Auckland Harbour Oaks

Disappointing not to have the room cleaned - as a serviced hotel I fully expected to return after a day out on the sunday to a clean apartment - this did not happen and when we enquired there was no reasonable explaination for why it didn't occur. We did receive one day free parking as compensation. Staff were friendly. Enjoyable stay.

This is the 3rd time I've stayed here with my husband & young daughter in a 2 bed apartment. Each time is as good as the last. Great value for money & within easy walking distance of Vector Arena, Civic Theatre, Queen St & the harbour. We love it here and wouldn't stay anywhere else. Nice harbour view as request, conveniece location but not very pleasant surrounding(neighbourhood: a bit scary at night). Receptions services are great, room are clean everyday except they never change a blanket so we used the same blanket for 3 nights. I was a little dissapointed with the breakfast, since I am not into sweet foods for breakfast. I think a small packet of muesli or some kind of cereal would of been better rather than the bar and muffin. The room was basic but comfortable, there is a bit of street noise but I did bring ear plugs. Staff were very plesant. Location is very good.

Not good service arrived into room that we had booked 2 queen beds but the room we were given had one queen and a single, spoke to reception and after heated discussion and arguments they gave a fold up bed free of charge. AS we informed them we paid for a room that would sleep 4 people and expected bedding for 4 people

The day receptionist weren't very friendly, i felt although they had too much to do to address us properly, that gave us a bad experience right from the start. Night reception was wonderful though. The room service was far too late, we would arrive back at 5.30 pm and our room still hadn't been clean, i had to ask them to do so. Hotel accommodation was modern, clean, furnishings were a bit spartan, but overall was pleased with the full kitchen, full sized fridge and amenities. TVs were a little on the small side (24"?). I read through a lot of reviews before I went and while all the complaints were valid they didn't bother me. Yes it was noisy (earplugs work a treat), no the toilet didn't flush well (do it a few times, or tip extra water down for a really big job ;-), but it was clean and warm and comfortable and the location was perfect. Great value for money.

I enjoyed my stay with you but I had booked the room for 5 people but there was no extra linen for the 5th person. We were all adults, not sure if 3 adults were ment to sleep in the king bed?! Your staff did provide us with extra linen for someone to sleep on the couch :)

Absolutely shocked with the lack of customer care. Front of house staff rude, condescending and showelobo company or business awareness. Unable to offer any help in regards to storin luggage or a possible early check in, would not even look for a solution as we were willing to pay extra. Had just got in from the states with a car full of belongings […] and just expected better customer service overall. I personally work in customer service/airline type work and can safely say that this behaviour and attitude we received was unacceptable would not stay again or recommend to anyone. Have experienced better level of problem solving and happier more friendly staff at a back packers. One receptionist in particular was snarky, intimidating and along the whole problem very personally. We are polite and friendly people and expect the same in return. In fact this is the first time I have had to complain of hotel service, and both my partner and I stay in hotels very regularly for business. Breakfast option was unsatisfactory, no cereal or toast, just a yoghurt, muesli bar and stale muffin. And an unidebtifiable juice? The room was good however and clean. Good in room facilities. Very good but the outside noise lets you down. Too many backpacker hotels around you. We had to wear "earplugs" on a friday night due to loud party noise at 3AM. I know this is out of your control but there needs to be some co operation between ALL accommodation hotels in the area otherwise you will chase away paying customers.cheers. Diane H.

Upgraded to a 2bedroom apartment with a view over the viaduct! Awesome! Not a huge apartment but had all the things you needed such as a bath, washing machine and dryer in the room, good kitchen and utensils. Good price for room with a harbour view. Didn't realise we had to book parking but this wasn't a problem as reasonably priced public car park just around the corner. For this price this hotel is excellent. We were in a 2 bed aprtmt on 31st flr so no problems with noise and view was amazing. Balcony was smaller than the one in the picture (just wide enough to stand on). rooms nice. Beds made each day and new towels given. Only complaint is there's no temperature control in the room. Hotel is in a great location but room had strong cigarette smell, right next to road with construction noise (in fairness, this is temporary), breakfast need improvement, and should make available wireless internet connection instead of just cabled connection.

Super fast check-in experience. We just stayed the 1 night while we went to the Lady Gaga concert, it was just a short walk to the Vector Arena. Room was comfortable but the sheets were "rustly" so a little noisy turning in your sleep. Good location close to the harbour and Queen street. Lots of dining options around.
