I'm not really sure where to begin! Our stay was absolutely amazing! The Pacific Edge and all surrounding properties are stunning! The added discounts at nearby eateries was nice! The staff I dealt with was beyond friendly and made absolute sure that there were no other needs. The valet men were great and super friendly and willing to help with recommendations […] (as you will walk past the valet station most every walking trip down the Pacific Coast Highway)! The room was very clean however in need of some updating. In short, yes, we will absolutely be staying here again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This was the most expensive hotel on the strip but very worn down with a cheesy stuff motif. There was dust and hair in our room. Uncomfortable pillows. Staff however was excellent. I would recommend staying at a cheaper boutique hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Never told about $24 a day parking. Wifi never worked. Rooms are basically lipstick on a pig.Genuine Expedia guest review
I have never stayed in a hotel room that literally when the tide was in, it was under our veranda! The kids had a blast taking just one flight of stairs down to the beach from our room. The room was big, a little dated but did not care because we were either down at beach or sitting on the veranda to watch the sunset and to look and listen to the soothing […] sounds of the ocean. "Old room, noisy"
The service was good but our room was not., It was very old and noisy. We could hear the people in the room by us easily. It also had a bad, musty smell probably from wet suits etc. from beach. It was so noisy from road was hard to sleep. I don't know what the other side of hotel was like but it looked better. Make sure you do not stay in the old p […] art. Some other guests.were very noisy late at night and rooms were not very soundproof. Parking was a big added expense and beach towels and chair were hard to obtain. Reserved three rooms at same time but we're assigned far apart.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Cute Chic Motel"
Loved it there! Short stay wished we had stayed longer. They offered movie night outside in their pool area one a huge screen. 5 Star restaurant right in the premises and my favorite part of all was our room pet Moby the fish.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Take the Room Closer to the Pool"
I could not sleep all night because of the traffic. The walls are too thin and you can hear the street traffic whole night long. The receptionist gave us a choice, drag your bags to the room closer to the pool or conveniently go up to rooms closer to the Lobby. She failed to tell us that we will not be sleeping whole night due to the main street traffic. […] The room is not that big, there is no Flat screen TV like they advertise anyway. The location was perfect right on the beach...hotel is very old and it shows....Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Just for sleeping"
This is a step down from Motel 6. The TV is an old tube one and the remote did not work. The internet was fine, not very fast, just good enough to download email into Outlook and check web pages. The windows do not seal and are not double pane therefore you get the sound of the traffic from the street which is less than 25 yards in front of it. The […] shower has very little water pressure which requires a long time to rinse. The only parking is vallet and it cost $25/day. Overall this is a ok choice if you are in a budget and must stay in Laguna Beach. A better choice, if you don't mind the 15 min. drive is to stay in a nearby area or inland and drive here. "You get what you pay for"
Just needed an affordable , after Xmas party place to stay overnight in LB. Young staff were very pleasant and helpful. Room was old and a little musty, but expected in an older, beach front property. Our room entrance was on the PCH highway side of the building. however, we were hardly aware of the traffic noise. We had one of the two interior-facing […] rooms wih balconies and we could sit on the balcony and have our coffee and read our newspaper while looking at a view of the ocean. Weather was unexpectedly perfect and the coffee and Sunday papers were complimentary. There are nicer, more expensive rooms available in the beachfront tower. We had brunch at The Deck, their on property beach front restaurant. It provides an on-the-sand dining experience. The food we had the Ahi salad, grilled cheese with bacon sandwich and spaghetti squash with egg dish, and they all were fresh and tasty with attractive presentation. The bloody Mary's were just right. If you have modest expectations, you'll have a pleasant weekend smack in the middle of Laguna beach. For the best experience upgrade to a remodeled room. "Pacific Edge Hotel on Laguna Beach"
