Walked to all main attractions, Waterford Crystal and interesting museums. Theatre right down the street, enjoyed the play, "Crucible". Three course dinner for 2, with a bottle of wine, $65. Free parking! Spacious room for three, upgraded decor.Genuine Expedia guest review
We found the FirzWilton to be above average accommodation. Good size room, non-smoking, friendly staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel with good location"
This is a clean hotel that's a little swanky. It's a block from the river and a little night life. They had a good band playing in the pub and wished they had played longer. The room was comfortable and the beds were comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Waterford worth the 3 nights. Seems a little gritty initially, but this is a working town. Very friendly residents mad it a fun place. The Medieval museum is modern and interesting. Good tour guide (included in price). Shopping area is a little hard to find at first (just north of the clock tower, not the Reginald Tower), but there is both indoor and […] outdoor areas with good choices for shops and food.. Several Polish groceries, restaurants one block off the waterfront Quay are friendly and affordable. The hotel is not directly in the tourist area, but the 2 different walk routes to the main area (waterfront and 1 block off) provided 2 different views of the city. Both safe, just one was less traveled and let you see different eating places, shopping places. I liked the 2nd choice more. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"We enjoyed it!"
We would stay there again. We thought the mattress very hard but learned that's the expectation of tourists in Ireland. The parking was convenient and the location nice; close to the water and near the three restaurants recommended by the locals we spoke with. If we go back, we would try a b & b for a less busy place. Two tour busses arrived so it felt […] a bit crowded. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great front desk service; some lights in the room were burnt out; bed was quite hard. Several noisy drunk groups in the hallway after 11 pm (loud enough that they woke me up) - ie walls are thin. Location is adequate - Waterford is small enough that everything is within 1 mile walk. Hotel could use a refresh.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Room on busy road with pub noise. We were there on a Friday and Saturday. Local hen parties jammed the place. The car park was full and we had to park by the river quay for 5 euro each night. Very inconvenient. Nice staff cannot make up for the quality and location on edge of town. There are better places.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel, easy to find not easy to park"
Hotel parking horrible but staff was extremely helpful and found us a place to park and brought bags to room. Hallway smelled of smoke but it was a completely non-smoking hotel. Food tasted delicious in bar area but some bones in fish and the live entertainment was great!! Room was clean and nice and slept well.Genuine Expedia guest review
Surprised to learn the free parking was only from 6pm until 8am the next day. Then add it was across the street. I was not consider this a 4 star hotel. 75% of the tiles of the shower had mold.Genuine Expedia guest review
All in all our one night stay at the Fitzwilton was good . By looking at the lobby and bar you would think the rooms would be a little more updated , but they were clean and the shower was amazing ! The only negative thing I do have to say is that as we were checking out they tried to charge us an extra 50 euro for a reason they didn't say even though […] we had already paid the full amount when we booked on this site. "Nice and centrally located!"
Stayed here for one night in February 2014. In general a nice hotel, although a bit dingy in spite of the fact that it is fairly new. Rooms are large and our triple room on the top floor had TV and free wifi plus a coffee maker. The restaurant is good. Breakfast OK. All in all a good place for Waterford, but could need a minor overhaul to maintain the […] previous standards I assume it had in the beginning. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location, but not four stars"
This was a clean hotel, well organized and situated within Waterford. However, for the price and 4-star rating, I expected more in terms of quality of the room or quantity of the offering, as there was no breakfast included or onsite gym.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel close to things to do"
Overall, it was a nice place to stay. My only complaint would be that our room opened to the street below, and at about 600AM-7AM large trucks begin to move in and out of the alley below and they make A LOT of noise. A trash truck came to pick up the trash and seemed to stop at EVERY stop on the street and then proceeded to compact trash at EACH stop. […] It woke us up early and we couldn't go back to sleep until it had gone... about 20 minutes later. We had to keep the window open because there was no AC in the room, otherwise we would have shut the noise out. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Disappointing hotel in Waterford"
Hotel s located directly across the bridge from the train station so it's a 5 - 7 minute walk to the hotel. The lobby is dark and small. Front desk staff isn't too friendly and didn't give us any information on the hotel or area. They did check us in quickly though. The decor in the room is disappointing. I must have misunderstood that the hotel was […] remodeled. There aren't any "extras" in the room (alarm clock, tissues, mini fridge, etc.) It was warm the two nights we were in Waterford, and the room did not have air conditioning which made sleeping very uncomfortable for two nights. I looked for a fan in the room and there wasn't one. Only one panel of the window opened up in the room so that didn't help much. Our room faced Bridge Street and with the window open, it was impossible to sleep. The cars and trucks driving by were really loud all night long!! The continental breakfast was average, nothing outstanding. Upon checkout a gentleman tried to charge me for the room that I had pre-paid for through Expedia. Thank goodness a woman who knew what she was doing assisted and confirmed that my card will not be charged again. I wold not return to this hotel, check out other hotels in the area - very disappointing. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"No parking. No view."
