All rooms includeSan Marco (St Mark’s) is quintessential visitors’ Venice. The Piazza San Marco, famous for its pigeons, campanile, basilica, Palazzo Ducale (Doge’s Palace) and expensive cafes, is unmissable. The waterfront views are legendary and more gondolas depart from here than anywhere else in the city. In season the Piazza teems with day trippers though just a block or two away streets are quiet and offer more museums and palaces to explore.

Fantastic hotel, centrally located, very friendly staff. Only one minor fault that there were no tea/coffee facilities in the room but apart from that it was perfect.

Reviewed by K MO of USA on May 21, 2008
What a nice comfortable and convenient place to stay. The staff were determined to please and were a great resource for figuring out transportation, etc... The only disappointment is that the hotels.com site states this hotel had complimentary internet and shuttle service to the airport. Neither were true. We paid more to stay here so that our trip to the airport would be easy and free. Staff helped us figure it out, but we had to pay for transportation.

Reviewed by J Ca of Lincoln on Mar 14, 2008
Probably the friendliest hotel we have ever stayed in. We were given such a warm welcome and farewell that it seemed like we were staying in someone's home. The staff were also so helpful with all of our queries concerning Venice. The hotel itself is superbly located within easy stumbling distance of St Mark's Square and the Academia bridge, and from our room we could look down on one of the numerous canals. The rooms are beautifully decorated and appointed with all of the normal features apart from tea/coffee making facilities. The continental breakfast is very pleasant although it has to be said that the dining room is extremely 'cosy' - when busy it may be necessary to take your breakfast to another room on a tray. It should also be noted that there is no bar, although the normal mini-bar facilities are available i the room. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Becher and would strongly recommend it.

Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 8, 2009
Since Venice is expensive this hotel is a good value and conventiently located. But the decor is very outdated and if you are in a room on the canal side, very loud. But overall, it was a good experience and the people who run it were very helpful.

Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 7, 2009
My wife and I were on a whirlwind tour through Europe for two weeks. We arrived in Venice to a steady downpour. The train station in Venice is horrible compared to other stations in Europe and had no facilities to store our backpacks. We arrived at the Becher 5 hours before check in time and soaking wet.( The hotel is kinda hard to find but so is everything in Venice) The staff were extraordinary they first stored our bags as we attempted to explore Venice on a wet Sunday morning. Nothing was open so we came back early and after a few minutes we are able to check in nearly three hours early. The hotel ended up being the best part of our trip to Venice as it was well decorated, cozy, and again that staff was amazing. I would have gladly paid double the price for such consideration given the conditions.

Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jun 29, 2008
This hotel is absolutely lovely, with beautiful decor, great location and friendly owners. It is one of the main routes in the early evening for the gondolas, which come thru the small side canal that fronts the hotel. Absolutely charming. Owners speak english quite well and are very friendly and helpful. The location is absolutely perfect for getting around to all the major sites while still being in a quaint location on a small side street. The internet access is easy and the "continental breakfast" was wonderful! Pasteries as well as cereal, cheeses, salame. We did not want to leave! A plus is that you can take the water taxi directly to the front door, elminating having to drag our luggage down the streets as we saw so many others having to do. HIGHLY recommend!
