i would reccomend this property to anyone who is looking for the ammenities offered by like properties in BIg Bear Lake and the value you will receive if you dont mind staying in Big Bear City, its a 10 minute easy drive to the Villiage - we will be repeat visitors and guests to this property

It's a little way from the village but it's super cute. The sweetheart tub was wonderful. Right in front of the fireplace and big enough for my big guy and me. Everything was super clean from the tub to the bathroom to the bedroom! I would totally stay here again.

We loved the fireplace right in front of our bed while we watched TV and enjoyed take-out. The room was very clean and well kept. After the drive up, the hot shower was wonderful. It was VERY affordable and the owners were super nice. We'll definitely be back.

Booked 2 nights through Hotels.com. Prior to arrival was called by the owner to inform that the location to check in was sometimes tricky and he wanted to ensure we made it. Upon check-in, was upgraded to a house instead of a small cabin. These extra efforts were greatly appreciated. We stayed at the "Southern Comfort." Positives: Owner called to confirm and explain check-in procedure, very friendly and a pleasure to speak to. Stated that he had built the cottages in the 70's and stayed in this one recently. Negatives: Clerk at check-in/out. Still looks like it was built in the 70's. Tacky wallpaper, too dark and cluttered. The Jaccuzzi tub with a rock surround takes […] up too much room and is a real toe masher. The rock fireplace has a small tv above it that is over 5 feet off the ground , you can fix the crick you will get in your neck by running into the mantle that sticks out 8 inches into the path through the room. The bed was insanely comfortable! Add that to the crisp mountain air and I didn't even care about the events in town. I would go here just relax and sleep! The in room spa tub sends it over the top. 30min in there and off to bed and you sleep like a baby! Can't wait to go again!

The cottages are a very good size and clean. There is a jacuzzi tub in the room, we didn't have time to use. There is also an outside porch area to sit. The room is very cute in decoration, more homey than stylish. The windows had blinds and curtains, but still not completely private from the outside because of a window fan that could not be removed. […] The cottage we stayed in was attached to one other cottage, did not hear our neighbors or any outside loud noises. Very quiet. Lots of storage, great shower, dressing room area had a small fridge, microwave, toaster, dishes (for 3-4), small sink and counter area, large closet, ironing board/iron. They offer a large selection of pillows on the bed, the bed was ok, The dressing room area had a large tile counter top, some tiles were loose. I don't know; Check-out time too early-11 am, though I know it's quite common; Sink by the microwave couldn't drain fast; Best part: fireplace and in-room jacuzzi! The room had been lemon-oiled. The smell was still there two days later. Also, I suggest you consider equipping the beds with European style quilt comforters. They are warm and cozy. The sheets and bedspreads went all over the place while we were sleeping. My German wife converted us to the comforters and I am totally sold on them.

We enjoyed our weekend; it went by much too quickly. One of the main reasons for visiting Big Bear was to get away from the heat of Las Vegas. The rooms are across the street from a busy gas station, it is loud until about 1-2 am. There was no clock in the room although the paperwork provided stated there was. The WiFi was disappointing because the connection was inconsistent. I lost it more than had it. The motel (not really cottages) is right on Hwy 18 so it is convenient, but is on the far end of town, not close to lake; several miles from The Village. I did not see any cottages at the location I was sent to. The room rate was very reasonably priced ( June). I called the number to discuss WiFi but no one answered. Parking was very narrow. They gave us one of the cottages with 2 rooms with an adjoining wall. We called and asked for the stand alone rooms and they had one available. They had someone come down and trade keys within 15 minutes. I believe it was the Owner that gave us the keys and was the one who renovated these cottages several years ago and gave us the inside information on the history. This place was cozy and it definately set the stage for a most romantic weekend. It has a beautiful twin shower so that you and your partner can shower together. Good for the price, however, if you are planning on sleeping before 10 pm or after 6 am, the traffic noise is very loud. Also, there is no heat in the bathroom or kitchenette and winter it takes great courage to get into the shower.

We were celebrating our 1 year anniversary in Big Bear and decided on Cathy's because of the cute cottage like style. The check in process was quick and easy. The gentleman even recommended a FANTASTIC restaurant close by. We stayed in number 6 which is attached to another cabin, but we only heard the people when they were closing the door to leave […] the hotel on Sunday. The fireplace..... PERFECT! The tub (even though it took a long time to fill because of how large it was) was great way to relax after a day of snow sports. There are dual shower heads, a full set of dishes including a much needed corkskrew and wine glasses, microwave, refridgerator, and many more little touches that really made our weekend special. Even when the hairdryer died, they were very prompt and friendly in making sure I had one that worked! The only thing I was wishing for that they didnt have (and it wasnt a huge deal) is heated floors in the bathroom because it was 10 degrees outside. I surprised my boyfriend with a trip to Big Bear for his birthday. I'm so happy I picked Cathy's Cottages! We stayed in Cottage 225- The room was so cute with a big jacuzzi tub, gas fireplace, king bed, and dual showerheads in the standup shower. We spent a lot of time curled up on the loveseat in front of the fireplace. DVD player built into the tv […] and there is a Redbox at the Circle K on the corner. It's a short drive to the Village and other restaurants. You will hear the occasional car drive by but I did not have a problem with that. There is a coffeemaker in the cottage but we opted to grab coffee at the Circle K. Room also had some complimentary toiletries which is great because I forgot toothpaste! The room also has a mini fridge and a microwave and a small table for dining. Check in is at their other property which I did not find difficult. They are friendly and give you a list of recommended restaurants. You can also buy candles, bath beads for the tub, and snacks. I will definitely return in the future! Read more

Not close to anything but a Circle K. Right off the main road on the way into town so a lot of road noise. For the price it should have some upgrades like newer carpet, digital microwave and a flat screen TV. The Jacuzzi is just a home spa.
