gas station for a small fee. If you are in Pisa just to see the Duomo and Torre, then Hotel Roma is fine. Great Hotel for the price, very very close to Pisa, you just walk out the hotel and cross the street. The hotel is good, clean hotel, no problems. The breakfast was just an European with breads and coffee, so you want something more, there is McDonald's down the road.

The receptionist was fantastic. He gave us great recommendations and advise. We went with his recommendations and were really good food! Very thoughtful advise on some dangerous areas to avoid. Huge rooms with nice view of the Leaning tower of Pisa. Bus stop from the train station is just outside of the hotel. Very convenient.

This hotel is very close to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and there is a bus stop very close by which will take you directly to the Airport in Pisa. Overall, very convenient location. However, there aren't many restaurants nearby. We only stayed one night, and were greeted by the receptionist, but he wanted to keep our passports overnight to register, […] which we declined. He didn't seem impressed that we wouldn't leave our passports with him overnight. The room was adequate, but there was a strange smell. The bathroom was very small, but clean. The hotel is very close to the leaning tower and cathedral etc,we could actually see the tower from our window.It is also right on a busy main road so is quite noisy if you have a room at the front like we did. Breakfast was fairly baisc compared to other hotels. There was no safe in our room and the left luggage facility means just leaving you bags […] etc in the lobby.Overall the hotel is clean/tidy and well maintained. Be aware that pick pockets operate in Pisa, my partner had her purse stolen on the bus back to the airport. hotel roma was reasonably convenient as I was flying home at 7 am. We were able to get something to eat closeby and visit the leaning tower and surrounding attractions (5 mins walk). The hotel itself I found a little strange. The "gentleman" who checked us in was anything but helpful in fact he could be more accurately described as plain rude. The location of the hotel was great - right next to the tower and on a bus route with a stop outside, but I wouldn't have wanted to have stayed for more than 1 night. When I book a single room I expect it to be small, but they can be done well - this really wasn't and overall it looked and felt neglected. A few other things - the shower cubicle was […] tiny, the tv didn't work and the bed was extremely hard which were all ok for my quick stopover but would have been unacceptable for a longer stay. Check in late and leave early (after breakfast which was ok and had great service from a lovely, very friendly lady) and don't expect too much for your money and you'll be alright. Otherwise book more than a couple of weeks ahead and hopefully they'll be more availability in Pisa for you than there was for me!! Read more

E.g. even in very basic hotels in the UK there are tea and coffee making facilities in the room but none in this hotel. Stayed at Hotel Roma for 1 night before travelling down to San Gimignano. Good location at start of tourist drag through Pisa - room had view of Leaning Tower... The Roma's main attraction is its excellent location, right opposite the main square with the Duomo and leaning tower and slap bang on the main bus route to the airport, which is about a 20 minute journey. This bus also takes you to the station if you are going to Florence or other places in about 10-15 mins. Some of the rooms at the front have terrific […] views of the Duomo/leaning tower, although they are above the road, making them a bit noisier. For the most part, you get what you paid for with the hardware. However, I wouldn't come here again simply because of POOR SERVICE. With our online booking, the hotel allowed 4 adults for 2 beds (1 single and one "king" bed). Not, 3 adults and a child - 4 adults. On top of that, I indicated in special notes that we were one couple and 2 singles. So, […] it seems obvious to me that the least they could have done is sent me a note book regarding my booking by A) refusing the booking or B) advising that they do not have a room with 3 beds and double checking that we still wanted the booking. When I brought this up with reception, they simply said: that's your problem, not ours. This I found off-putting as I looked through various listings and other bookings would not let me book for 4 adults unless it had at least 3 beds (2 singles, 1 double). Additionally, if 4 people were to stay in one room, the least they could do was give us four towels. When we requested this, he replied slightly exasperated, like we were a nuissance to him. On a separate incident, my friend requested the password for the free wifi. We booked only one night, but he berated her with "how long do you want? one hour, days - forever?" That was simply just rude In the end, even with the password, the wifi didn't work very well. Yes, you get what you paid for in the hardware (the room wasn't great but wasn't poor), but the experience of horrible service made the stay less valuable than what we paid for. Read more

It's a very nice hotel on a great location, the famous leaning tower is almost across the street and there's a trainstation about half a kilometer away from where you can go to for instance Lucca. The entrace of the hotel is nice as is the breakfast and the rooms itself. If you want a base to see the tower etc. then look no further. A few steps from the from entrance and you are there. The hotel is also right by the bus stop to get back to the train station. This is a very basic hotel but is clean and is in a fantastic location for the leaning tower. If you are needing to go to the airport t is also very convenient as the bus to the airport stops practically outside the hotel and is cheap. The hotel staff are helpful and friendly but the coffee is awful.
