Great hotel for a relaxing getaway. Hotel staff were all very nice and accommodating. Apartments were comfortable and well serviced. Staff responded quickly, politely and efficiently to all requests. Location is ideal for relaxing by the pool or beach but it is isolated and requires a drive to other sites or entertainment. Overall excellent.

Cotton Bay is tucked away at the top of the island and makes it really difficult to get out from here and see the rest. The resort itself is nice if you want to spend time on a beach/pool but if you want to see the rest of the island over multiple days then be prepared to spend a lot of time driving. Not to mention, DO NOT TRUST GOOGLE MAPS directions […] to here. The first Cas En Bas road leading to Cotton Bay is no longer used and we barely made it through in a mini suv (rav4). I think the hotel could make an effort in working with the local authorities to have some signage put up that the road is not in drivable condition. Soufriere is a good 90 min away through a long winding steep road - make sure you go one street over to the left to continue on the highway once you get to Soufriere. Read more

Our stay at CBV was a good one. We rented a car which came in handy to drive around the island to visit different beaches etc. Our villa was spacious and clean. My wife and I had the fortunate luck of occupying the entire villa by ourselves. The front desk was fairly quick to respond to our requests (circuit breaker broke, couple other minor things). […] The amenities are great. Everything on the compound, pool, beach and front desk, is all within walking distance. The location of the hotel itself is a bit hidden, but locals are more than willing to help with directions. We decided to pick this hotel amoung all the others for a few reasons. For one, its secluded. Its away from everything but still close enough to Rodney Bay if you want to go shopping, restaurants, night life etc...Mostly, we loved having our very own villa, we dont like being in a hotel and this was like having our own home! All three bedrooms in the […] terracotta villa was beautiful, and all were air conditioned. The master bedroom was awesome, and the bathroom was very well done. Having our own kitchen was great, we did cook a few small meals more for breakfast, lunch and a few snacks. Otherwise we went out for dinner. The private terrace with dipping pool was amazing, perfect for cooling down as there is no a/c in the living room and kitchen downstairs. Only reason why I put a 4 for comfort of your room. Yes its St. Lucia and its great to enjoy the warmth that it has to offer. However, it does get hot and we had to go upstairs sometimes to really cool down. Food on the resort was fantastic. The beach club 14 61 was fantastic and never had a bad meal. We tried Piano Piano and was also great, we were the only ones there when we went, but it was also the slow time of year as we went in June. Beach was beautiful, they did pick up the seaweed.It was great on our last day there to sit and enjoy cotton bay. We would love to come back here some day, the people here are amazing and really make this resort great. Perfect for any family or couple. Read more

Well, where can I begin. Firstly the staff.... their manners were impeccable & always willing to assist. Place has a natural tropical feel to it. Lots of flora & fauna. But also, lots of privacy. It's not that far from the airport (Vigie Field)...about 20-25mins drive without traffic. The ride by taxi will cost about US$30. The food was nice but costly... […] I would recommend you eat outside (waaaayyyy cheaper.) My wife and I really had a good time at Cotton Bay. All of the accomodations are villas, and we booked the smallest one, because we weren't bringing the kids. Two bedrooms, 3 bathrooms with tile throughout. Complete kitchen and washer/dryer in unit. The beach was also very nice, if you are looking for a place to walk or swim without being hassled. […] There is probably a mile of beach and Cotton Bay is the only resort on it. There is a kite surfing lessons place on the beach, and there were usually a couple of people trying that, and one other small bar on the beach. Plenty of beach chairs available at the resort. they also have snorkle equipment to use for free, and kyacks, which we didn't didn't use so i don't know if they are free. The food is good, but not a large menu. The main resturaunt, the 14 60, has breakfast lunch and dinner. Good fish and they usually have a pasta dish. Their up-scale resturaunt, Piano Piano, is also good (the passionfruit Brulee in paticular) but I would sample the local resturaunts rather than eat at Cotton Bay all the time. There are many local options. We had a great vacation, and we will be back. Read more

