The hotel at first glance seems very nice and the staff is very friendly, but it does not take long to unveil the truth. I visually noticed bugs in the bathroom, after talking to other guests at the hotel they all stated they had this issue. 2 days into my stay I noticed welts from bug bites on my body. In my 3 night stay I had a total of 12 bites...although […] I don't think they were from beg bugs if this is any consolation prize. The staff is friendly to your face, but reveal themselves to be very shady. I sent them emails before arriving asking to assist me in finding tours of the city. The manager kept suggesting tours for astronomical prices, later I was told by another employee that he recommends his friends to perform the tours at the large prices in return for a kickback. I ended up booking the same tour the manager suggested for the Atlas Mountains through a company for 1000Dhs cheaper than his price. The hotel shuttle that is advertised on their website as an amenity and no price is mentioned when you use it has a hidden cost. After using it, the receptionist promptly requests 50Dhs. The cost for the shuttle is fair, but would be nice if it was advertised. The hotel seemed like it was struggling to find its identity, and definitely could list prices up front, as well as get a cleaning for the bugs. Definitely ask for prices up front and do not count on them to assist you in booking tours. Read more

We enjoyed this hotel after a wonderful but tiring journey in the Southern part of Morocco. It was far from the excitement of Marrakech which was perfect for us as we were tired and flying back the next day to Chicago. We were there for 2 nights. We avoided the crowd of the New Year's Eve festivity. The garden is very interesting, displaying a large […] collection of cacti. It would be a plus if each plant would be labeled (name and origin of the cactus, for example), same with the trees and other plants. One minus: the jaccuzi was rather cool.... so we did not use it neither did we the beautiful swimming pool. The breakfast was light and the choice limited, but good. The choice of the menu was OK, but not very original, especially after 3 nights... the location of the hotel (which was not a problem for us) did allow easily the access of the Medina or any other neighbourhood. Doorman could easily get a taxi for guest. We liked our room that was remote from the hotel reception et dining room. This was quite plaisant. We could ask for barbecue, etc. Nice hotel. Their spa rates were overrated and so was their food and beverage prices compared with other cities in Morocco. Very nice hotel that has unique moroccan decor. The rooms were very nice, large and laid out well. Could have been better with tea making facilities in the room, but I guess when they charge 60 dirhams (£4.50) for two cups of tea, it all becomes clear. The breakfast is ok but changes gradually everyday, as in things get slightly worse. After 7 days […] it is almost inedible. I would strongly recommend eating breakfast in the city. We had a hire car which turned out to be crucial as after 3 days in marakech you WILL become bored rigid as there really isnt much to do. The hotel has a shuttle service that only runs into the city (7 miles away) at 9.30 and 3.30, but this costs 25 dirhams (£1.87) per person per way. So a family of four staying for a week, it will set you back £104.72, which is only £18 short for what we paid for a hire car! With the shuttle being very limited you are almost held prisoner at the hotel. This is fine if all you want to do is sit by the pool all day and do absolutely nothing, as there really is absolutely nothing else to do there...except drink tea! Having said all of this, it really is a very nice hotel and excellent staff, as long as you have a car then you will really enjoy your stay. Read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Terre. There were a couple of minor glitches, but these were dealt with efficiently and generously by the hotel's management, which seems intent on improving what's perceived as wrong and truly offering a good experience to guests. The room was comfortable and roomy, the hotel's food was decent, the pools are clean […] and inviting, and the gardens/grounds are beautiful and immaculately kept. we had an issue with transfers and shuttles to town, but these were addressed by the hotel and, whilst I've rated the "convenience" of the hotel's location and the surrounding neighbourhood as only middle rankings, we much, much preferred to be out of the true hustle and bustle of Marrakech, which would have tired and irritated us quickly. The hotel is nice and the staff are very friendly and helpful. However, this hotel is absolutely not five stars, though this can be deduced from the price. It is 3.5 at the very most. The hotel itself is in the middle of nowhere. Although we chose a hotel out of the city based on friends' comments, we didn't really appreciate how isolated it is. It […] is c. 20-30 minute drive into the city centre (dependent on traffic), but most importantly it is a good 10 minute walk to the nearest proper road (which isn't a "main" road by any stretch but more of a dirt track) from where you can hail a cab. The track leading to this road isn't lit so you presumably wouldn't enjoy walking there at night. As a result you are dependent on the hotel's own taxi, which although comfortable and much better than the 'petit' taxis that whizz around the city, you obviously pay a premium for. The hotel does offer a shuttle bus into the city, but the final bus back from the city is a 7.30pm, which isn't late to enjoy dinner in town. You will spend a lot on taxis staying here. The hotel also feels half finished. The outdoor jacuzzi was broken and cold for the entirety of our stay and the outdoor pool was freezing (though this is because it is not a heated pool that is offered by some of the more luxurious hotels). Breakfast is extremely poor. Dinner is good, though very expensive. Overall: very average and wouldn't return. Read more

The hotel is situated in the middle of nowhere, 30 minutes from Marrakesh - there are no bars, restaurants or shops within the vacinity so you are completely dependent on the hotel services which are extremely poor. When you eat dinner in the restaurant be prepared to wait a long time for service - a one course dinner with drinks will take you around […] 2 hours - the staff are completely uncoordinated and regularly forget what you've ordered as they don't write things down. A 25cl beer will cost you an arm and a leg, so it makes for an expensive pint. Best to stick to the local wine which is reasonably priced and palatable. Breakfast is basic. Hard dry bread rolls, plastic cheese and some tinned fruit - get's a bit boring after a couple of days. If you want to lie by the pool you'll need to get there early because all of the beds get nabbed early and there are never enough towels. If you ask for one, you'll either wait for a long time or never get one. The accomodation looks fairly grand from the outside but it's fairly dark and dingy inside. Whoever did the painting must have been in a rush because there is more paint on the floor than on the walls. The shower is fairly weedy and didn't drain so you stand in stale cold water. The shared kitchen had no pots or pans, crockery or cutlery - they obviously wanted you to spend money in their overpriced restaurant. If you're planning a trip to Marrakesh, I'd suggest 3 nights in a Riad in the City and 4 nights in an other 5-star hotel. Read more

