Old Chicago Inn was a great place to stay. Virginia was very friendly on check in, and Jon was also great in the mornings. It is very close to Wrigley field, and the surrounding neighborhood has lots to do. (Bars, Places to eat, comedy clubs, etc.) We had a small room with a private bathroom. Everything was great. I thought it would be louder, but we didn't hear anyone the entire time we were there. I would fully recommend this place to anyone traveling to Wrigley for a game. I know we will be back!

Everyone was very nice and the location was great. The resturant next door that is co-owned was very good and the service was excellent. The room was very small and the bathroom was shared which we were not told about prior to walking in our room. If this is important you should confirm you get one of the few rooms with a private bath. Walking distance to Wrigley.

Perfect location for local restaurants and shopping ... plus only a 10 minute walk to Wrigley Field for some Cubbies baseball. Stayed in the Wrigley Suite and room was in good condition for old building. Some electrical issues but staff was quick to respond. Would stay here again!

the hotel was very nice. The staff was great and very helpful. the rooms were very nice. the only problem is if your room is on the street side. It is VERY noisy. You hear all the street noise as if the windows are open. We were in room 3A very large but on street side. Will try again if in town but in a different room.

We had a wonderful stay at the Old Chicago Inn. It is located in Lakeview, which is a VERY good place to stay. The Belmont station is right around the corner and you could buy your train passes at a nearby CVS. There were great restaurants, bars, and shops all around us, and downtown was only about 15 minutes down the red line! We felt very safe in the neighborhood and were sad to leave it. As for the hotel itself, we really enjoyed our room. The inn was built in 1903 as a 3-family apartment building, so naturally, the floors are a bit creaky. We stayed in room 2A, and when the room next to us was occupied, it could get a little noisy because there's just a door between the two rooms. Sometimes the street got a little noisy too (because we were there on St. Patrick's weekend), but both of us are heavy sleepers so it didn't bother us much. The innkeepers are great - we didn't see Virginia much because she was working a lot at Trader Todd's, her husband's restaurant. But John was there every morning, and he is fantastic to talk to - gives great directions and helps you plan out your day. The free parking was a definite plus, as most places charge you $20-$30 per night to park! And breakfast was included with our room, which generally consisted of some granola bars, muffins, pastries, juice, fruit, and coffee. But it was more than enough! I would absolutely recommend this place, and if we are in Chicago again, I know we'll stay there!

I highly recommend this to anyone in the Chicago area! I was there for a conference at McCormick and it worked well (had a rental car). Virginia and the Innkeeper were sooo accommodating. There weren't many other guests there, so they gave us a free upgrade to a nicer room. Also, they set out breakfast early since my friend and I had to leave before their regular breakfast times! The value and service were so refreshing and the stay was very comfortable. I would stay here again and definitely recommend it to anyone.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Old Chicago Inn while apartment hunting. We loved the location of the hotel (Lakeview) so much we limited our search to just that area. The staff were incredibly nice and accomodating and the hotel itself was really cute, cozy, and clean. The owner also owns a restaurant next door for which we received $10 vouchers every day of our stay. That worked out very nicely for us as we are moving to Chicago so will have plenty of time to sample different restaurants and because the veggie burgers were delicious! Some of the rooms don't have bathrooms, but that was fine with us. There are two communal bathrooms which were always open and clean during our stay. The el is just around the corner, and it only takes about 20-30 minutes to get downtown, but there is plenty to do in Lakeview. I couldn't have asked for a better experience!

We stayed at the Old Chicago Inn for two nights while attending a Cubs game. The location is great, price is great, the place is very clean and nice. My only complaint is that our room got VERY warm at night. Apparently there was no air conditioning vent in the room. The hallways were very cool but once you shut the door it got seriously hot in our room. If we had not happened to bring our own minni-fan, it would have been unbearable. But we will go back, fan in tow!

This hotel is ideal as long as sharing a bathroom doesn't bother you. Also, it is just next door to a bar and a busy intersection is close by. Be prepared for some noise at night, but nothing that you can't sleep through. Lots of Chicago style and a super location close to the Elevated train system. Walk to restaurants galore, the permanent home of Blue Man Group, funky shopping and pleanty of public transportation. I loved it!

This b&b is in a great location. I would recommend this for someone visiting Chicago who is not planning on being in the hotel very much. The hotels is minutes from Wrigely Field if you like baseball and there are a ton of bars and and places to eat within walking distance. The subway is less than 2 minutes walk from the inn giving easy access to the Magnificent mile, the Loop, and the muesum district. The only downside is that the old house is very noisy. Our room was on the first floor and off of the sitting area for breakfast. The hardwood floors cary every single word that is said in the sitting area into the rooms. If you are an early riser, this will not bother you. Noise aside, a great place to stay.

The owner/proprietors are very welcoming. The location of the hotel was great for us with easy access to the El Train about a mile from Lake Michigan. The room we stayed in was part way through a remodeling process and the door was hard to lock. The bed was a full size and seemed to sag in the middle. Each morning I awoke with a sore back. The morning coffee was good and the bathroom was clean.
