"Cries for maintenance/repair"
Not yet recovered from Sandy. But, many in-room issues that should be noticed by housekeeping and reported/fixed. Staff did not ask for suggestions, observations or feedback.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Pleasant one night stay"
Overall, a great experience for a night away. Because it was mid-week and off-season, it was extremely affordable. Ocean Grove is a cute town with many quaint shops. The updated room we stayed in did not advertise an ocean view and yet still had a small balcony where the ocean was visible.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, friendly staff, but an old hotel"
I stayed here for just one night after Easter and would recommend it with some caveats. Ocean Grove obviously is a beach town, and I stayed on a Monday night. Many stores and restaurants are closed on Monday and/or Tuesday, so I didn't get to see everything I would have liked. I love walking the beach but do not care to see people in bathing suits, […] so I went in April. It was perfect for me, and I would return in the Fall. The hotel is old, but in good condition. You won't find some of the fine details that are in more modern facilities, and some of the fixtures and appliances are old, but everything is in good working order. For the continental breakfast, you fill out your order the night before, and designate the time you'd like it. In the morning you go down to the dining area and the owner brings you your breakfast. So there's a personal touch, and the hotel doesn't waste money providing a lot of food that might go to waste. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Beautiful accommodations in a great setting. The staff was incredibly helpful. Will definitely be back.Genuine Expedia guest review
"This is the place to stay!!"
Welcoming, comfortable, clean, and charming....this and more. I used to live in the area before moving to SoCal so I knew of this B&B. When I planned to come to the area recently....I knew I would like to stay here. I have to say this beautiful place exceeded my expectations. The service was excellent. ...the owner is a sweetheart. ....what more can […] I say...except.......stay here when you visit. I am sure you will be exceedingly pleased. The hotel itself is beautiful but I would not go back. When we arrived the heat had not been turned in the room and it was freezing. The bathroom floor tile was even colder and stepping out of the shower onto the floor was not fun. I hope the AC works better in the summer. Perhaps they should not stay open in the winter.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I really loved this hotel. I enjoyed how personal the whole experience was; I was able to walk down the steps and speak with friendly staff at any time during the day. The only reason I didn't give it all 5's is because it is an old house and therefore has old house issues such as a squeaky sink and finicky shower. This is not a stereotypical hotel, […] but if you enjoy unique, you'll love it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A trip back in time...in a good way"
The Majestic is...well...a majestic old Victorian with a view of the Atlantic on a street of beautifully restored old houses. If this is your sort of thing, the Majestic is the perfect place for you (as it was for me). With any restored B&B, you need to be realistic...this won't be ideal for the traveler who needs everything new and fast -- The water […] never really got hot enough, but that is to be expected in an old hotel. Embrace the past - this place is fantastic. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The Majestic is a wonderful and friendly bed and breakfast. Jim was very attentive to our needs and we felt right at home. The house is gorgeous with many different views of the ocean, even though it's about a half a block inland. There is a beautiful sitting room at the top of the house as well as two porches you can sit on: one is located on the first […] level and another on the second level. The lobby is very welcoming and a nice place to eat your continental breakfast and read a newspaper. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A Wonderful short visit"
We recently spent 2nights at the Majestic Hotel. Absolutely no complaints, very close to the ocean and shopping, a very comfortable and spacious room, and a bonus...an onsite restaurant where we had a delicious dinner on the veranda. I would strongly recommend having at least one meal here during your stay. The staff was very helpful and pleasant.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A weekend to remember."
Our 3-night stay at the Majestic Hotel was very enjoyable with the personal qualities of a quaint Inn only steps away from the ocean and a about a 10-15 minute walk to Asbury Park. We enjoyed morning walks to the Barberic Bean coffee shop and boutique shopping only a block away. Although, continental breakfast at the hotel was delicious with many choices. The […] Innkeeper, Gavin was very courteous, friendly, professional and accommodating. We were fortunate to have stayed in the Penthouse Suite for 2 nights (pricey but beautiful) which was very comfortable, spacious, and contemporary. For our last night we moved to a smaller but lovely bright room with access to a large balcony. Both rooms had a jacuzzi, refrigerator, and microwave and were perfectly clean with quality bedding and linens. We would consider visiting.this property again without hesitation. "The Majestic in Ocean Grove"
I was promised in room internet access. My initial room did not have it. If i didn't have a printout of my reservation terms sent directly to me by Majestic staff the manager was not going to change my room for me. He offered me internet in the lobby. That was not exceptable to me. I had to argue twice and ask for a refund before my room was change […] d. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Majestic Hotel Ocean Grove - great getaway"
My wife and I stayed here for one brief night, but it was a great stay. The room was clean and comfortable, the view was fantastic. The hotel is conveniently located to the beach as well as local shops and eateries. Truly a treasure of the Jersey Shore!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Friendly and helpful staff. Hotel facade and lobby nicer than the room. Room was uncomfortably hot - AC at full blast didn't make much impact.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Can't fault it"
We had an excellent one night stay in a good looking and comfortable room with balcony. Staff were very friendly and told us about the local area. The hotel is close to the Main Street and beach, and a short walk from the restaurants in Asbury Park. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel, and thought it was good value.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location in a beautiful Victorian style hote"
Room was clean and the amenities good. The owner was very friendly and helpful and we shared our travel experiences which was a nice way to get to know each other. Would love to come back in summer and see what it is like walking along the boardwalk.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Dissappointed with lack of details..."
It was apparent upon arrival that this place was not detail oriented.dated and dusty decor.although it's a beach side b&b there was sand every where but the beach! Moldy shower curtain, torn bathrobes and noisey airconditioner.the continental breakfast was ok but the downstairs bathrooms diddn't even have soap!beds were comfortable but the staff was not warm and friendly.also the decor was confusing.the price was comparable but the owners should put a little money into updating the place.did i mention housekeeping wearing a budlight t shirt and they never came to make our beds when we stepped out for the day.they are missing the little details that make it extra special.we would not return.