We went on our belated Honeymoon in October 2010 to Marrakech. The hotel is located some 20 minutes outside of the city-centre. There is a shuttle bus which serves as the main form of transport between the hotel and city. Unfortunately, the shuttle bus runs quite infrequently (2 trips out at 11am and 2pm, and 2 trips back at 4.30pm and 7.30pm daily). […] The hotel itself has a swimming pool and tennis court, but otherwise there isn't much to do there. On arrival we were disappointed with the length of time it took to check in, even if it was late at night. We were greeted with a smile and staff were pleasant enough, however we were disappointed in the first room we were allocated, as we had booked a junior suite in this 5 Star resort, but were shown to a room which was clearly not what we had booked, […] but were being told it was a junoir suite. It was a very small room, with small twin beds (almost seemed as if they had squeezed two small beds into a single room) and tried to pass it off as a junoir suite. Decor was not to standard either and no hotel information packs or leaflets were in the room, and no room number on the outside door which did no close very well and was not very secure. The room was far too small for 2 people to share. The worst thing about the room was that the bathroom was 'open plan', with just a string curtain divider between bedroom and bathroom, not giving any privacy to use the bathroom facilities. As we were 2 friends travelling we could not stay in this room and asked to be moved to a room with a door to the bathroom! The hotel manager told us the hotel was full and there were no spare rooms, however after we persisted and said there was no way we could stay in the first room, they eventually offered a double room, which was more like the junoir suite we were expecting. They seemed very reluctant to move us at first but the problem was resloved after it took quite some time to sort out. There was also a lack of attention in the breakfast room taking a long time for service and forgetting our drinks order. Tabels were not cleaned and re set for other guest sittings. There just seemed to be a lack of attention to detail. When asked for pool towels it took ten minutes or more to get some, and then they were worn and torn. The hotel does not quite match up to it's photographs! The rooms were quite dirty, although the beds were clean, the showers are not very powerful and hot water is a bit hit and miss. The safe did not work, and maintenance never actually turned up in the 5 days to fix it, which is a bit poor. Breakfast is a cold buffet of croissants, fruits, cereals […] and some cheeses. Nothing was great. Room service food is pretty dire, although I understand the food in the restaurant was nice in the evenings. The pool was very nice and the spa was good. Although this resort was comfortable and clean, it is not a 5* hotel as I have experienced. I would categorise it as 3/4* at best. The staff are very friendly, it's very quiet and the pool area is lovely, but it is very expensive. There is nowhere other than the hotel to eat, and a two course meal for two with a bottle of wine was about £65. There are […] no local shops and the hotel has no facility to buy snacks or drinks other than bar drinks. The hotel is also about a half hour drive from the centre of Marrakech, and there are only two shuttle bus trips in, at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. A car also takes up to 4 people in at 4 p.m. There are then only 2 trips back from Marrakech at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., so you are fairly restricted. Essentially, this is a nice place to stay if you really want to get away from it all and do absolutely nothing. Wenn man im Hotel bei der Reservation um ein Taxi bittet kostet dies sogar 150 MAD. Jeden Tag im Hotel zu essen wäre nicht nur zu langweilig, das gibt die Speisekarte auch nicht wirklich her, wenn man gerne gut essen geht. Hôtel avec un magnifique parc de cactus et palmiers. Très grande piscine mais malheureusemant en maintenance pendant notre séjour. Un personnel extrêmement gentil et souriant, merci à eux. Mais une hygiène des draps qui était très moyenne. Pas pour tous les budgets car plutôt cher, restaurant avec peu de choix au menu et assez cher.

De manière générale l'hôtel est accueillant et plutôt joli cependant il ne faut pas regarder les choses de près : il a besoin d'un grand coup de peinture pour rafraichir partout; dans l'hôtel et les chambres. Les serveurs sont sympas mais perdus avec n'importe quelle commande (prenez votre mal en patience pour dîner le soir dans la salle si vous avez […] faim !) Il est loin de tout (même le reste de la palmeraie) donc chaque déplacement vaut 30 euros de taxi aller retour minimum. Hôtel beaucoup trop loin du centre ville ! Cela convient bien aux personnes désireuses de se reposer ou qui sont prêtes à dépenser beaucoup d'argent dans les taxis pour faire leurs visites. Comptez environs 30 euros Aller Retour pour se rendre au centre ville et 25 euros l'aller à l'aéroport, il n'y a pas de transports en commun à côté ni de taxis qui […] attendent donc impossible de négocier les prix car les taxis doivent être commandés et les tarifs sont fixes. La navette est la plupart du temps au complet, nous avons pu en profiter qu'une ou deux fois pendant notre séjour et les horaires ne sont pas très adaptés (seulement 4 places pour celle de 16h et pas de retour !). Transats à réserver dès 8h si on veut avoir de la place aubord de la piscine ! Egalement pas assez de parasols de disponibles ! La plupart étant cassés ! Assez décus aussi du petit déjeuner (peu de choix) pour un hôtel 5*. En revanche, repas très bons au déjeuner et dîner. Piscine très bien. Chambre confortable et relativement grande. Par contre draps tachés et jaunis ce qui ne donne pas trop envie ! Read more
