Hotel Real de Minas Is a charming, old hotel that has been largely renovated. The grounds are immaculate and beautiful as are the hotel's interior and rooms. We had problems with the plumbing in our room. The hotel staff was quick to take corrective action, but the problems arose again after a few days. The hotel restaurant is good (recommend the guacamole with cocktails), and other good restaurants are within easy walking distance. The hotel is very nice, and well located, we only had a little trouble when we made the check in, we had book 2 double bed rooms, for 3 persons each one, and the first they gave us was an one king bed room, when we ask them to change it for a 2 double bed room, they told us that expedia had book a one king bed room, and that they didnt have any 2 double […] bed room available for us, and they didnt want give us a solution, but after like 20 minutes of arguing and ask the person talk with the manager, we got our 2 bed room, but we find it bad from them blame expedia for the trouble, when we saw in their screen that the room had been asked for 3pax each. The hotel was very nice. Kind staff, clean and nice rooms (we stayed in a superior). The only thing that was bad is the thickness of the walls and floors, but that is the same throughout all of Mexico. We made a reservation for 2 "Superior" Rooms and they only had one available, they sent us to other two single rooms that were in the worst conditions I've seen in this city. The power outlets didn't hold the cables one wanted to connect, the blankets were old, the shower curtains were horrible, all the bathroom would get wet when taking a careful shower, […] old TV, and the room service didn't comply once with the requested beverages. Because the hotel rate was a bit less than other hotels we looked at, we didn't expect much in the way of service and amenities. We were so wrong! For us, the hotel was the perfect way to visit San Miguel--everyone on the staff was cheerful and helpful, they tolerated our Spanish, and they spoke English when we faltered. The rooms are not sound proof......party on top of our heads at 2 am.................the operator did not answer called 3xs til I had to get dressed, go to the front desk so that the person in charge would get off a personal phone call and do something.............the food at the restaurant took forever to get served and then it was overcooked....the […] drains in the rooms do not drain so you stand in your own dirty water in the shower there was no tub............sink was the same story.......I did talk to the management the day after but by then it was too late..........its not worth all the hassel there are so many other places to sty so iI would pass and try somewhere else. The parking lot is far from the lobby and there is not valet parking. There are lot of ants and flies around the garden and pool. There is not "menu" of room service in the room. The room corridors smell to moist.

I love Hotel REal de Minas. The price is right and the staff are lovely. there's a pool and we had a free continental breakfast every morning. Great location. Comfy beds. Only complaint... not enough drawers for clothes for my two week stay.

The room I stayed in was quite comfortable - the only problem was that the towels smelled like stall cigarette smoke and the carpet in the room was in pretty rough shape. A chemicl like order was ever-present. We had three nights at this hotel. It is a short walk to the old town centre of San Miguel. It is situated overlooking beautiful gardens. The reception staff were helpful up to a point when we had to complain about extremely unruly neighbours making a lot of noise in the corridors and in the room next to ours on the first night. Reception sympathised […] up to a point but criticized us for not reporting it to security at the time. (3.45 am). We asked that the room next door to us to be left unoccupied for the following 2 nights but they refused even though the hotel was not full. The soundproofing to the next room was terrible, we could hear their shower and teeth cleaning regime clearly as there was an interconnecting door. The service in the restaurant was patchy because many of the staff could not speak English. We wouldn't have expected them to, however the hotel advertises itself as being international and the mix ups in what we ordered and what actually arrived at the table was due to misunderstandings in language. The concierge service is fabulous, when my husband needed a dentist urgently we were assisted with the utmost care and consideration. Read more

We enjoyed our stay at your hotel, very much. However we noticed that there are very few hand railings for the stairs. Also we missed bars in the shower, which are needed for young and elderly, as well.. We needed a wheelchair, and were told that the two that they had , were out of order...... El hotel de primera impresión está bien pero fueron apareciendo detalles durante la estancia. Las habitaciones están amplias y limpias pero se ve que no han hecho mantenimiento al desagüe, por lo que se quedaba agua estancada tanto en lavabo como en la regadera. Finalmente, aunque nuestro viaje era de placer, tuve la necesidad de descargar unos archivos por Internet; se ofrece el servicio de manera gratuita pero el ancho de banda es el más lento que me ha tocado en mi vida, así es que si alguien va por viaje de negocios y requiere este servicio como algo primordial; será mejor que lo piense dos veces. Sinceramente, nao gostei do hotel, quarto de pouco conforto, satf pouco prestativo, Internet dificil de obter, muito barrulho por familias inteiras criaanças pelos corredores gritando e o pior o Hotel se encontrava em reformas e o barrulho era intenso ate ate perto da meia noite sem respeitar o nosso descanso, corredores cheio de poeira de cimento pelas […] obras, e na entrada do lobby dois enorme televisores com som altissimo para assistir jogos de futebol, creio que isto deveria ser realizado em uma sala apropriada para assistir TV e nao no lobby. Estuvimos un par de noche y desde la primera noche se escuchaban ruidos por la remodelación que estaban realizando (que yo pienso que en temporada alta se debe de evitar con una buena planeación). Dejaron de trabajar (martillazos, taladrando, haciendo cortes con maquina) pasadas de las 11 pm y eso fue porque estuvimos hablando desde poco antes de las […] 9 pm. Es una falta para el cliente que va a despejarse de ese tipo de situaciones. Peor aun empezaron a trabajar pasadas de las 8 am. Nos cambiaron de habitación a raíz de que lo solicitamos. La atención en general es buena. Los empleados son amables. Pero es un engaño que tienen internet complementario en la habitación. Yo reservé aquí porque tenía internet y yo lo necesitaba para poder trabajar. Hable 5 VECES al lobby a quejarme y pedirles que me urgia que porfavor lo resolvieran y las 5 ocasiones me dijeron que lo iban a checar y se comunicaban […] conmigo. Jamás me llamaron ni me dieron una explicación o una disculpa. El hotel cumple. No está mal, pero podría estar mejor. Las camas son bastante incómodas. Pero si lo mantienen bastante limpio. Hay un problema grave con los ruidos. Yo entiendo que es un hotel y no puede haber silencio absoluto, pero en mi habitación escuchábamos los ronquidos de la habitación de junto!!! NUNCA me había pasado eso en otro hotel. En el restaurante la atención fue bastante mala. Nos estaba atendiendo un mesero muy amable y a la mitad de la cena desapareció. Aproximadamente 30 minutos después, tuve que pararme a buscar a alguien que me siguiera atendiendo. Le explique mi situación al gerente y me dijo que es que mi mesero se había tenido que ir a entregar pedidos de room service y que ya no iba a regresar. Read more