I went to the Pacific Edge Hotel in Laguna Beach for the weekend - I enjoyed Laguna Beach and the hotel very much - there is a valet fee at the hotel because parking is limited - the valet service was excellent - I went to a restaurant down the street "Nicks" also very good !!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Pacific Edge Hotel on Laguna Beach, a Joie de Vivre Hotel Our valet will be so happy to hear about the great feedback. We appreciate your kind words and hope you have us in mind next time you travel to Laguna Beach. Madison Techmanski Front Office Supervisor
The hotel rooms on the website are definitely not a accurate representation of the rooms. The rooms do not have heat. I know it's on the beach in California, but it can get cold. I had to resort to turning on the oven and opening the door to stay warm. They may mention that parking is free, there are about 6 of these spots or you can park in the Taco […] Bell parking lot. You have no other choice but to use their "valet service". $24 per day. It's just another way for them to make money from tourist wanting to park and go to the beach. I'm fine with that, but don't make your guest pay for the luxury of parking their own car! Overall, I was very disappointed in my stay here for the price. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Terrible stay, freezing"
We just stayed here one night after a party in the area. We got back at 1:30am and the heater wasn't working. Security came up, fixed it, but then it only blew cold air. They came up again and gave us a portable heater. It was freezing that weekend. At least there was somewhat of a solution. But not something you want to deal with at that time. Also, […] housekeeping knocked 3 times before 9am and we said no thank you and then they still entered! Our room DID NOT look like it did online, and we supposedly were in the remodeled wing. Also, walls were very thin. A guy next door was sick for an hour at 2am and we heard it all. The holiday inn across the street is my favored choice next time. They really had no sympathy. Comped our parking after we spent 12 hours there and didn't hardly use anything and didn't sleep well! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

I was disappointed. Staff were friendly at the desk. I was tired when I arrived. The light was broken entering the room and I couldn't find anything until I stumbled on the bed. There was a light hanging from the ceiling without a shade, it looked like a jail light. There was not even an armchair to sit on. When being told on the phone by reservations that the beach front units were booked already and that the rooms available were inside units, it was never mentioned that the available rooms were in the least desirable section of the hotel. "Surprise in my home town"
I needed to go back home to deal with an issue. Decided to stay over night in a Hotel, so asked my Asst. to book a "cheap room" on the beach, if possible. The room they offered was surprisingly nice, right above the sand with amazing views of Laguna's Main Beach and Catalina […] Island. "Nice beach hotel, incredible view and cozy beach."
Not an elegant hotel but a great place to stay if you want beach, sand and sun.Genuine Expedia guest review
Pleasantly surprised with the room. Cozy and comfortable king size bed, flat screen tv, awesome view of the ocean, and very quiet - except, of course, the sounds of the ocean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is on the beach, so you walk down the steps and you're on the sand- you can't beat that. Plus, there was a kitchenette in my large room that included a living room, and having a full grocery store within 1 minute walking distance was ideal. You also have the choice to valet park or street park. Even though it's metered, there's plenty of street […] parking around the hotel. Tons of restaurants and boutique shops on the same street. The one drawback is that it was noisy- people talking loudly outside, etc. until late in the evening. Maybe it was because it was the weekend. But overall, a nice hotel with many conveniences there and nearby. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Many of the hotel rooms are well off the ocean with apartments and/or houses in between. Carpets, beds, bathrooms and curtains were worn out and stained. My experience with Pacific Edge Hotel is one that I will never forget. The Front Desk Concierge upgraded my room at no cost to a room with a beach front balcony since it is available. Although slightly dated the hotel's location, cleanliness and friendly staff made our stay very enjoyable. Great spot for those traveling on a budget, be aware the parking is valet only and not included in the cost of the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
In choosing the hotel, we picked it based on the write up, location and rooms. In getting there, only a very small percentage had any kind of view of the ocean. Ours particularly was down in the basement adjacent to the very small pool with noisy kids during most of the day time hours. We were not happy.Genuine Expedia guest review