Fiasco trying to check in. Absolutely nowhere to park/unload luggage except the middle of the busy city street. No help offered by hotel. Just bad advice to park in the loading bay that was filled with parked cars that never moved. Hotel should have someone come outside and manage this personally when their parking is "permanently full for the evening. […] ". (Their description of the situation). Other city hotels physically send a bellhop out to help in these types of situations. Really unpleasant experience at a hotel we had really been looking forward to. We had a very good experience at the Fitzwilton Hotel. When we arrived we discovered we had accidentally taken a camera from the home of the person we were staying with the prior evening. At reception, Steven,on duty at the time, helped us with calling back to the home and trying to contact the owner. He also offered to help us mail it back. He went […] well beyond the call of duty. We were very impressed with his willingness to help. Since initial impressions are so important, he couldn't have left a better first impression. We thank him and all the staff of the Fitzwilton. "Decent hotel near downtown area."
Stayed here one night on a cross country visit of Ireland. The hotel was adequate but not stellar. There are many manual doors in the hallways which are a real pain if you have luggage tote...maybe a fire regulation or something? Elevators are very small too. However the room was clean and "ok" and the hotel was quiet at night. Decent value for what […] I paid to stay there and the convenience of being able to walk to all the downtown attractions. Very nice place with a great staff. Did notice the street it is on gets a little seedy as the night gets more late.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Staff was friendly and the hotel bar was a great place to unwind. Hotels located within walking distance to many wonderful pubs and the House of Waterford. Rooms were spacious.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was a nice clean hotel, but hotel parking very limited. We had to use the public parking so we had to pay to park. Otherwise, enjoyed our stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel itself was fine. The staff was great! the room we had was a "family room" and it was old and dated, clean but still very old. Also breakfast was supposed to be served at 7:00 am but the food was not out until 7:10, important due to the fact that we were trying to catch a 7:50 bus that morning.Genuine Expedia guest review
Parking close by and the hotel was easy to get to. A 15 minute walk from Waterford Crystal.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place but no AC"
AC people, AC. It's hot enough there to install AC.....yet they don't. Otherwise a great place and the staff is awesome, very accommodating.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Do not stay here"
The rooms were jaded. In need of redecorating. Cigarette burns on the furniture. The breakfast was terrible. The first day there was no food at the buffet when we arrived. Eventually cold sausages and scrambled eggs were provided. On the second day the scrambled eggs were not cooked properly. They were so liquidy that a straw more useful than a fork. "Central location , close to town centre."
Stayed 2 nights, very friendly reception , restaurant and bar staff.Genuine Expedia guest review
Fitzwilliam Hotel is a victim of its location, but could be greatly enhanced by bright décor. If you went to this hotel needing cheering up it would greatly depress you. Would be okay for business purposes but not for a holiday. Whilst food was okay the dining room was terrible like a factory canteen, so dark and dismal throughout. "Book at the Tower Hotel...superior to Fitzwilton"
Disappointing after 3 nights at the Tower Hotel which is more a 4 star than Fitzwilton.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel, friendly staff, easy access all areas"
Made a return visit to Waterford to visit Waterford Crystal. Hotel very nice, central, no need to use the car unless travelling outside of Waterford. Only problem with hotel was there was no room in the hotel car park, we had to use a public car park on the quays. However, only cost us 5 euros.Genuine Expedia guest review
Was disappointed in this hotel. It was not as clean as it. Could have been and it was kind of older.Genuine Expedia guest review
It is in great location . Staff friendly. Menu in bar does not cater for children. Only flaw with the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Modern hotel in the heart of the city"
The Fitzwilton is a lovely hotel in a great location. Most of the other hotels in the city centre are more old fashioned. Clean modern decor, friendly staff. Car park is quite small so you might have to be early, but they allow you to park the next day for a while if you need it in the city. Food is the only down side. Cheap, but quality is lackingGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Two night break"
Stayed here this week 8th and 9th July would no class this hotel as 4star even though that's it's official rating the reception staff are friendly and the rooms are very clean but our room was very noisy and very warm as window only opens a little bit and there is no air conditioning the restaurant staff would need to be more customer friendly went […] for a meal with my sister we decided to go for the the set meal for 49euro for two with a bottle of wine which is good value only thing they will not change anything on the set meal without charging extra example you cannot have chips instead of potatoes and only gave one side order between two seems whatever the chef says goes would not stay here again as made a complaint before I checked out Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good all round value in Waterford"
This Hotel is just off the Quay and easy walking distance to all of the key locations in the City. Allow a comfortable 10 minutes to walk to Waterford Crystal Showrooms & Foundry. The Hotel is well organised and funds smoothly. Outside it seems to be an oldish building, but inside it has been refurbished tastefully. It's a feel good place to stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
