"Historic Taos Inn -- certainly not up to par."
I have stayed at the Taos Inn twice -- once with a friend on a motorcycle trip, and this time with my wife. The location (just off the square) is terrific. The hotel restaurant is excellent. The ambiance is pure "Taos". However, the rooms are below par for a hotel that is labelled as 4 or 5 star. The TV is "tiny"...the bed mattress is soft, the heating […] system is archaic. We were given a room (the hotel was NOT full), that backed the hotel parking lot (unpaved)...not fun listening to cars coming in and out. There are a lot of nice (non-chain) hotels in Taos that are better value. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Taos Inn - historical fun"
Wonderful room, great dining, fun inside and outside bar areas, nightly entertainment, across the street from other restaurants and galleries, etc, etc, etc. Stay here.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Best location in Taos to explore on foot. At the end of the day enjoy some live music and meet new people.Genuine Expedia guest review
"This hotel needs updating"
Excellent location but expensive for an average room and amenities.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Historic and Classy hotel"
This hotel exceeded my expectation. A lot of the historic hotels we have been to are typically run down. This hotel is well kept and you can see it in the detail. The amenities are luxurious. It is quaint and classy. The hotel maintains some of the historic structure for its charm but upgraded it to modern comfort. We have a pretty small room and the […] sink is so small that you can’t even wash your face. I think our experience will be better if we have a bigger suite. The lobby is picturesque. It is like a galley/museum. We have so much fun taking pictures. It is also walkable to the plaza and other restaurants. Customer service is excellent. We felt welcome the moment we walked in. We requested another lamp as the room is pretty dim and the hotel staff delivered it promptly. I highly recommend staying at this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Historic Taos Inn"
If you love history you will love this place. We stayed in the courtyard, very quiet and cozy with a kiva fireplace. If you are looking for large, spacious modern rooms, this hotel is not for you. But if you want to be in the heart of Taos within walking distance of everything, you will enjoy the Taos Inn.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect location in Taos."
The Historic Taos Inn consists of several adobe houses and the main building. In the back of the hotel is a free parking. We got room in main building. Very tiny, small old room with some kind of charm. Access to our room was from the balcony over the lobby, s o we can enjoy Live music in the foyer in the evening. Hotel has bar and restaurant. We loved the ambience of the hotel. I would stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was nice but not great. Most of the rooms are located in buildings other than the main one. The room was good but no fridge or coffee service; it did have a little fireplace and sitting area. Taos was not near as nice as I had been led to believe and the area was kind of scummy. Shopping was just across the street but it was mostly over-priced […] art galleries or junky tourist shops. The hotel restaurant was good; we liked the food a lot. "The only place to stay in TAOS!!!!!"
We loved the location and the look of the authentic building. We really enjoyed listening to the music in the lobby/bar so much to the point we almost wired too long to eat dinner. All the characters of Taos showed up for open mic night and it was great!!! This unique quality makes Taos. This is the only place I would stay. Very friendly and helpful […] staff. "Love this old hotel"
We have stayed at the Taos in several times and now no visit to Taos would be right unless we could stay there, The liveliness of Doc Martin's is always a treat and all the rooms we have stayed in have a unique period flair.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Friendly helpful staff. Building is old but well maintained with unique grounds. You can't get a better location, very short walk to all tourist, shopping attractionsGenuine Expedia guest review

Great location, lovely grounds, good restaurant. Rooms are small. Wifi spotty. TV is small and old.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Fabulous historic hotel with great service"
This is a beautiful hotel with lovely grounds and a great layout of rooms. Service at the desk was very friendly and competent. The only negative was the blanket on the bed, which definitely showed signs of previous guests (the reason for the lower rating)--but we just removed it because we had a blanket with us. Other than that the room was spotless […] and very nice. The location and price can't be beat. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"No nightlife, unless you count raccoons!"
The Inn is very well located, and the larger rooms are beautifully appointed. However, the queen room we were originally assigned in the Courtyard left quite a bit to be desired for the price we paid. It was cramped, the carpet felt and looked very worn, and the bed sagged in the middle. Add to that the unidentified creature that tramped back and forth […] over the roof and eventually became trapped in the swamp cooler, shrieking and scrabbling? We asked for another room! The front desk was immediately responsive and we were moved to Helen's House, a king room with much nicer accommodations. The Inn is also much in line with the rest of small-town Taos, in that the sidewalks are rolled up at 10 PM on a Saturday night - you can't even sit in the lobby with friends after an evening event, much less have a nightcap. Nothing else in the area could accommodate our small group at that hour, either, so we ended up sitting in our tiny room (pre-creature), no doubt disturbing the guests around us though we tried to be quiet. Disappointing. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We went to Taos to celebrate my husband's birthday. The hotel was perfect! I had read reviews suggesting that the hotel was noisy, but our room was in one of the back buildings and it was very peaceful with a beautiful courtyard right outside. We loved the music, and the food was outstanding!Genuine Expedia guest review
"For an historic place - it's okay"
Room was okay not great. Bar/lounge was a community meeting place. Entertainment was excellent. Room windows painted shut in back - made forced air necessary when natural cross-breeeze would shave been nice. Food was good but pricey for local area. No dining room breakfast. Breakfast-to-go very time consuming.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"One night of fun."
