Clean, cozy and quiet! My partner and I had a good time and also liked that it's dog friendly! Short 10 min walk to Parsons Beach, 10 min drive to all the restaurants and shops! I would stay again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Quiet nicely appointed cottage, excellent location"
Situated between Wells and Kennebunkport, near the Rachel Carson Nature Preserve, two bedroom two bathroom cottage with full kitchen. This is our second year staying at Shorelands and we will be back.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice Place if You know What You're in For"
We stayed here over a weekend in September. It was a nice place, but don't expect a hotel-level attention to detail. There were a few holes in the drapes and everything looked a bit lived in. That said, it was within a mile of a beautiful beach and about half the price of other places in the area. I'd definitely stay again, no question.Genuine Expedia guest review
I felt like I was stepping back in time at this place. Far from modern, but well maintained and charming. Don't worry, theres tv etc. The mini houses are split in two. Our side had a full master bedroom and the front room had a full bed and a twin. The rooms were spotless, which is most important to me while traveling - so bravo to their cleaning staff! […] Minutes away from the heart of town. There's homemade muffins in the morning, get there quick cause they go fast! I chose this place because they're pet friendly. They only allow you to walk your dog across the street very close to traffic. If they had something a little safer it would have been perfect. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice but small"
Nice cottages, but small, which got a bit Closter phobic with a family of four. Good location, not far from Kennebunk/Kennebunkport and the beach. But, with small children the walk to Parson's beach is a bit far and Kennebunk has nicer beaches. Refundable beach parking pass available at office for Kennebunk beaches, which was a pleasant surprise. Nice […] pool and hot tub, but the for sale signs kinda take away from it and some of the grounds aren't really maintained. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The bathroom was tiny, thank God we aren't overweight otherwise we wouldn't have fit in the shower stall. The location was why we stayed there - close to beach and to town, and inexpensive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"It's a place to sleep."
Most of the cottages are very old. There are some newer ones but they are double the price. There was mold around showers. The a/c filter were very dirty not recommend if you have alergies. Pool was nice but old. Play ground for kids was very well used needs to updated. Seem like some things are just there to hit a check in a box. Staff took our trash […] out and teft our cottage door open and unlocked. When I talk to others said it happened to them too. So be ware if you are brave enough to stay don't leave any valuables in rooms. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Okay - great location and cozy feel to the place"
I booked a "standard room" with 2 double beds but we ended up with a one bed and pullout sofa couch - that wasn't even a double size but a twin. I would have complained, however every room in the place was booked. The pool was a nice feature and the location of the hotel is great. It was good for a long weekend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We rented a two bedroom with kitchenette. It was just what wee needed. Two full bathrooms. My husband and I have three children. Small playground also kept them busy while we got ready to head out.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A Good Pre-Season Value"
We really enjoyed our stay at this cottage style motel. It was private feeling, relaxing, and had everything we needed for our week long stay. While the fit and finish of the cottage was far from perfect, it had a homelike atmosphere and was a good place for bringing my family along. The location was within walking distance to a pleasant beach, and […] within reasonable driving distance to the southern beaches. The place is dog friendly, but the motel management charges an additional fee when you arrive. In addition, they ask that you walk your dog off property and clean up after them. Be forewarned that if Fido likes to sleep with you, they expect you to bring your own bed coverings. Not wholly unreasonable, but also not quite what the usual pet owning traveler is expecting. "perfect for our needs"
We were worried about this motel after reading some of the reviews, but did not wish to spend $600.00 for a two night stay in Kennebuckport. So glad we didn't and decided to stay here. It was clean, warm, and had anything we needed. The staff was pleasant and helpful in giving directions and suggestions on places we needed to go. Would stay again without […] a second thought. "Great, quiet and cozy location"
This was a well-equipped cabin which was cozy and very comfortable. Great grounds and non intrusive staff. 2 miles from downtown Kennebunkport but right across from the beach. My husband and I were thrilled and will definitely go back!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not exactly as advertised"
My family and I were under the impression that our room would have 2 double beds when in fact it had a double and a pull out love seat. It worked for the time we were there, but we would have preferred what we requested. The room came with a mini refrigerator as well as a toaster and dishes and utensils. It was nice to be able to eat in the room and […] not have to go out for every meal. The room was cozy overall and very clean. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Perfect location for a day at the beach! Drive (2 minutes) or walk (10 mins) down to Parson's beach- beautiful and not at all crowded. Also a 5-10 minute drive to anything else you could want- grocery, drug store, shopping, dining... This is no fancy hotel, but they supplied us with just about everything we needed (no clock though... strange). We were […] very comfortable and happy. Nice place for kids too, and quiet. "Not what the description says..."