This place was absolutely amazing. Very upscale and welcoming with excellent staff, facilities, and food. The beach bar features great food served close enough to the Atlantic to toss your silverware in the ocean. My wife and I rarely found occasion to leave the property. The king bed mattresses would be my only complaint, being a little hard and featuring […] a few noticeable springs, but aside from that I can't say a single bad word about our accommodations there. The gym and spa are also very nice, and we walked around the lovely main pool but never used it. The breeze here keeps the temperature on the beach nice and comfortable but the water can seem a little chilly at times - though never such that you wouldn't take a dip in the beautiful ocean. The is a ton of great hiking adjacent to the hotel thanks to a development that never made it very far. My wife and I hiked about 30 minutes to a secluded beach where we were alone with the crabs. The hotel is a great place, don't get me wrong. The food is EXCELLENT, all three restaurants were great and we returned time and time again even though we had a car and also explored the island. Also, the large pool for the property is AMAZING and quiet! It is very big and also there is a small wading pool for small children, which I appreciate in keeping […] diapers out of the main pool. The staff was wonderful and quick to help with anything. Our internet went down and they had it up very quickly. Our phones went out when we had a short power outtage from the weather and they were able to fix that very quickly as well. The villas are beautiful and we not only had our own little pool to relax in at the end of the night but we also had a hot tub on the roof which was great for star gazing. We had a blender and mixed up a few drinks and hung out in our little pool as much as we hung out in the large pool. Not all the villas have full house air-conditioning - only in the bedrooms (so make sure you ask and know what you are renting). There are slats in some of the windows - shutters really, without the window behind it to keep the air in. So your A/C will be working double time to keep the room cool and bugs get into your bedroom, mainly mosquitos. The property should really look into closing these windows because not only does it waste the A/C that is trying to cool the room but the bugs bites we all have come home with are annoyingly itchy but hopefully will not leave scars, I have (not joke) over 50 bug bites up and down my legs. The beds are a little hard and not the most comfortable that I have slept in. Overall, I feel the pictures and the website are amazing but do not portray the real hotel that I stayed at. Read more

We spent a wonderful week in St. Lucia (July 17-July 24, 2010). We travel with friends (another couple) and we were upgraded to a 3 bedroom townhouse -- that was very much appreciated. We had more than enough room to spread out. The kitchen was awesome and we prepared several meals in the unit. We really like mixing in with the local population and […] going to the grocery store as well as shopping for souvenirs. Loved the IGA as well as other small grocery stores. Love Caribbean produce. We enjoyed the plunge pool as well as the resort pool. The staff was very accommodating especially Abdullah and Jason. This property was a bit out of the way but located in a very upscale area of he island. Taxis to Rodney Bay and Castries can be a bit expensive but we were on vacation -- so we splurged a little. The only negative I would like to mention is that screens should be placed on all sliding doors in the unit. That way, one can catch that wonderful Caribbean breeze without being bothered by mosquitoes or lizards. That being said, I would recommend this property and we would definitely stay there again. Oh, by the way, did i mention the work out room--very nice! Hope to visit St. Lucia again in the near future. The people were wonderful!! Read more

Cotton Bay looks just like the pictures you see of beautiful Caribbean resorts. We had three balconies to enjoy. The pool was wonderful and huge. If we needed anything, our needs were met immediately. The resort is off the beaten path, but that was actually what we were looking for. Family two kids (4 & 2) march 13 for 10 days. We had a great time, due to the excellent weather and our two love the beach & pool & swim a lot, often 4 hours at a time. pool was great. Good temperature & clean. It is 5 feet deep throughout. The beach is great too, yes some seaweed. So what. The Pigeon Island Is White sand, no weed or surf. great for […] little ones. Our 2 bed apt was good. AC in both bedrooms. But none in sitting room. Poor lighting too. DVD players only play US DVD so bring portable & cable. Power is uk socket 230 v. Kitchen is small but limited equip. Big us fridge freezer, oven grill & dish washer. We had a cleaner most days, who made beds & emptied bins. Sweeping & mopping variable. But heh this is the Caribbean. Service in general is Variable & slow. All staff were nice & friendly. We went self catering as full board was an extra £2k. prices high & quality of food variable. Disappointed with fruit & juices at breakfast. Great to be there off season it was quiet. often had pool to ourselves . We supplemented our kitchen with duty free from UK. local shops in Rodney bay are us mall style & prices! Not much local fresh which you have to seek out on the street. Grapefruit and salad stuff was good. But we loved the weather and warm and sea and pool temp. Come prepared and you will have a great stay, don't expect 4 star. Read more