We enjoyed our stay here staff and other patrons were very friendly. We enjoyed the band and the events going on in the area. We also enjoyed the ease at finding the hotel when we arrived.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place, would stay again!"
Very quaint, New Mexico themed inn right in downtown Taos. Within walking distance of several attractions. Front desk is open 24/7 if you need anything- as we checked in at 1 am.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quaint inn for an authentic Taos experience"
This Inn is perfectly located in the heart of downtown Taos, and is within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. The staff was great and helpful in every way. The rooms are old, but clean and functional. There is a lot of character in this hotel. It can get a little louder in the evenings, but nothing too imposing. I had dinner at Doc Martin's […] restaurant and it was most excellent. Parking was plentiful and easy to access. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Taos. Staff was wonderful service was wonderful. Wi-Fi needs to be improved. The food was wonderful. Enjoyed the nightly entertainment and the area was quiet. It was in a good location to get to the plaza and other nice shops. If rated from 1 to 5, we would give it a 4.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Experience New Mexico Culture skip franchises"
'One of the reasons I enjoy New Mexico is because it is unlike anywhere else in the United States. Part of the experience is local lodging with it's own unique character. This Hotel is an excellent example. Rustic, but very clean, still has all amenities in the rooms. Forget the Hotels with their Exercise Rooms, Pools, Spas... go out and explore the […] great nature, the Rio Grande river and the fabulous historical attractions. "Dated, small room, with a tiny bathroom and no tub"
Not worth 150/night. Maybe $75 if that. Awful stay!!!!Genuine Expedia guest review
It was like going back in time when the 1800 crossed paths with the pueblo Indians that originated from these spiritual lands. Great Location with attached rest. Doc Martins and Adobe Bar entertaining with live music.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Historic but not restful"
I took a 2 day ski vacation and found this on hotels.com for a low price and saw that it was quite pretty and historic. The staff was kind and welcoming the restaurant was delicious but expensive. The issue I had was that my room was over the bar and it was quite the happening place with live music both nights which would have been great had I not been […] exhausted and had it not gone until 10. The bed was also rather uncomfortable due to a hard mattress. The heat never got past 70 even when it dropped to 5 degrees outside. Again I thought it was a cool hotel but I needed somewhere to rest not pretend I was still in college. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Charming and romantic hotel right on Taos Plaza"
Stayed in historic part of hotel above the open lobby area. Room was small, but very clean and comfortable. We stayed up to enjoy the band, but retired to our room after a few margaritas. Some would not like the face you could hear the band in the room, but it didn't bother us. Great hotel and location with nice staff. Recommend dining at Love Apple […] (cash only) on North side of town (get a reservation). Breakfast at Taos Diner, recommend the rellenos. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"VERY ATMOSPHERIC BUT THE BEDS ARE HARD"
We enjoyed staying here. The sloping floors are part of the delight and the bar and restaurant were excellent but the beds are old and hard.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Live music every night!"
If I'd known they had live music every night, I never would have stayed here. The bar is the lobby, so nowhere to go to use the internet during the 3 hours of the over amplified music. Heard throughout the complex. No wifi in rooms, no breakfast nor anywhere within walking distance to get breakfast. Close to the shops if you like shopping.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was very friendly, engaging and comfortable. Reasonable. Speed of evaluation is NOT important quality isGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Right Location"
The Inn is old and funky, but charming and vibrant and clean. Close to the most of the galleries. The staff at the desk were great. We were glad to find ourselves not in the main building's rooms but in a unit directly behind. Ours was quite old. You had to duck down with low doorways. Fireplace with wood supplied. Nice. A more up date group of similar […] adobe style buildings behind. We suspect the rooms in the main inn building were small. The live music was great, nice bar. Didn't try the restaurant. Some good eating choices near by. We would try them again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"If you like historic . . ."
Then staying here a no brainer! If prefer new & modern, probably notGenuine Hotels.com guest review
It was clean for an old place. There was no Wifi in our room for the entire stay and they couldn't figure it out. Smallest cups of complimentary breakfast coffee we have ever seen at a hotel! Location is the plus because you can walk anywhere. Would probably stay somewhere else next time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"In the Heart of Taos"
Great fun to be had in the "living room" of Taos. Charming heart of thehistoric site. One caveat that is not mentioned in their publicity: There is live music 7 nights per week, lasting until 10:00 pm. It can be VERY LOUD. If you do not think you would enjoy having your bed and walls vibrate, make sure you get a room that is not in the main buildin […] g. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient, but noisy."
Very convenient if you are going to Taos for the Wool Festival in October. Our room was right behind the lobby and was very noisy. Very loud guests were in the next building and didn't quiet down until I called the front desk at 12:30 am. I can't help feeling like the worst room was given to us due to the online booking. I may be wrong about that, but […] I would skip this place if you are looking for peace and quiet. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