We just returned from a long weekend at The Majestic. There are two good things about this hotel; one is the location a half block to the beach and the other is their restaurant "Bia". Other than that, not much else is positive. The hotel is very dated, and in need of serious refurbishments. Upon arrival, we were barely greeted(not even a "welcome to the Majestic") by the manager and given our key - the room was not at all like the photo on their website and the one window looked out at the house next door. The beds were terrible and although it had a kitchenette, there was one plate and no carafe for the coffee maker. We had dinner at Bia's on Friday night. The food is very good but the "dining room" is small and drab and lacks any atmosphere and, we weren't told that that there was a rehearsal dinner in the dining room the same night so while we were trying to enjoy our dinner, in came the rehearsal group of 20+ loud and noisy. The rehearsal dinner continued late into the evening and we had to complain about the noise since the dining room was right under our room. A continental breakfast was included which was just ok. When we checked out, the woman at the front desk didn't ask about our stay or even say 'thank you" for coming. The hotel staff seems to be in state of chaos and totally disorganized and not focused on their guests. Not an Inn we'll revisit!

The Majestic is a home away from home, very cozy and comfortable, our room was spotless with a beautiful view!!!!Had Dinner at Bia restaurant and it was perfect, everyone’s dish was unbelievable so happy we made the choice to eat there, the server was so friendly and made us feel so Welcome. Great Job to ALL!!!!!!
"Just what I needed"
Stopped here to rest after working overseas and it was just what I needed. Being off-season, I essentially had the place to myself and enjoyed the quiet and the VIP treatment. The hotel is 1/2 block from the beach and though it was rainy, I still was able to take a much longed for walk on the empty beach. The staff was very kind. I also found some fun retail therapy a couple of blocks in the other direction.

I grew up going to Ocean Grove during the summer. A few family members own homes they rent out so we've always rented from them. I was excited for a new experience & this was great! Complimentary breakfast was a nice surprise. We stayed in room #9 & loved it! Great view from the room and balcony. We enjoyed the jacuzzi tub and the huge bed! Very comfortable. It's right on Main Ave so very close to restaurants and shops. A great place in an amazing town! -The Newlands

The Majestic is a beautiful old inn. I stayed here with my husband, had a fabulous weekend getaway. We stayed in a large, beautiful room with nice furniture which had a fabulous view. The breakfast was nice, staff was very helpful.
"A Great Girl's Weekend"

A friend and I spent a lovely relaxing weekend at the warm and welcoming Majestic Hotel. The ambiance is very cozy and a perfect antidote to the cold winter. We took part in a fantastic wine and cheese tasting and slept well in the comfortable beds. Rooms available in all sizes and there's a very main lobby lounge, beautifully decorated. Our only request is stronger coffee to go with the bountiful breakfast buffet. Staff is welcoming and we'll be back in the summer to enjoy the beach down the street.
"Great place to stay, especially off season"

We went in February, so it's likely a very different experience during the summer, but the place is cozy and inviting and warm! The continental breakfast is typical, but what makes it special is that it gets brought out, so you feel taken care of. It is perfect for a weekend getaway. Our room was small, but comfortable. The water pressure in the bathroom was good and it was clean. In terms of noise level, the floors are audible as are people's voices from other rooms, so FYI if you're noise sensitive like I am. The owner was very pleasant with us. Great location, of course, and everything important is within walking distance. If you're here I highly recommend visiting the Silverball Museum at Asbury Park (about a 15 walk away on the boardwalk). It is a blast from the past! Nice restaurants in the area too!

We were able to book a last-minute getaway here for one night in January. We were welcomed by Valerie who was very friendly and hospitable, and she offered several suggestions for dinner and a night out. Our beautiful king room included a four-poster bed, a sitting area, ocean view balcony and a Jacuzzi bath, plus a handy kitchenette. On the top floor is the Widow's Walk where you can enjoy a sun-filled sitting area with views of the town and ocean. Great for a morning cup of coffee or afternoon snack! The breakfast offerings were fresh and filling and Valerie was kind enough to offer to bring coffee up to our room when I told her we were having coffee there. We also like the fact that the main lobby/foyer area was more modern than most B&Bs, with a "Front Gate/Crate and Barrel" type of feel. This is located on Main Ave. in Ocean Grove so you have less than a minute's walk to the shops and restaurants. We will DEFINITELTY BE BACK!
"Away from it All"

We needed a weekend away from Christmasing, when what to my wondering eyes should appear but a Groupon for a discounted stay in a hotel in Ocean Grove, NJ. Having vacationed in Ocean Grove one summer, I knew the quirky place and realized this was just the town we needed. The Majestic Hotel is a lovely old Victorian B & B on Main Avenue, just steps from the boardwalk and with views of the ocean from virtually every window. The weather had turned cold, so we crossed over the wraparound porch into the inviting parlor, where a gas fire was burning in the small fireplace and the innkeeper was waiting for us. Our room was comfortable and cozy and all the necessities were provided. We expected that most of the restaurants would be closed down for the winter, so the small kitchenette was a nice addition. For breakfast, we had made our selections from the somewhat limited menu the evening before and everything was promptly and pleasantly served at our small table in the little morning room downstairs. The service was very friendly and we benefited from the suggestions for a dinner out (Sea Grass Restaurant-highly recommended by everyone we met and the food was better than delicious!) and recommendations for things to see in the area. The hotel and the whole town were beautifully decorated for the season and the main street was surprisingly busy on Sunday. It was a sweet way to spend the weekend before Christmas and I would gladly return next year.