Unfortunately Cotton Bay didn't meet our expectations. We stayed there for 8 nights with our son (8 yrs). The kids club was by far the best plus about this complex. The Calabash apartment was OK. Very small wardrobe space. Good showers. Good air-con, thats about it. The Wi-fi only worked in the main bedroom or by certain parts of the pool (not a major […] issue for most.) The main pool was great in size but a little dirty at times. It had a great kids and baby pool #overcrowded most afternoon#, pool towels available most mornings #in bin bags at the weekend# Majority of staff were lazy #not reception or the kids club#. The grounds and outside areas were extremely tatty and in need of updating and repair. Not a great beach. The deli was a bit of a joke as it advertised fresh croissants and bread, but it never had any. The food was good at the beach bar - we didn't eat at the Piano, Piano although I heard it was good. We went to the BBQ night expecting a full on BBQ atmosphere, but it was just a small buffet in the restaurant with a chap bbq-ing on a small bbq which eventually went out and he had to relight it!! We used the take-away service once for a pizza and it took an hour! Our son absolutely loved the kids club and made lots of friends. They arranged lots of events and even a football match with a local team which he loved. If it wasn't for our son loving the kids club and giving us some 'relaxation' time I think we would of checked out..sorry. Rodney Bay was great. Read more

Just got back from a week at cotton bay village with husband and 3 year old (nov 2011). We booked 1 bed villa without pool but were upgraded to 2 bed. Lots of space, huge American fridge, dishwasher and washing machine. Air con in bedrooms worked well and beds comfy. Wifi router in room was free. Great mix between having space to cook but also good […] restaurant on site. Restaurant on beach not cheap, but we have been to hotels with much scarier prices. Staff lovely. Deli was closed but hotel arranged for the items we needed to be delivered. We rented a car for a few days and drove to shops on rodney bay but if we went again would just get a taxi as cheaper (16 USD each way). You cannot walk anywhere from hotel. Resort was very quiet as off season so we had pool to ourselves and one other family most of the time. Piano piano closed as hotel too quiet but concierge sorted us good alternative in rodney bay and even gave us a lift in. Rodney bay only 10 mins drive away so not too far for evening out. Kids club fantastic. Our 3 year old loved it and kept asking to go - we were very confident leaving him with juan and she also babysat one evening. Spa also lovely. I saw lots of comments on trip Advisor criticising beach - water was not as blue as carribean sea side but after pottering around a few others this was actually a better beach for toddlers than some others. Hotel is only development in the bay so really feels away from it all. Apparently there is a kite surfing school at one end of the beach but I suspect too off season for it to operate. Minor niggle was that DVD player would not play uk DVDs (odd as apparently most villas are actually owned by Brits). Also room 60 was near pool pump So slightly noisy but not enough for us to bother asking to move (which I am sure hotel would have done if we asked as staff were lovely). In summary good family hotel if you want chilled out break - we will definitely go back. Read more

The hotel is very different from any 5 Star or middle east experience but its a very natural place with a nice pool & beach. Good for relaxing but not much to do. The Deli onsite […] is very expensive and not very well stocked. The kids club was lovely and very friendly. However I am used to more security at kids club and found that one time I picked my daughter up the staff were in another room & she was alone. The villas are all beautiful places. The beach restaurant is a lovely place to eat and the tropical weather is very refreshing ! The spa was very basic. The massages were ok. Overall a nice relaxing back to nature place but a bit boring compared to the big chain hotels that offer so much more. Read more
