This hotel was supposed to be an upgrade from Expedia/Hotel.com because they overbooked our original hotel. They put us in queen bed suite. Sounded good...until we saw the yucky stained carpet, stained chairs. Beds were ok but we felt if the floors were disgusting then the beds may not have been very sanitary. Didn't sleep good at all since our A/C […] stunk. Would not get cooler than 72 degrees. Everyone was kicking off covers. When I called front desk about it at 4 am they brought me a heavy duty industrial fan which sounded like a tornado coming through the hotel, it was so loud. Also when I complained about A/C next day to the lady at check out, she was like 'yah, we're having problems'. They know about this already!! Oh, & breakfast was not good. Bad quality. Would definitely stay here again. The staff was excellent. Our room was exceptionally clean. We had a problem with water dripping from the ceiling the first night but it was taken care of immediately. I'm picky about cleanliness in hotel rooms. I couldn't find a bit of dust and bathroom was immaculate.

I could hear a couple above us arguing until 1130pm. Also had trouble controlling temperature during the night. Thermostat needed to be adjusted down throughout the night to keep room cool.

We were very impressed with this hotel. The staff was always very friendly to us. One morning of our three night stay, we came out to find a flat tire on our vehicle. My sons were sitting on the curb waiting, and the front desk person brought out little snack bags with water, animal crackers, and a few pieces of candy. This is about three miles from JMU, just off the Interstate. Slept very well! Front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. I recommend this hotel.

Dont know why this is always an issue with every hotel we stay at. Doesnt matter wether its a 5 star or not. The sink is always backed up, Non smoking always smells like smoking, phone mouth piece is never really wiped. Other than that the people who work there always had a smile and the service was above average. The hotel had a nice country candle sent. Everything was clean and well maintained. The fire place and the wooden balcony with stairs was a nice touch. Breakfast had plenty of choices. I smoke so that had a nice outside area with a bench under a porch for smokers.. I will look for another Country Inn the next town i stay in..

my wife and I had a wonderful getway. The pool and spa was great to our standards. The free breakfast they served filled us and taste good, alot of selections. In all it was a quiet nite stay and stay again when time comes again.

The hotel itself is great. Stayed in another one before and it was great. This one had a lot of families in it. The walls are paper thin. The noise from kids running up and down the halls. Neighbors keeping you up till midnight. Felt good to get back home and sleep in peace.

pleasantly surprised. Very comfortable, spacious, clean -- great value all the way around. Breakfast was impressive too, considering it was included in the very reasonable room price. And just 10 minutes down 81 from JMU. I would definitely recommend this and plan to stay here again next time.

Room was very clean but our (king) bed was hard. Nice pool and hot tub. Average breakfast. Close to Interstate 81 but not much in the immediate neighborhood other than a Cracker Barrel, gas stations and other hotels.

I stayed one night in NOV 2012. What I really liked: extremely convenient to exit 243 off I-81. Nicely appointed lobby. Efficient check-in [thru Hotels.com]. Fresh smelling hallways and room. Room included microwave, refrigerator, complementary wireless internet, soft towels. Ice machine worked. Vending machines well-stocked. Laundry available for guests. […] Superior breakfast included [eggs, bacon, home fries, fresh waffles, pastries, cereals, fresh fruits, milk, juices, coffee, tea]. Very clean indoor pool and whirlpool. What I didn't like: mattress was firmer than I like and, although the pillows were soft, they were smaller than normal [three-across a queen-size bed, rather than two]; powdered coffee creamer in the rooms instead of mini half-and-half cups; I could not completely close the drapes to block out the street lights, my car bottomed out on the entrance into the parking lot, even when moving at a crawl-speed. Overall, this Country Inn and Suites is doing it all right. I will stay here on all future visits to Harrisonburg and will visit other hotels in the chain. Read more

Major problem-I booked through Hotels.com shortly before arriving at the hotel. I have my debit card for the "incidentals" holding fee that a lot of hotels require. I did not realize until late the next day as I was traveling home that the hotel had also charged me for my room. I called and was told that it was because I booked on hotels.com and arrived […] shortly after doing that and it didn't have time to go through, however, I do that often and this was the first time it's ever happened. It took me several days before they were able to take the charge off of my debit card which irritated me since they got the money right away and couldn't credit it back as fast. The front desk staff was nice, room was clean, breakfast was ok. Bacon was literally floating in grease in the pan, but other than that it was good. I greatly appreciated the breakfast area staff catching me to let me know I left my purse. If you stay at the hotel I would suggest not staying in any rooms located to the far left of the building on a Sunday night as the trash truck will wake you up if you are wanting to sleep in. Just a personal thought-put the sensor to open the sliding front door at an angle so that it doesn't catch the movement every time done one walks by to get coffee or go to the breakfast area. It's annoying and probably not very cost effective. I am particular about hotels, but even with the issues mentioned I wouldn't mind staying here again. Read more

Fine, but the front entry to the hotel is a big problem. The cars bottomed out on it when coming off the road. Use the back entry,and even then, carefully.
