We got an upgrade when we checked in because everything else was sold out. It was on the 3rd floor (without an elevator!!) so I think they saw we were... fairly young and fit and asummed it would be ok for us. It was SO GREAT to have an extra bedroom and a NICE livingroom and full kitchen. It was probably the best place we stayed on our 5 week trip across the east coast of Australia. We have good time and place was in right place for us. For those who want walk on Strande it is little bit far but still not bad. Good street with place to eat.

Had a bumpy start with no power in the apartment so they moved us next door. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and very spacious. With a well equipped kitchen, air con and a lovely balcony off the bedrooms, we were extremely satisfied with our stay. I stayed at the Park Regis Anchorage Townsville establishment for 5 nights. The reason for my stay was that I fished in the 2012 Mike Carney Billfish Challenge held at the Townsville Motorboat club. I actually live in Townsville myself but for the ease of being able to simply walk down to the boats every morning and back of an afternoon was magic. Especially […] after a couple afternoon refreshments saving the problem of finding a way home and back every day. The place had awesome spacious rooms, lovely beds (which were amazing after a long days fishing) and up to date electronics (tv, white goods, iPod dock). The security was also a nice feature with a buzzer needed to get in and out of the establishment. The only down site was a random dirty looking hole in one of the walls, but I assume this was where an old ariconditioning unit was located. When it came down to it, the location and price won me over. Being just a short walk from the boats made life very easy even when actually living in Townsville and compared to the other surrounding hotels the pricing was very reasonable. Plus being upgraded at the last minute was the icing on the cake!! Look forward to returning for the 2013 Billfish Challenge. Read more
