Location for this hotel is great, but the entire building is small and cramped, including the lobby and tiny elevator. Rooms are incredibly cramped even by NYC standards; mine didn't even have a closet and there was barely room for my suitcase. The bed frame was cheap aluminum. BUT: staff is friendly and courteous, the place is clean, and the free WiFi is actually very good. If you're not planning on doing much more than sleeping in the room during your NYC stay, it's a decent option. A bit pricey for what you get.

My first impression, based on the lack of a lobby, fell aside as soon as I spoke with the woman at the reception desk. Her warmth and helpfulness made me feel that I was in a good place in spite of the unimpressive decor. The room is small but adequate, with a roomier bathroom than I expected. The bathroom floor, shower-surround, and counter for the wash-basin are marble, and all the fixtures are modern. The furniture in the bedroom is dated and there is barely enough room to set a laptop computer on a small surface attached to one arm of the only chair in the room. There is a dresser with more space on top but there is nowhere to sit next to it, so the little, swiveling table attached to the armchair must do. Fortunately, the chair is casters and can be moved close to the bed to obtain a surface for the computer mouse to be used. In its favor, the room has plenty of electrical outlets, a computer user without a WiFi card can plug a network cable into a handy wall outlet, and for anyone with a WiFi card, wireless internet access is free. The hotel is located near the Empire State Building. There are plenty of high end stores along Fifth Avenue. For most people, getting to museums, theatres, and concert venues like Lincoln Center requires transportation, but that is easy to find in the neighborhood. It is Manhattan, and good transportation is one of the city's hallmarks. All in all, the price could not be beat and the hotel provided a comfortable, clean, safe place to sleep, with friendly and helpful staff to make a guest welcome.

Hotel 373 is fresh, new, and all around high quality. The hotel is spotless and has all the makings of an excellent boutique experience. It is small, cozy, unique, and at the same time in the middle of it all!! It is a 5 minute walk from Penn Station and a quick cab ride to the best and brightest of Manhattan. The rooms are small but you don't need anything else. The bed is soft and extra clean; the bathroom is well appointed. The flat panel TV has lots of cable channels (including HBO!). This hotel is perfect for a couple or a lone traveler. Specifically, it is best for younger (20s-30s)/more flexible travelers. Oh and they have their own entrance into the next door Starbucks! You will not be disappointed!

loved the staff and the location. we were forewarned that the rooms are small - they're tiny. i could literally sit on the bed and reach the door to the room, the desk/phone and tv. would only have to get up to go to the bathroom. if it's just you and one other person who you don't mind sharing really close quarters with, it's fine. i went with my husband for one night, so it wasn't a problem for us at all. if you're planning on bringing kids or sharing a room with a friend, it would be really tight.

Stayed here for 4 nights at the end of September/start of October. The location is excellent - right on the corner of 35th and 5th. The hotel itself is small - the lobby is just a desk with 2 laptops. There is no bar and no restaurant. If this is something that's important to you, I wouldn't bother. On the other hand, if you're looking for somewhere that's clean, is in an excellent location and has very obliging staff, I'd highly recommend it. I would definitely stay here again when I'm back in NYC.

Good use of space! Very clean & GREAT location, right in Fashion District, next to Empire State Building!! Walk to Times Square, 34th St Subway, Grand Central Station, etc. Free wireless Internet. While I do have good things to say about Hotel 373--the staff at the service desk was friendly and attentive, the room was attractive (nice marble bathroom), great location, and an adjacent Starbucks for all you coffee lovers--the size of the room left much to be desired. When we set up the ironing board up in the room, we had to fold it up to walk around it. Literally. The bed was a small double. There was no closet whatsoever. And the protruding air conditioning/heating unit was bigger than the television. There definitely was no room to relax and unwind in this room. Braving the city's blustery weather was more appealing--and relaxing--than sitting inside our assigned cubbyhole. This is definitely a room for one person who is perhaps staying overnight on business.

There are a lot of good things about this hotel: location, friendly staff, quality bedding, up-to-date bathroom & furniture, flat screen TV, wireless internet. I traveled to NY for business mtgs. My office is on 5th ave so the hotel was extremely convenient - a block & across the street away from Empire State. Lobby was squished, but Starbucks had over half that space so I didn't mind :) YUM One elevator, so it took a while to get up & down, but not that bad. Room was a great size for a NY hotel, and the bathroom was big for a NY hotel...full size tub/shower w/ curved rod. Free WI-FI, extra comfy bed, flat screen TV, iPod docking station & full size air conditioner/heating unit in the window. No closet, just an cut out in the wall, but for worked just fine for my short stay. I didn't get the wakeup call I asked for, but fortunetly I had a backup alarm on my cell phone. The iPod station also had an alarm, but I couldn't figure it out! (and I am pretty technically able) I will try and use again, as I believe I got a fantastic rate for the hotel.

My room was new, clean, and comfortable. It was tiny but had everything a single traveler would need: a comfortable bed, a small LCD TV, an alarm clock/iPod player (I had my iPod which made the small amount of time I spent in the room much more enjoyable), free high-speed wireless internet access, a teeny weeny desk, a luggage rack, a full-length mirror, and a few hooks with hangers. The bathroom had a marble sink and shower with a curved shower rod, as well as a makeup mirror. There wasn't much counter space or desk space, so I had to use the bed to lay out my stuff when needed, which I didn't mind. The staff was extremely courteous, and the Starbucks downstairs was a big plus. If you're alone and want a comfortable, clean room to stay in Midtown, Hotel 373 is a great buy. If you plan on sleeping in though, I'd recommend you bring a sleep mask, since the windows do not have black-out drapes.
