"Not ready for prime time."
The room had a musty moldy smell and the air conditioning was broken. The staff seemed disorganized and not prepared for the level of service of a hotel at this price level.

This hotel has a good location and the staff is very helpful. The room was a little small, but that's not an issue for short stays. The location is the selling point for this hotel, lots of bars and restaurants near by and a park for running.

"New property, good staff, great location"
This place is very new. Photos are representative of the luxurious design aesthetic. Although not every desk person spoke great English, they all tried hard and were effective. The Condesa location is walking distance to lots of great restaurants and shops. If you are a dog lover, the park across the street is wonderful dog watching.

"New Hip Hotel in Condesa"
Very hip hotel in the heart of Condesa. The staff was very nice and welcomed me with a complimentary beverage. The front of the hotel is hard to find so look carefully - it looks like a regular apartment building which is kind of cool because it makes you feel like you are just another resident of Condesa. The rooms are small like a hotel in NYC but they were very well designed and I didn't feel like the size of the room was an issue. Definitely will stay here again.

"Stylish hotel in DF's coolest neighborhood"
The Hippodrome Hotel in Condesa is brand new. The rooms are stylish and super comfortable. The location of the hotel is also perfect for anyone looking to explore Mexico City. La Condesa is my favorite neighborhood in the city. You can get yourself to 50+ restaurants/bars/cafes/shops within 5 minutes on foot. The only drawback to the hotel is that there's no bar/restaurant, but there's plenty of night life in the area to make up for it. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Mexico City. It's a good deal for the comfort, style, and location.

"too much design, too little service & function"
Arrived at about 23H30 [night], the night before our wedding. With no-one at reception, we waited for about 30 minutes before a sleepy eye'd man dropped in from an upper level. The elevator wasn't working so our heavy bags got carried up the narrow step, by us, while he stood and watched. Once in the room, all was good, comfortable, plush. Except for the bathroom vanity where there's no space to put anything. Too much design, too little service and functionality.

No había elevador.

"BUENO A SECAS"

"A lovely hotel in an ideal neighborhood!"
05/03/16 LibrarianLiz549 Chicago, Illinois
We stayed at the Hippodrome in April for four nights. Our room, a suite, was spacious, pretty, and very comfortable. We loved the design - modern and elegant. And the staff was gracious and welcoming. The location is perfect with its proximity to one of Condessa's lovely parks. It's close to plenty of restaurants and a short walk away from Roma, one of the DF's coolest neighborhoods.

the location of this hotel is great, its centrally located in one of my favorite neighborhoods la condesa which reminds me of the village in new york very good restaurants and its not to far from the airport. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are great and very clean bathrooms very large which is unusual for small boutique hotels, I asked the front desk to arrange a massage and within 1 hour they had someone at the hotel, thats service i highly recommend this hotel.

"Great Boutique Hotel"
04/22/16 Jemima H County Durham, United Kingdom
Lovely, intimate boutique hotel. Nice location, with good restaurants, park and attractive art deco streets all round. My only criticism is not so much the hotel but perhaps more the mexican way. When we requested water for our room it took 2.5 hours to arrive! The same with breakfast. This could not be delivered before 8.30 which is not brilliant if you are leaving early for a day out to the pyramids. This was the case in both hotels we stayed in so is typical of Mexico rather than a fault of the hotel.

I recently stayed at the Hippodrome Hotel and I was fascinated by the art décor. The room is very well displayed down to the last detail! The room itself is very comfortable and very beautiful. The staff provide excellent service, being very nice and attentive. The hotel itself is located in the heart of La Condesa which is very convenient. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking for a wonderful experience in Mexico City.

Excellent service and well appointed rooms. Service staff was very attentive to some minor mechanical problems encountered on check-in. My only minor complaint was that rooms were a little on the small side and hot water was sometimes late in coming

I've been debating over whether to write a review for this hotel, mainly because the staff there were all really nice. But good intentions don't make a good hotel - I was misled by all the positive reviews on here and so maybe this will help prevent someone else from having a similar experience. First the good things: Things are kept very clean, beds are comfy, and the location is really pleasant and quiet. And now for the not so good: 1. We booked the executive suite. When we arrived, they charged us up front for the full amount, and then proceeded to bring us to a tiny closet-like room with a double bed. We told them this wasn't what we booked. So back to the reception, where the staff stood around the computer for a good 30 minutes before telling us, "Okay we have another room you might like better." Then they brought us to the executive suite room. Ummm... what was that all about, and what possible reason was there for not taking us to the correct room in the first place? 2. Asked if they had an iron. No iron. Okay, not a big issue. However their website states, "Our personalized butlers are available for any request..." Now this is actually a little bit funny because there is nothing even remotely close to a butler at this hotel. There's a guy who brings the breakfast trays to the rooms. He will push the elevator button for you too, if you're waiting for it. Is he supposed to be the "butler"? 3. Breakfast is at either 8:30 or 10:00. For me, these are strange hours for breakfast as I'm usually awake by 7. We asked if we could have breakfast earlier. "No." Breakfast is a pot of coffee and a croissant. There are only 16 rooms in the hotel. Really, they couldn't bring it earlier? And out of 4 mornings, twice we got only one pot of coffee instead of two (there were two of us the entire time). 4. By evening we realized the a/c in our room did not work. It was blowing room temperature air and not cooling at all. Contacted the reception, who brought up 2 fans. We slept with the windows open and fans on but it was quite warm and not comfortable. The next morning we told them we needed a room with working a/c or would have to go elsewhere (it was in the 80s). They very graciously moved us to the other executive suite, where the a/c worked for about 8 hours and then started blowing only room temperature air just like the previous room. When we notified them, they didn't seem to have any idea what to do about it, but did transfer the 2 fans to our new room. 5. There are no real amenities to speak of. We had a tray of dried fruit and gumdrops when we arrived. And 2 bottled waters. The bottled water was never replaced. The only option was purchasing the more expensive in-room bottle of water. 6. This is not a fault of the hotel, however if you plan on traveling around by subway (strongly recommended as traffic is often a nightmare and the subway is fast, clean and inexpensive), it is a LONG walk to/from the nearest Metro station (20+ minutes and I'm a fast walker). The hotel has a car which is considerably more expensive than a taxi or uber. The driver seemed very knowledgeable about the city and was quite a nice guy. I loved Mexico City and can't wait to return, and it would be great to stay in Condesa again because the area is so charming.... just not at the Hippodrome. Don't believe everything you read on Trip Advisor!

"A Warm and Welcoming Hotel"
03/16/16 WABob Olympia, WA
I recently spent 5 nights at this wonderful boutique hotel. It is located in a nice neighborhood on a small side street which makes for a quiet and peaceful setting in bustling Mexico City. As other reviewers have noted, the the rooms are fashionably designed and the beds are very comfortable. But what sets this hotel apart from others is the warm, welcoming and dedicated staff. Mr. Rojas and his staff made every effort to make our stay pleasant enjoyable. In addition to making our stay at the hotel pleasant, they went out of their way to provide helpful information in getting around Mexico City. And the most helpful was arranging transportation and a guide for our group for each day we were there. If you have the chance, do not pass up the opportunity to have Mr. Rojas arrange for you to spend a day or two with the wonderful Mr. Roberto Fernandez. Roberto was not only our guide, but was a great friend to our group. HIs ability to get around Mexico City was simply astonishing, and his knowledge of the history and culture is encyclopedic. But most important, his genuine concern that we enjoy his beautiful city made for a very special few days. I highly recommend the Hippodrome and Mr. Roberto.
