Standard hotel. No complaints. Free shuttle to and from airport when I was there. Took about 3 or 4 minutes only.

I have stayed at essentially all of the hotels in Fairbanks and have driven by this one many times on my wayto the airport. Recently with flights that arrived late and left early I wanted a hotel very near the airport and stayed here. It is a very good hotel for the price and one is not missing much compared to places that charge twice as much. While […] the rooms are comfortably warm it would be good to have an extra blanket for the beds. For a first-time visitor to Fairbanks I would recommend someplace a bit closer to downtown but for many that might not be an issue. I found the hotel's lounge, the Finish Line, to be a surprisingly nice place to visit in the evening. The breakfast was mainly good for the coffee it offered and I would recommend going to one of the many Fairbanks restaurants that serve excellent breakfasts. Read more

This place is fine for a night. It's located right next to airport which is not where I needed to be. Continental breakfast was better than what I read in other reviews. Service was ok but nothing special. Room was clean and quiet. Bar and Restaurant had limited hours and when I went later that night a bunch of young kids were running around and screaming. […] Must have been employees kids because no one concerned. The hotel was clean. Beds were comfortable; bathroom was huge. The walls are a little thin which I normally don't mind since it is a budget hotel, but we had some pretty noisy neighbors both next door and upstairs from about 10 pm-1 am. On hotels.com it said the hotel allowed pets and when I got there they only had 1 pet room and it wasn't mine. I was soo mad!! And the front desk lady was so rude and hung up on me!! Never staying there again.

I give it a 3.5 for price, cleanliness, and comfort. Stayed here for a short overnight visit to Fairbanks. The hotel was very clean and quiet. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable. We looked in the hotel guest services book and it stated that breakfast was $3, but reservation and front desk indicated it was free and […] thank goodness it was. I'm not sure if there is a fee in the summer, but even at $3 it is not worth it. There were the typical waffle makers, some pineapple chunks, yogurt to scoop out of a bowl, a few muffins, 4 choices of cereal, OJ, and white bread for toast, but no jelly or peanut butter. The hotel has radiant heat, which was set for 73 degrees and the only way to turn it down or cool it off, was to run the air conditioner! I have to say in 31 years of living in Alaska, that was the first time I ran an air conditioner in the middle of winter! Maybe at normal winter Fairbanks temperatures below zero it isn't a problem, but at 19 degrees above zero the room was hot & cold all night. They advertise an excercise room...there were 2 pieces of equipment: a treadmill, a bike and some dumbbells. The TV didn't work in the workout room. There is a sauna, but we didn't use it. The Finish Line restaurant at the hotel was great for dinner. Great waitress, good food, good prices & good service. For the price I would probably stay there again, but not plan on their breakfast to start my day. Read more

It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The main downfalls: Breakfast cost 3 bucks and Breakfast ENDS at 9:30am. Checkout is by 11a which isn't great if you want to sleep in. The TV is VERY LIMITED on channels available to watch and I did not see an option to rent anything.

didn't try other hotel nearby. don't know how to compare with the nearby hotels. but i would give it a 3 by comparing to other hotels from all of my previous experience. if it's the best deal, i wouldn't mind to go there again. but I might want to try other hotel next time.

We appreciated the front desk's aurora notification call and enjoyed viewing the spectacular northern lights from the empty field to the north of the hotel. The buffet continental breakfast was good but should be replenished more often.

I stayed on the second floor and below me was a noisy fan most of the night. I had to change my stay one day advanced and could not receive any reimbursment for the second day even though I did not stay two days.

My room was right next to the kitchen. At 3am, I could hear doors opening and shutting; spoons clanking, mixers stirring. Manager could not do anything to remedy. Sad. The continental breakfast is cold cereal and a few pastries - nothing worth paying for.

The airport shuttle is a joke. I've stayed here twice and both times, it was unavailable. The Lodge is very close to the airport, so you'd think that they'd be able to get this right, but obviously not. They will tell you to take a Yellow or Eagle cab instead, but both times, there were no Yellow or Eagle cabs at the airport. The front desk staff have […] little customer service training and did not even thank me at checkout. They charge $3 for a continental breakfast you'd find free anywhere else. Simple amenities, such as the ATM and vending, were down. Look elsewhere when staying in Fairbanks...I highly recommend the Springhill Suites instead. Read more

We were pleased with all except the limousine service from the railroad depot. I phoned from Denali Station to advise that we would arrive at 4:00 PM. I was told to tell the conductor to determine whether there were any other passengers that required transportation to Alpine Lodge. Upon being told there were none and to call the hotel myself I did so […] from the train. Upon arrival in Fairbanks we waited for about 20 minutes, then called Alpine Lodge. I was told that the van would be there soon. After waiting another 20 minutes I called again and was told the van was not available, but the staff would call for a taxi to take us to the motel. The taxi showed up within a few minutes to get us. We chose the Alpine Lodge based on its proximity to the airport and the professed limousine service. In that respect we were disappointed. The Alpine Lodge was a decent place to stay. It is conveniantly located near the airport with a restaurant and near other restaurants. The staff that I dealt with was very polite and available for questions. I've stayed at the Alpine before. The staff was very polite and welcoming. The continental breakfast costs $3 which is more than reasonable. Unfortunately, much of the selection was gone, including regular coffee. The front desk was kind enough to provide us with another packet for our room.
