Amazing hotel! The location is perfect and the customer service was great. We were very impressed with the suite; it was elegant and classy. Everything was clean and management even let us keep our car there after we checked out so that we could walk around Newport for the day :)

Absolutely loved our room and the location. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Our one gripe is the cleanliness. Our room had cobwebs and the bathroom had...ahem...hair in the shower. So gross. .

Loved this place and would move in if I could! The suite was enormous, the kitchen was well equipped, and the bedroom was roomy. The location was right smack in the center of town and the staff extremely helpful. I don't have one complaint.

We had a 2 bedroom queen suite on the 2nd floor. Beds were advertised as queen sized, but were much smaller, more like full size, had I known this we would have stayed elsewhere, as there were 4 adults among us, and this was not comfortable at all, and the price of the room was very high relative to other rooms elsewhere advertising 2 Queens. Also, […] the sofa had a bad odor to it., like body odor. Although everything else appeared clean, this was a huge turn off. The overall upkeep was not great. As we were going out, we noticed our room door latch did not work properly, and a simple push could open the closed " locked" door. We had to lock our valuables in our car. Continental breakfast was lame, sparse, and coffee and water in carafes not hot at all. Again, you could find much better elsewhere. Your right in the hart of Newport/Thames St. You can walk to restaurants and bars in minutes. The rooms are big,clean and comfortable. I'll be back to stay again next time I'm in town.

great place - room was so nice! sadly, the bar downstairs had a band playing 'til nearly 2 am and you could hear every word. Rattled the mirrors in the bathroom! Would have been so mad if I had brought kids. Front desk woman was WONDERFUL and the place was spotless and very roomy. I'd definitely return if I knew the music wouldn't bother me :)

The location is the best. Even in winter, there are things to do. Lovely shops that aren't crazy crowded, local coffee shops where you can read or play chess, ice skating with music. What a wonderful property to usher in the New Year. Room was very comfortable. We were so pleased with the living area and separate kitchenette. It was nice to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sunset from the balcony. We rented 3 rooms and were extremely happy with every aspect of our stay. The rooms were immaculate, spacious, newly remodeled. The service was very friendly and helpful. Location in the heart of the shopping district and next door to the ice skating rink. We had a great time and will definitely return.

This is an excellent hotel to stay in the heart of Newport. Excellent location with a short work to city center and all attractions, including the Cliff Walk and mensions. The hotel occupies a historic building dating to 1835. Large rooms, high ceilings, great kitchenette. We had one negative experience when we stayed at the hotel during Nov. 23-24. […] Our room was on the second floor and there was a loud party going on on the 3rd floor well pass 11:00pm. The insulation between floors appeared to be unsifficient. We could not go to sleep because of loud music. Everything was excellent. The only negative I can say was that when we first arrived into the room, there was dried urine on the floor in front of the toilet bowl. I did not report it to the staff, nor did I tell my Wife or the other 4 couples that I was traveling with (who had there own rooms). I just cleaned it up and kept it to myself. Breakfast was nothing to get excited about, but there was a lot to do nearby. Shops downstairs and within walking distance. The rooms are very nice, shower was awesome, and the bed was comfortable.

My wife & I stayed at the Newport Club on a Thursday night and had to listen to the reggae band playing in the bar downstairs until 1am. The hotel sent security up to check the sound levels and it was determined that the music was being heard at 47 decibels. That's the equivalent of 2 people having a normal conversation at approx. 3 feet away. In your […] bedroom... At midnight. The bass guitar was loud enough to vibrate the floors of the bedroom & bathroom. The real shame is that the room was absolutely beautiful & we were very excited to stay there until we got back to the room at 11pm ready to settle in for the night and started hearing the band. Perfect location!!! The townhouse was awesome. We had three balconies with views of a marina and the Newport Bridge. We walked everywhere! I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Our only issue was with the hotel staff. They were extremely rude to my husband. The front-desk lady mumbled, and when he nicely asked her to repeat what she said, […] she yelled it at him. No exaggeration! Then we asked for more pillows, and we had to call three times. They came with no pillowcases. If you can overlook that, you will LOVE this place. We rented a 2-bedroom townhouse while we were attending a wedding in Newport. There are many restaurants and coffee shops nearby. The townhouse had a decent kitchen, livingroom and diningroom. Each floor had small balconies from which you could see the water in one direction. The 2 bedrooms were adequate although not large. There were 1 1/2 baths, one […] with a large shower. Although not luxurious, the amenities were decent and the space was fine for the 3 of us. However, the hotel did not address a big problem well. When we arrived on Friday afternoon, the air conditioning was only working on the bottom floor and not in the two upstairs bedrooms. The desk staff and the maintenance men were unable to fix the A/C. After Friday, no one came to address the problem. They did offer to move us to another townhouse somewhere else in Newport, but we opted to stay. They did supply fans. We negotiated a reduction, given the heat of the weekend (in the 80s) and the inconvenience. The hotel staff's attitudes at times were extremely helpful in terms of guiding us, supplying maps. At other times, they seemed somewhat indifferent to our needs. They did help with keeping our valuables in a safe behind the desk. There is one free parking spot per townhouse and no additional paid spaces. We paid $30/car to park overnight at the end of the street but moved our cars the next day to a residential area. We checked out the breakfast one morning and did not go back because it was not very good. Read more

Although a beautiful location, hotel staff lacks hospitality skills and were not accomodating. Called front desk to ask question regarding wifi and no one answered on the first call and the second call I was abruptly told that she was too busy to help and I would have to stop by front desk. This hotel is not very big and not once saw it busy.

My husband and I stayed at the Newport Bay Club and Resort which is conveniently located in the heart of the tourist area of Newport. This hotel is within walking distance of many restaurants and quaint shops. The suite we had was very comfortable with a small kitchen containing a microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher. The only difficult part of staying at NBC&R is the parking situation and having to carry suitcases to the room. Our room also faced the street right across from where a building was being "disassembled" at 7 am promptly EVERY morning so there was no need to set an alarm!