The cabin I was given was a very old, rustic cottage. It was clean, but older, smaller and far more outdated than the picture and description show. The "access to private beach" was probably the most disappointing as it is actual a walk across a busy street, up to the next intersection, than another 10 minute walk down the side of another very busy […] street. It was very disappointing. We left and did not stay the 2nd night even though it was already paid for...feel ad on hotels.com for this place was a very big misrepresentation of what you get when you arrive. "Close to great beach"
I thought the location, room and help at the front desk were great. The beach is a short drive away but parking is limited but there were bikes to check out for free that you could ride to the beach for a quick dip. I wouldn't say this is a place to go for a romantic get away but rather a place to go with the family. Very kid friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Not even a little pet friendly. Dogs are allowed the confines of the room or across the street to use the bathroom. Rooms are small, bathroom is tiny and it was a ways from town. Not a recommend in my book.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Location is good, service is excellent"
service was very good and responsive. room was very small and somewhat primitive. Bathroom had no ventilation, inspite of the window which we could not open. Average to low overall price/value.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were concerned as we pulled up to the cottages. They are older and do not make a good first impression. However, we gave it a chance and were glad we did, We had a two room cottage. It was clean and filled with utensils we could use. The beds were very comfortable. The location was good. The cottage was horrible. It was attached to another which I was under the impression that they were individual cottages. The parking was terrible. "close to Kinnebunkport and Wells Maine"
The cottage was clean and comfortable but the bathroom was very small with only a window for ventilation. not very goodGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The location is wonderful. A short walk to a beautiful beach is better than most places in this price range can offer. It is not exactly pet friendly, but they are allowed. You may only "walk" your dog in spaces that are right next to a very busy road or in a cramped fenced space in a corner of an adjacent lot. Dogs are only allowed on the beach before […] 9 am and after 5pm and they must stay on the river side of the beach. The standard room is very cramped, but can be comfortable if you don't want to really use the kitchen. There are many great places to eat in the area and you can BBQ outside. "not quite worth the price"
Room was very small, run down and of poor quality. Linen was stained and beds were very uncomfortable. Kitchenette was convienient but very small and the available "supplies" were limited and dirty. "Basic and cramped, but good location"
A basic semi-detached unit convenient to a beach walkway. Good to be a distance away from the 'mayhem' of downtown Kennebumkport on a weekend. However, it would be impossible for larger people or more than two adults as there is just not enough room. The bathroom is tiny - a larger person could not comfortably use it. The second bed could be removed […] (or have single beds only) and a couple of comfortable chairs substituted for the 2 small wooden stools. Although the electrical kitchen appliances looked OK and worked fine, most were out of reach of powerpoints and therefore had to be moved every time they were used. Outside, all-night, security lighting easily penetrated the flimsy window fittings/curtains.. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Grand kids thought they were in heaven"
We booked this visit on line. We arrived after 10pm so we weren't sure what we would find in the morning. The kids woke up and peeked out the window and screamed with delight. A playground right outside the window. Clean and neat grounds with pleasant staff and very accommodating. We stayed in room 10 which had 2 beds in the front room and more that could be used in the kitchen area. Since I booked on line I didn't know there were 2 beds so I asked for a crib. The staff had it set up in the room when we arrived. We were less than 1/2 mile from the beach. A very clean and quiet beach with shells for the kids and a beautiful shoreline for an ocean lover. We will be back.
09/13/14 Bonni B Hinsdale, New Hampshire, United States
I guess by calling it a resort, they can justify the price. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable of the area, but the room wasn't worth the price I was charged. Both the double beds were comfortable, but between them was dresser that was a good 4-6 inches taller than the bed and my husband hit his head on it a few times while he was sleeping. Both of the beds were very close to the wall so either you have to squeeze between the bed and wall or climb over the other person in bed with you to get in or out of it.. The "kitchenette" consisted of a 2 burner hot plate, a microwave, a fridge and a small sink. The table was really tiny. In the bathroom, when you sat on the toilet, if you shut the door all the way it banged your knees. The shower was small and the shower curtain had mildew on the top. The tv was really small and there wasn't a clock in the room On the plus side, even though there wasn't a coffee maker in the room, there was coffee in the lobby early in the morning and the muffins were delish
"Quiet and well located"
09/02/14 Nuno B Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Was there for a long weekend and it was a overall good experience. The staff were nice and accommodating, and the rooms were very clean. They allowed us to use the facilities (except the room) even after we checked out, and there were bikes and other sports equipment available for use. Unfortunately the internet connection was not working at all and the cell coverage was poor at best, which caused some grief for those who were not totally on vacation.
