The Dunes was absolutely fabulous. We had one minor issue w/key operation which was addressed immediately, after hours, through the emergency contact number. And when we checked out, it was all apologies for the inconvenience. The resort was fabulous. The desk staff was as warm and friendly as could be. We had an orange tree right outside of our back […] door, which, by the way, led directly to the pool and other fruit trees. Unfortunately, we came when it was an unusual 65 degrees so we missed out on the pool. The hotel is located very close to everything you need. Shopping, restaurants etc... Word of advice: If you are planning to try the Dunes, do it soon. All of the hotel suites are being sold and will be utilized as time shares by the end of 2011. Do Not miss out on this experience. We almost turned around but the security guard at the check in station said that we were at the right place. It is a secured gated country club. They are turning this hotel in to a time share some time next year. My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Dunes. The room was worth more than we paid. It is basically what it says, a roomy studio apartment. We made use of the mini fridge, the coffee maker, flat screen TV, DVD player and the microwave oven. The bed was huge however they could use some […] better pillows. Bring your own if you can. Also the doors separating our room from the room next door seemingly amplified the sound of their TV rather than muted it. Luckily we bring a white noise machine with us and that drowned out the sound so we could sleep. The room was very modern with slate floors and a nice shower. The floors were a little chilly on the bare feet in the morning. There is a huge walk in closet to store luggage or whatever else you may have. We had everything we needed for our overnight stay. There may be flashier, bigger hotels in the area but for an over night stay this place was perfect. Read more

Our stay at the Dunes was Great! It is VERY clean,inside & out.Comfy bed & pillows. New l.c.d. T.V. We used the new-big bbq. one night. At night the fire pit near the pool was great. Jacuzzi was warm & nice.

The Dunes was WONDERFUL...I would highly recommend The Dunes, the staff was great, our studio condo was freshly maintained each day of our stay, the bed was very comfortable, the grounds were beautiful, since it is a grated community you feel very safe and last but not least the price was unbelievable.

Superb place! Unfortunately we have learned that they will be selling all their rooms as a 1/12 ownership (similar to time share).That's too bad! We have to ty to find a substitute for it.

We stayed in a studio room with the kitchenette. We really enjoyed the quietness and calmness of the Dunes. Having a kitchenette was great too. Each unit has their own stainless steel BBQ so we were able to enjoy a nice steak on the "Barbie" one night for dinner. The one thing that could have been better is the cleanliness of the pool as there were […] a lot of bugs in it. We used the pool for three days and the skimmer must not have been working because each day the pool had just as many bugs as as the day before! For the money the room was a wonderful deal. For all the things they list as amenities just realize that you are on your own once you check in. Outside of the swimming pool they offer no other services so any attempts they put in writing to let you think they have activities to offer is just not available. The Bermuda Dunes Golf Course is just yards […] away but you are not allowed to be anywhere near the course. In fact there check-in literature tells you to not walk near the course for your safety and because it is trespassing on private property so there must be some kind of falling out with this hotel and surrounding neighborhood even though everyone shares the same gated entrance. This is not your typical high-rise hotel. Everything said by the other reviewers and hotels.com is accurate; the rooms are spacious, clean, and modern. The kitchenette is a nice touch, and the outdoor grills in front of each unit should be taken advantage of! There are 3 grocery stores within a mile--buy some steaks and sides, and a bottle or two of […] wine, and relax and enjoy! The location of the hotel is a little out of the way (2-3 miles to shopping, movies, etc) but it is so quiet and calm its worth it. This was my 4th stay at the Dunes and it never disappoints. We asked for a non-smoking room. They gave us a room with an adjoining door to the next room. Apparently they were heavy smokers, because the whole time we were in the room we could smell smoke and hear the TV and people from the next room. Also, I must say I was very unimpressed with the "cleaning" of our room. The floors were completely filthy. Really nice rooms but there were two things I didn't care for. 1) The pool was dirty 2) The shower heads need to be changed. They hurt when the water comes out and you can't adjust.

This place was previously known as The New INN at Bermuda Dunes and was a resort hotel. We use to come down here every 4th of July and any other time we had available for the past 15 years. Now it is simply known as The Dunes and is a Time-Share type accommodation. Wow is all that I can say about the remodel! The color palette is warm and inviting […] and the attention to detail is 2nd to none. The staff were some of the friendliest that I have ever experienced in all of my travels. The unit we had offered a full on-suite bathroom off the master bedroom separated from the main lounge and kitchenette area which also offered another half bath. At night, we took the master bedroom and the kid had the lounge and kitchen – with his own bathroom so no body had to disturb anyone in the middle of the night. Each unit has a nice new and clean build in gas barbeque with auto lighter. The new Jacuzzi is conveniently located at the rear lawn and is fenced for safety. The entire property is located within a private community which is rigorously patrolled by security. You cannot get in this place without a reservation or invitation. If you have the opportunity to do so, I highly recommend this place to singles, couples and families alike! Read more

If you choose to go here there is one gate that has a sign "The Dunes", the other gates are unmarked and look like a private neighborhood community, follow another car in the gate or you may drive around hunting for the main gate for a long time as I was. The main gate attendant […] also gave me a pass for my car, if you come in another gate, you may want to find the main gate to get a pass for your car. The main gate is visible from the hotel. Second, the place was recently remodeled, so it was comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. Third, considering the value, the hotel was reasonably priced.

We had a very nice experience at The Dunes, the rooms were totally updated and very clean. Loved the fact that they used stone flooring rather that hotel carpet . The size of the studio room with a walk-in closet is the perfect size for two people. The entry gates were under some contruction, which made coming and leaving a little inconvient. And, the […] pool was a little cloudy from the 4th of July weekend crowd. After the weekend crowed left the pool was cleaned and we had it all to ourselves. I loved the Dunes, so nice & comfy. A nice and quite place to stay, this was my second stay and will do it again. The only issue I had was not being able to hook up to the WIFI, and that wouldn't sway my decision NOT to stay there.

Outstanding value, especially through hotels.com. They are redoing their main gate and the alternate entrance gate was not well marked and difficult to find after sunset. Otherwise, everything was great.

The Dunes was a great place to stay; spacious room, well appointed and nice pool area. Location was convenient for visiting Palm Desert with easy access off the I-10. The only minor drawback was the noise of the ventilation fan just outside the unit.

Pictures of the condo implied that there was a full kitchenette. in reality you get a small fridge, microwave and dishwasher only. No range is available inside the unit. One burner exists associated with the barbeque outside on the patio. Makes cooking a full meal a bit challenging. This is an excellent resort. We enjoyed the suite facilities which were very well serviced every day. It is a quiet location but was very convenient for golf, shopping and dining out. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.
