This hotel looked like a motel 6 room until i opened the back door and saw the additional room! The back room brought a smile to my face and made it more comfortable for the stay. The bed in front room is very small tho.

The room was clean and close to the beach only a block away. However it was very hot. The A/C for the hotel is on a main system that is set by the main office. The first night we were there it was around 85-90 degrees in our room. My two year old son got sick from the heat. We had to go to Wal-mart to by big box fans just to be able to stand the room. […] The fridge was not cool. We had to put all of our food in the freezer just to keep it cool. I was miserable due to the heat. The next morning I notified the hotel owner to tell him about the A/C problem. He came to our room and set it on 50. It still did not cool down. But I had already paid all the money to stay there so we were stuck. The bathroom and kitchen were very clean. But if you stay here be sure to bring your own pots and pans for cooking in. I personally would not stay here again because of how hot it was. The rooms were clean and all, but if you want to relax after a long day on the beach in the heat find another hotel. It was a good stay in all. It's surely not the best hotel, but for the payed price it was appropriate. The furniture wasn't the newest. Chairs were about to break. The fridge was surprisingly clean. My husband and I went to Virginia Beach for a long weekend. We arrived a night earlier than we had planned. I called hotel after hotel and could not find a room. I finally called hotels.com and asked for a room at Virginia Beach. The room at the Belmont Inn & Suites was the only room left. The location was not bad I guess. It was a block away from […] the beach and we walked there without a problem. It was conveniently located to all of the area attractions. The receptionist (possibly owner) was somewhat difficult to understand as he did not speak English very clearly and he was really not very friendly. The room was very outdated. It smelled musty. It was dark and light switches were hard to find. The mattresses were hard and uncomfortable. The pillows were very flat. I checked for bed bugs closely as I thought this seemed like an ideal place for them. I did not find any bed bugs thankfully. The toilet ran for a long time after being flushed. It was very chilly when we arrived and we turned on the heat and it was very noisy. My husband said it sounded like a helicopter. The curtains had holes in them. The room was just not a very pleasant environment. I couldn't check out fast enough in the morning. Other than being close to the beach and being able to park easily, I can't think of anything good to say about this place. We checked into the Holiday Inn Express the following day and had wonderful service and a great room. Read more

If you are looking for a room for a very resonable price close to the boardwalk I would recommend the Belmont. Although the room is a little outdated the layout was fine. The bed linen and bath linen were soiled in some areas probably due to their being used by so many. I would definitely recommend you bring your own bed linen or at least a covering […] for the sheets and pillow cases and your own towels and washcloths. The two room suite was hot and smelled very musty. The air conditioning blew hot air. There was only one window in the back of the suite and the lock on it was broken. When a room is advertised with a kitchenette I would expect there to be kitchen items to eat, cook and drink with. There was not even a glass in the bathroom.
