Overall enjoyed our stay. Room size, mattress, Service and breakfast was excellent. However our room overlooked a very busy street and B&B is across the street from PG fire station and police station and things get to be a little noisy when the firetrucks and EMT's roll. Street noise is also something to consider for room 5.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful Victorian inn"
The staff was very helpful - because of very bad weather our arrival was late and they tried to call us to remind us that the reception desk would not be staffed after 9 p.m. We had read this in the confirmation and made sure that we arrived at 8:30! the room was nice with a King sized bed (in my evaluation I suggested considering a new mattress as […] the bed had two distinct areas where you felt comfortably cuddled). Breakfast was very good and the chef made sure that we got what we wanted - she even offered us coffee to go when we left. The next time we get back to the area, we plan to stay there again. "Nice Victorian place to stay"
Other than the street noise due to non-dual pane windows, it was a lovely place with full breakfast. The car noise started sometime after 7 AM on the week day and woke me up, so if you want to sleep in, this may not be the place, but if you are up early regardless, I highly recommend this cozy place over the usual hotel feel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lovely Victorian walking distance from everything"
We stayed one night at the lovely Pacific Grove Inn, a 1904 Victorian set in the heart of Pacific Grove. Small room but comfy bed and gas fireplace that kept us cozy all night long. Fun social hour and delicious homemade breakfasts. Pacific Grove is tiny and everything is in 1/2 hr walking distance. We visited the Monarch butterfly grove, lighthouse […] and ocean in a morning. "Great Weekend Get Away"
This B&B is everything we expected for a great weekend get away. The service staff is very polite and accommodating, and the facility is cozy and provides the customer the feeling of home while on vacation. They have great attention to details such as heated towel racks for those chilly early morning showers, and they provide delicious homemade snacks […] through out the day, even for those late evening cravings. The location is ideal, only a short walk away from central Pacific Grove, where there are great boutiques, cafés, and restaurants. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and would look to this facility again for future visits. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Home away from home"
The hotel is a home away from home place to stay. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is made to order and other buffet items. Chocolate pancakes delicious. Area is quiet, and small town feel. Would stay here rather than franchise hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Convenient, comfortable, friendly"
The Pacific Grove Inn was charming - we stayed in the "Tuttle" house, which is a smaller Victorian next door to main Inn. The fireplace in our room really made it perfect. We had a nice breakfast, there is a breakfast bar with fruit, toast, yogurt, cereal... and then the chef has three main dishes to choose from. Very nice! Totally took advantage of […] the fresh-baked cookies when we got back later at night.... The Inn is perfectly located... close to Cannery Row, quick drive to Pebble Beach/Carmel, etc.. We would definitely come back! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cute and quaint"
Such a sweet little old house! My husband had never stayed at a bed and breakfast but we will again after this. He missed some of the amenities of a chain hotel but it was quiet and the staff was very nice. The breakfast was a little meager but the chef was awesome...he probably would have prepared more if we had asked.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Delightful Bed and Breakfast in Historic House"
We loved our stay at the Pacific Grove Inn. It was a delightful historic house with excellent service; friendly people! We stayed in a nice room in the second house that had an amazing tempurpedic bed and fireplace! The breakfast was a real treat every morning, besides a buffet of regular breakfast food, there was a menu of 3 things each day to choose […] from, including homemade bacon sundried tomato spinach quiche and red velvet pancakes! The chef did great! And we enjoyed the community of eating with fellow guest in the house. They also had a wine social time in the afternoons and cookies in the evening. It was so close for walking down to Lighthouse Ave. where all the restaurants, wine and coffee bars, coffee shops, bakeries and miscellaneous shopping was. It's close to beautiful sights in Pacific Grove and easy access to Cannery Row and downtown Monetary. It was also a perfect location for easy driving down to Carmel and the HWY1 each day for hiking. If you like staying at cozy local places where you really get to experience the city, this is a great place. If you're going to be picky, i'd say the only negative thing about the place was that one window in our room faced the neighbors and could see everything through it, so we just kept that curtain closed, no big deal. And we could hear the tv/music of the people above us, so we just turned on our own music and it didn't bother us much at all. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The place is fantastic and we had a great stay! The only thing was that it's located at a busy intersection resulting in a lot vehicle noise.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Walk to Everything"
Great location and wonderful breakfast. Cooked to order and served by a charming hostess/cook. Cozy and quiet bedroom in back building - needed a small table or two to set things on but other than that was fine.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed in house behind the main house. Cold room with draft under door. Had to ask for space heater, as fireplace provided little heat. King bed comfy (if you like memory foam) but coverlette and shams were old and faded. Great breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel, shame about the guests"
Wonderful B&B with great staff and wonderful breakfast. The room was on the small side if you have large suitcases and the shower had no water pressure but all in all, a quaint place for a night. They even have VHS players and CRT TVs. Only drawback were the other guests who appears to be rude, impatient, ungrateful, petty, and arrogant, ruining a perfectly […] lovely hotel stay. "Better than expected!"