"Great vacation spot"

This will be our 14 th year vacationing at Shorelands with our group of six families. Shorelands is very laid-back and comfortable and Sonia is always very accommodating. The rooms are very clean, the pool is refreshing and the beach is beautiful. Can't wait to make more memories!
"We stayed her in June 2014---NOT GOOD"
08/02/14 LYN A Breckenridge, Minnesota
This place was like staying in a camper. Our neighbor for two days said it was false advertising. They said two room if you count a old closet converted to a bathroom, a room. Tiny tables, funny kind of...not worth $100 per night for sure. The show a picture od a one door cabin and your cabin gets two doors. The pic of the room we had shows an entrance door of nice wood. The door is actually a white, painted, dirty, with the door knob template still on it. Cell service real bad and no phones in room. I had to use the land line in the main building. This place was bad bad. Now the advertised large cabin would have been nice I am sure.
"Experience Olde Maine Charm"
07/27/14 Jane A Northborough, Massachusetts
We spent two days and nights at Shorelands Beach Cottages this summer with our grandchildren, ages ten and six. We all loved the pool, the gardens, the playground, and the congeniality of the multi-cultural staff and guests. The cottage was all we needed to make us feel as though we were back in time in Maine. Simplicity, charm and snug as could be! Best of all, we were across the street from the most beautiful trails, horse farm, and beach. Lots of restaurants, both in Kinnebunk and Kinnebunkport. We visited the Maiine Diner and ate lobster at the Kinnebunkport Harbor. We enjoyed going to the Ogunquit Theater to see "Billy Elliot!"
"Been staying here for 20 years"
07/23/14 David S
My extended family has been coming every year for 20 years and Sonja has always treated us well. It’s all about location. It’s a short walk down a quiet road to one of the best and least crowded beaches in Maine - Parsons beach. Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge is not far down route 9. The kids love the pool as well as the bikes and other equipment can be borrowed free of charge. There is a picnic area with grills and a nice stone fireplace which we use every night.
"Very Nice Resort -"
06/29/14 Frank A Fargo, North Dakota
There is a review here by Elsa O. that is on the mark. It is not fair to label this resort in a negative light, I used Hotels.com and these people I am unhappy with. If a person uses an agency and something is wrong with a motel, we should be allowed to voice our concerned receive some compensation. I fought with Hotels.com twice these week. Enough said there. anyway, this property is cluttered. and the single room (they call two room because there is a door on the bathroom) are very small. They are clean, or ours was. The place is non smoking so remove yourself to an area far from the room to do your unhealthy habit . If I could have received a refund I would have switched because this is not worth $100 per night. I had nicer, close by for $84. It does have the feel of being in a camper. Cell service was bad, no bars.
"Resort from Hell"
02/27/14 John M Denver, Iowa
Me and my wife stayed here for a vacation at this resort with our small dog. The room was small and barely had room to walk around. The door was breaking so there was a draft. Electrical outlets shocked me when I tried to plug something into the wall. Refrigerator didn't even keep food cool. Nor did the freezer. The cleaning crew didn't even take the last vacationers food out of the fridge. The "Dog Park" isn't even fenced in. The woman lets her chickens run around the entire property. The terrible room we stayed in was barely insulated. The room smelled like mold doused in air freshener. And Sonja was incredibly rude. A motel next to the highway seems like heaven compared to this place.
"Maine seashore in its natural state"
09/09/13 Elsa_O Norwalk, CT
If you want to experience the Maine seashore in its natural state, this is the place for you. Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge property is right across the road, and the beach access is right through the marsh (on a paved road). Be aware that the private property owners who share the beach road are paranoid about enforcing the rules. Other than that, the shore experience couldn't be lovelier . As for the Shorelands property, if your idea of a "resort" is the kind of place featured in Travel & Leisure magazine, you'll be sorely disappointed. OTOH, if you're looking for the feel of camping out without having to lug a tent and sleeping bags, this place is perfect. No frills, but clean and decent. With regard to a previous comment, yes, all rooms are nonsmoking and they mean it. Another plus is that it's pet friendly. The owners have a dog and a couple of cats. The pet policy keeps the place clean and pleasant for everyone.
