Pousada de Horta - Forte Santa Cruz - Horta

A very well located hotel on the harbor in Horta in an old fort with a beautiful view of Pico across the channel. While the room was clean and comfortable, we were disturbed by being able to clearly hear a guest in the adjacent room, as well as even quiet noises in the hallway through the door. The pool area was nice and well maintained. We had dinner […] in the hotel's restaurant which was very disappointing with very overcooked duck and chicken, the latter smothered in an unpleasing sauce. The location of this hotel is great, with a fantastic view across to Pico from the rooms facing the sea. Make sure you get a sea view room. This was the most expensive hotel that we stayed in on our tour of the islands and possibly could be considered a little overpriced, but we enjoyed the experience of staying within the old fort walls. Breakfast […] and dinner in the hotel were standard, not exceptional (although freshly squeezed juice and breakfast was great). Durch die Umwandlung eines alten Forts mit der zentralen Lage in Horta entwickelt die Anlage einen Charme, der allemal eine Empfehlung wert ist. Wer die Kälte der üblichen Hotelanlagen meiden will, ist allgemein in einer Pousade und auf Faial speziell in dieser Pousada gut aufgehoben. Sauberkeit durchschnittlich (Balkons), Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis […] im Restaurant ebenfalls. Frühstück gut, sonst draußen essen. Magnifique cadre authentique (Marina de Horta, Pousada dans un fort du XVe, vue sur Pico, l'océan, ...) idéal pour ceux qui aiment le monde la navigation, les ports, la mer, les volcans. Du personnel jeune, avenant et très sympathique.

Hotelli oli muuten erittäin miellyttävä; henkilökunta ystävällistä ja palvelualtista, ruoka hyvää, uima-allas ihana jne. Mutta hotelli on täysin homeessa ja homeen haju oli jo ala-aulassa vahva, huoneeseen tultaessa tyrmäävä.