The first thing we heard was, "welcome! We've been expecting you!" It is a lovely restored home just blocks from shopping and restaurants. The area is perfect! I wish I has discovered this place years ago!Genuine Expedia guest review
This B&B is in a convenient location and is easy to find. Be careful pulling in the driveway or you will shear off the front of your car! There's a bit of a dip between the road and the driveway. The house is very charming and has that old fashioned smell to it. We were in room 12 in the rear building. The room is small, but what do you expect? It just […] has to be big enough to fit you and your stuff. I loved that the room had a gas fireplace to heat the room. It added an extra bit of cosiness. If you are sensitive about noise and don't want to listen to footsteps upstairs, you might want to request an upper room. Luckily the upstairs guests were pretty quiet. There is a huge selection of VHS tapes to choose from, mostly from the 80s and 90s, which is a real hoot! Where else can you find Better Off Dead with John Cusack??? Breakfast was delicious both days. First day we had fluffy pancakes with fresh strawberries and the second day we had french toast with a banana glaze. Fantastic! We enjoyed our stay at Pacific Grove Inn. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was great each day. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. I was a bit disappointed with the room decor. It was a bit shabby and could have been more inviting. Otherwise, we liked it and would stay there again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very comfortable and friendly B&B, with super breakfast. Be aware of road noise accompanying bedrooms on the Forest Road side of the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was decent. It was nice to be able to ask the chef to cook eggs to your liking. The bed was very comfortable. The main issue is that the bathroom and room smelled a little musty and the grout in shower walls was stained. The window frame in the bathroom was dirty as well. It would also have been […] nice to have a desk in the room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We spent only one night there. We both enjoyed the historical photographs that decorate the hotel. I liked the high ceilings in our bedroom and the fact that a lot of the woodwork has been well restored. The bed and the pillows were very comfortable. The warm towel rails in the bathroom were much appreciated. I would however not call the tub a bath […] tub unless it is for a very short human being less than 3 ft tall. It functions well a a shower. The breakfast was delicious and made to order A charming hotel! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice, but dormers are hard"
The Inn is cute but on a busy street. Front rooms like the one we had have street noise. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were very friendly. The dormer room that we had and the other couple we were with was claustaphobic and difficult to relax in. The dormer room was very small with only one small chair against a dormer to sit in. The fireplace […] was basically within 1 foot of the bed and was more of heater than a fireplace. Ceilings were low and difficult to maneuver around. Other rooms looked nicer. I would suggest that if you are taken to a dormer room on the third floor you ask for a different room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Affordable in downtown"
The hotel consists of two lovely Victorians. Our stay included a generous glass of wine with cheese and fruit late afternoon, coffee and tea 24 hours, endless ice ( perfect to cool our beer in our personal cooler), and a delicious cooked-to-order breakfast. Free wi-if and parking made this b&b in downtown a delight. We were within walking distance of […] the local museum as well as the Monterey Aquarium. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Cosy bed and breakfast with outstanding breakfast"
I enjoy my stay because it was close to restaurants and shops but still I felt I was slightly away from major attractions. The breakfast was outstanding with a chef preparing food for you. Pancakes were great. Our room was cosy with a fireplace in bedroom and sitting room as well. Highly recommend this BBGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Staff was wonderful, moving us from a room close to the street to an upper floor room that had less street noise. Great breakfast. Convenient location to Monterrey, 17 mile drive to Carmel, and close excellent restaurant (Passionfish). Building had antique oak throughout and much original hardware and old photos.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay and wish our other B&B's in other cities on our trip had been as nice. Jim was especially kind and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and our bed was most comfortable. I would recommend this B&B to everyone. If you cannot handle stairs, ask for first floor.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very cute and comfortable bed & breakfast!"
This was our first Bed & Breakfast experience, and we loved the intimate setting and history of the house. The location was very close to great restaurants and the neighborhood felt very safe to walk around in. The room was extremely comfortable and homely (the new tempurpedic beds were great!). They also have a great selection of movies on VHS that […] you can borrow and watch in your room (mostly 1990s). The breakfast was fantastic as well with freshly made dishes by a cook which changes each day. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to everyone! Nice place to stay for a day or a week. Lots of things to see and do in the area. Wonderful restaurants nearby. Room was very clean and quiet at night. I would suggest requesting the top floor in either building to keep noise from above at a minimum. Heating from the gas-fired fireplace was a nice touch. The TV might need updating, but operated okay. […] Overall, a wonderful place to stay and we will certainly return in the future. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Pacific Grove Inn"
This is our favorite Inn in the Monterey area. Very good value for the money and a great "Inn" experience without breaking the bank. You might find fancier, but for us it is just what we want. Very nice breakfast and pleasant staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"relaxing & great location"
Loved my stay for a mid-week break. There was a lot of privacy & it was quiet except for the usual small downtown sounds. My only comment is I really wanted a coffee pot in my room. I didn't like going downstairs, across the yard & into the main house for hot water. It is dog friendly too which is cool. I will go back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This home was built in 1904, and converted to a B&B about 25 years ago. Location is convenient to Monterey, Carmel, and Big Sur. The history of the building and the area is fascinating.
