"Inn By The Sea - Cape Elizabeth, ME"
My husband and I rarely travel so we wanted to spoil ourselves for our 20th wedding anniversary. The staff could not have been more friendly. One could tell that they are genuine people who enjoy their jobs. We also splurged on spa treatments and enjoyed the environment and the treatments immensely. We would have loved it if it was just a bit closer […] to the ocean but that is the only thing I would change. We stayed in one of the two level King Spa suites. The view was beautiful and the room was very spacious and comfortable. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Our 3 day stay at Inn by the Sea, from the point of arrival to departure was a fantastic and memorable experience. All members of staff from the receptionists, waiters, bellboys were warm, friendly, and extremely helpful at all times. The room/apartment was immaculate, spacious and perfect to our needs- it was great to have the creature comforts of […] a home rather than just a standard hotel- ie contemporary and neutral decor, fridge, microwave, kettle, very large bathtub, selection of towels etc. It was also wonderful to devour the gorgeous toiletries in the shower especially after the long evening drive to the hotel on our first night. it was a wonderful to wake up and find a gorgeous view from our patio area looking out onto the hotel gardens and distant view of Crescent beach. The setting and surroundings of the hotel (gardens and short walk to Crescent beach) are idyllic and provided a perfect place for us to chill out as it was the last leg of our 14 day vacation to the US (as coming from the UK). The stretch of beaches are sandy. perfectly clean and picturesque and we took advantage and made early morning jogs and numerous walks along the shoreline. Having had a fun, yet very hot , humid and chaotic week sightseeing in New York City we wanted a place to relax, reflect and unwind. The climate was perfect for what we enjoy and needed- bright sunny days with cool breezes -great for early June. We thought it was a lovely and unique touch, upon returning to the apartment on an evening, for the rooms to be lit, soft music playing and tasty sweet treats to be left. It would have been lovely to have taken advantage of some of the spa treatments but not at those costly prices. The high standard, beauty and location of the hotel is worth driving the extra miles to get to, and is a ideal to explore surrounding areas that are approximately a maximum 1 hour drive away. The Inn provided us with a good base to visit nearby places such as Portland, Freeport, Kennebunkport and O Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"The most relaxing vacation we had in years"

We stayed here 3 nights this week with our dog. The hotel is just lovely. We had a garden room with a view of the ocean. The staff is wonderful, so friendly, and willing to help. We always travel with our dog and have stayed in many pet friendly hotels but always felt stressed and restricted for one reason or another. Not here. The staff made our dog feel welcome, and we were even able to take him to the lounge with us for meals. We will definitely be back.

My wife & I choose this place because of there friendly pet policy. We were completely happy with front desk in greeting us and our dogs. We have two Akitas and our dogs loved the staff and the beach. This is the place to go with your dogs and family!
"Best Dog & People Friendly Hotel Ever"

Perfect place to spend a few nights with your family and your dog. We ate all our meals in the lounge surrounded by really nice people and their well behaved dogs. We even brought our dog down to the bar: he was admired while we enjoyed the bar. Just a short walk from the beach where your dog can run and frolic during the off season. Although the locals told me that even during the season if you bring your dog out early in the AM no one will bother you and you won't get a ticket from the local police! The spa has the best steam room anywhere, and the staff are all about making you and your dog happy.
"Could not imagine a better stay"
M y wife and I spent several days here with our dogs. Everything was absolutely excellent. Well appointed rooms, comfortable sleeping arrangements, great food, and best of all pet friendly! They will arrange dog sitting, have special meals for pets etc. We liked it so much that we are going back in August.

This is the best place for us when it comes to all of us - including our pup - being spoiled and made to fee special. The staff, cleanliness, location, rooms - are just splendid. The staff are so very attentive. We will be back!
"Best Friend's weekend get-away"
04/08/14 Rosemarie R Hamden, Connecticut
My best friend & I spent the weekend. It is a truly beautiful place, both in and out. We stayed in a garden suite, which was great. We each took turns sleeping in the bedroom. One issue we had was that the mattress in the bedroom was not very comfortable. Actually, the sofa bed in the main living area (which we were told was purchased fairly recently) was actually more comfortable. Also the coffee pot is a little tricky to use and you need to fill it up in the bathroom sink. Might be more user friendly to get smaller pots or Keurig's for the rooms. But all-in-all it was a great stay. Staff is very hospitable and helpful. Food at the Sea Glass is top notch. Views are spectacular. Although we didn't bring a dog, we truly enjoyed watching the dogs frolicking around the grounds. We plan on coming next year with a couple more girlfriends.
"Women's weekend gem"

Spend a weekend with my girlfriends. Enjoyed a sunny Spring day after this brutal winter, which made the stay even nicer. We stayed in a Garden Suite with direct accesss to the outdoors. Beautiful crescent beach within a 5 minute walk from hotel. Very lovely landscaping, including a large fire pit and outdoor pool. Our suite was lovely - enjoyed the spacious living area and the deep soaking tub. Had dinner and breakfast at the Sea Glass restaurant on site. Delicious food and wonderful service. Loved it. Would like to go again when we can enjoy some beach weather.

While driving the back roads to get to the inn we questioned what could be so special about this place that people would go off the beaten path to stay there. We soon found out why. Beautifully appointed rooms, great bed, gas burning fireplace, ocean views, VERY quiet (we were next to the elevator and heard no noise in our room). The staff was friendly and helpful always. The grounds were lovely (and probably look even better in spring and summer). The biggest surprise was the few hundred yard walk to Crescent Beach. It is an oasis - you go and stay and relax. Sea Glass restaurant served wonderful food, varied and tasty and filling. The spa was available by appointment. There is a cardio workout area in the inn.
"Got married and Loved it!"

We got married here in 2010 and stayed at the Inn by the Sea. The weather was horrible (to be expected in October), but the amenities were amazing. We got dual massages and loved the atmosphere in the bar each night. Everyone we met celebrated with us upon hearing we had just gotten married. What a beautiful town and a great place to stay!
