Hotel Dei Dragomanni - Venice

Overall our stay was very nice. I only wish I had known that they could not turn on the air conditioning until the last and only cool day of our stay. The location is great and the staff and management were very accommodating. It was just a short walk to St. Mark's Square, and some of the best museums in Venice, and steps away from the Grand Canal.

Well maintained hotel in a (relatively) quiet part of Venice but with great access to Accadamia Bridge and Vaparetto stop, 10 min walk to St Marks and maybe 20 min to Rialto. I was extremely pleased with my experience at this hotel. My husband and I stayed 2 nights. A room was ready for us 3 hours before check-in time, and that room just so happened to have a big bonus - an attached patio that was private to us the entire time, because I don't think anyone knew it was there for their use. I believe it was the only room of […] it's kind because of how the hotel is situated. We loved the patio and got great use out of it and it made us feel like we had been upgraded! The room size was good for no more than 2 people and if you looked out one of the windows to your left there was a small but exciting view of the Grand Canal. The room was clean and quiet. If you exit the hotel and walk about 10 paces to your left, you are right on the Grand Canal with a somewhat secluded little dock that you can walk out on and sit. It was an absolutely gorgeous view - the Accademia Bridge, the canal view of The Peggy Guggenheim Collection Museum, and gondolas galore. We spent the beginning of each morning and the end of each night out just sitting there soaking up all there was to see. Breakfast wasn't served until 0730 (I would have preferred 0700) but it was great, although coffee is only included at an extra cost. I would stay in this hotel if I get the chance of visiting Venice again, and I would recommend that you choose this hotel to stay in also. Happy vacationing :) Read more

Excellent small hotel in a quiet neighborhood that is only a few minutes from Accedemia bridge and a 10 minute walk to St Mark's square. Easy to get to from the train/bus station, just take the #1 vaporetto to the Giglio dock, walk straight off the dock, turn left and cross 2 small canals then turn left into Campo San Maurizo and walk down the narrow […] street towards the Grand Canal. The hotel is near the end of the street on the left side, just keep walking and you'll see it. Walking time from the dock is about 3 minutes. From the airport, walk to the docks (10 minutes, very well marked) and take an Alilaguna boat (15 Euro per person) to Campo San Marco or Rialto (depending on which Alilaguna line you are one...they both work just taking different routes to Venice), then catch vaporetto #1 to the Giglio stop (it's really easy, will make perfect sense once you get there). Or, you can take the #5 bus from the airport terminal to the grand canal for 2.50 Euros (it's a nice, clean bus with tourists going to Venice...no worries, Venice is very safe!) and catch vaporetto #1 to Giglio. Water taxis are very expensive and only make sense for large groups. Hotel is modern with a good continental breakfast, rooms are very comfortable with a friendly staff, would definitely stay there again. It's nice to know a few Italian words, but it's not necessary as everywhere we went the the staff/waiters/store workers spoke at least some English. Read more

The hotel location was very good. It was within walking distance to St. Mark's square. I liked the bedroom itself. However, I didn't like the molds in the bathroom. We had a family room-our two teenage daughters were with us-and it was beautiful. For the price, this was more than we expected! The hotel staff was extremely helpful. We had already picked out a place for dinner and they called and made the reservations for us. They recommended two restaurants that were wonderful also. There continental breakfast was quite a spread with pastries, lots of different fresh fruit, cereal, bagels, yogurt and more. The location was perfect. Just steps from the grand canal and within 5 minutes walk of St. Marks Square, The Rialto Bridge and everything else. I highly recommend this hotel. Read more

Excellent boutique hotel nicely decorated. Convenient location close to the boat drop off. However not the easiest place to find the first time. But once you know where the location is, it is in a very quiet neighborhood, close walk to St. Marks square.
