Disappointed
I read reviews about Zermatt's customer service and thought that I wouldn't have any issues. I was mistaken. The other reviews hold true. The employees at the front desk were overall not helpful. The first night we got there, there was music playing outside our room loudly. I thought I could sleep through it, but at 3 in the morning I finally called the front desk. I explained everything and all I got was "engineering is supposed to be fixing the timing on the music". He didn't offer to do anything about it. The music didn't shut off until about 6 or 7 in the morning. The next day I asked a different employee at the front desk if there would be a problem with the music again at night to which she responded "there isn't any music playing right now". She was short with me and not understanding. Then around 9 in the evening, the music resumed playing. I was mad. I walked down to the desk and talked with the same lady from earlier in the day. I told her music was playing. Seeming to realize she was wrong about the situation, she called to engineering to have them shut if off. I gave them 30 minutes. The music resumed. I walked down again to have it shut off. 3 minutes later, the obnoxious music ceased. For this trouble and a lack of sleep the night before, I was offered nothing and wasn't provided even with the slightest sense of sympathy. I won't be returning.

very disappointed!
My family stayed at the Zermatt Resort with high expectations. My daughter had a softball tournament and we thought we'd stay in town, we live about an hour away, so she'd get more rest for the 8:00am game if we stayed there. First of all, I always look for a hotel with a refrigerator and a microwave. It saves time to microwave breakfast and we always have leftovers to refrigerate. It was advertised but no they weren't in the room. When we arrived at our room there was the last tenants leftover room service in front of our door. Three hours later it was still there! I had to call to have it removed. The worse part was the broken air conditioner. When we arrived our room was 79°. We set the AC to 68 but three hours later it was still 79°. We called and someone came to fix it. Before we went to bed it had gotten down to 77°. At 1:30am I woke up because of the heat. It was 81°! Needless to say we didn't sleep well. I let the front desk know of my problems and how disappointed I was with my stay but all they would do is refund my $15.00 resort fee. Big Whoop! Very very disappointed with everything about our stay at the Zermatt!

Memorial Day
I think the bed is broken in 215. It felt broken in the middle and when you sit on it, it felt like it snaps. Our rooms wasn't cleaned when they sent us to it. So they did upgrade us which was very nice. The service in the cafe was poor. The brought my husband's toast after we asked for it 3 times at the end of the meal. We had to ask for our check. That was disappointing. The hot tub was not working... when we called they said - oh yea that doesn't work, and we are going to paint it. Then a repair man walked by and said it should be working... the pool was busy with lots of kids and we wanted to sit in the hot tub. You should tell people when they check in that the hot tub isn't functioning and so we took 20$ off your bill or something. We played golf and wanted to hot tub after - it was disappointing. The banana bread at the front desk was great and we really appreciated having that snack available. The chop house was closed on Sunday - it was a holiday weekend, I was hoping to eat there... that would be nice to know at check in as well that you don't have a nice restaurant available on Sundays. We went over to Simon's and the food was way below par - service was great, but food was yucky.

Off-Season Zermatt
Pros: Clean. Comfortable bed, great WiFi. When room service didn't have items on their menu, they gave us some free pie. My wife loved the massage at the spa; therapist was very good. Hotel provided a portable crib for our infant without additional charge. Waitresses at in-house restaurant were very helpful and solicitous. Hotel staff seemed very bored, but nobody was rude. Cons: Though the resort was empty (off season, May), we got placed in a very small room that was alone in a fire escape corridor. Room description included robes and "large shower head", neither was present. TV was very small. Room service went to voicemail multiple times; it took 20 minutes for return call. Items on room service menu were not available.
