"Unexpected quality for price and location"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The hotel's own website seems to understate its excellent location, as it has an opening into the main street of Sorrento just a short walk from the main square. It is within walking distance of the scenic old mill, the train station, the marina (with its outstanding seafood restaurants) and its stunning views of the bay of Naples and the hillside villas and hotels of Sorrento. The staff was very accommodating to our special needs, allowing us to leave our luggage and to use its restroom facilities even after we had checked out. Also, the price of the rooms was reasonable. Our party did not take the advice of the female night clerk who recommended that we eat at the restaurant next door; instead, we ate at Ristorante Delfino at the marina (which I also highly recommend).

"Near train Station and Walking distance to Sights"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
Very happy with Hotel Sorrento City. Staff spoke excellent English and were extremely helpful. Room was very comfortable with the only drawback being the TV in the room had only one Engligh speaking channel (MTV...ugh). Excellent location and easy to find right on the main street near the train station. Very good breakfast and free Wi-Fi included which worked very well in the room. Highly recommend Hotel Sorrento City.
"Should be a six star close to Air Port"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 3, 2012
We were going back to Charlotte NC. From the moment tbat we steped into the lobby area, We were greeted, taken care of. The hotel management to the person that carried our baggage to our room I felt that I was coming back to friends. I will stay at this hotel when ever I am in Naples. It was an outstanding short stay. What a palace.

This small town is wonderfully located over white steep cliffs and offers a fantastic view over the Bay of Naples. Typical products from Sorrento are produced with these Limoni: Limoncello, a very tasty lemon liqueur, lemon chocolate, colorful ceramic articles with lemon motives, or lemon soap. Or, try more than 70 different ice cream flavors at Gelateria Bougainvillea.

Near towns....far from the crowds. The entire staff was superb in every way. Best views are from the top floor !!!! We stayed here in early October.
"Beautiful hotel"
This was a great hotel. The room was in excelent condition, we got a huge balcony and the pool was perfect. The only issue is maybe the location, but the free shuttle bus runs every hour between the hotel and city center. After staying in a run down hotel in amalfi, this was a nice change.
"Inconvenient reception staff, far away from Piazza Tasso"
My wife and me visited Sorrento in September 2009 and stayed at Best Western Hotel La Solara. The hotel is quite far away from Piazza Tasso, which is the main hub for food, entertainment and shopping in Sorrento. There is a shuttle service every hour but if you miss the bus it is quite expensive to get to the downtown area from Via Capo, and walking […] is really not an option. Ideally, staying at a 10-15 min walk from the Piazza is perfect, which excludes this Hotel. The Hotel reception staff is very sleazy and cannot be trusted. It was around 82 F in late September but still needed A/C in the rooms, and the hotel reception staff turned it off and claimed that it was running perfectly which was a lie. For some reason, in the Italian country side like Sorrento or Naples, A/C is not a standard like in the US but a big luxury, which I find very 3rd world. Come on La Solara … Italy is part of the EU and American Tourists are paying a fortune getting to Sorrento and the least La Solara can do is to give them a good night’s sleep with A/C. Also, while Sorrento is a safe place to stay, watch out for Naples and the CircumVesuviana train (pick-pocket train). Read more

"Best Western La Solara in Sorrento, Italy"
This is a very comfortable hotel with friendly and helpful staff. They run a shuttle bus service into Sorrento (3km) and back. It needs it because there is nothing around the hotel at all. It's on a dangerous twisty road that you can't walk on unless you like dicing with death!. The pool didn't open till after 9 so we couldn't swim before breakfast. […] It was October but even in summer it doesn't open till 8.30 so that's a downer. Excellent restaurant - set meal or a la carte as you prefer. Couldn't use shuttle bus when we arrived as it wasn't clear where we had to pick it up. Read more
"Great hotel, but do you want to commute into town?"
Yes, the rooms are very clean, 4 star equipped, sound-insulated, huge. Yes, the service is excellent, friendly and helpful. Yes, the inclusive breakfast is a thing of beauty, great quality, great quantities too (though dinner, snacks & drinks were very expensive). Yes, the heated swimming pool and sun terrace are a great size, with a view of the sea […] and lemon groves. Yes, we enjoyed this hotel, and the complimentary bottle of wine. But there is one big factor you must take into consideration before booking La Solara. Location, location, location. And the transport to and from the location. Don't just pick it because it's no. 1 on Tripadvisor ! There are plenty of other good hotels in Sorrento. The hotel is not in Sorrento, it's on the outskirts of a village called Massa Lubrense. There's just a hotel and a main road, you're not even in Massa Lubrense itself. If you want trips to Pompeii, Mt Vesuvius, Capri, Amalfi Drive etc, you'll be travelling from Sorrento town centre to and from the hotel a lot. There's nowhere to stroll in the evening, nowhere to explore. You're either at the hotel or on the bus in transit. If you're there in the season and like spending the day sunbathing by the pool, this isn't a problem. You MUST NOT walk to the hotel from Sorrento town centre, it is at least 2 miles up the busy, fast main road, which climbs steeply up hairpin bends with NO pavement (sidewalk) and NO streetlights for the majority of the route. Add to this the Italian driving habits, and this is a dangerous road for pedestrians. Seriously. I walk a lot in the UK, I've been stuck on mountain passes in the dark in Wales and the Lakes, but I would not consider walking on this road. Transport options to La Solara: 1. Free shuttle bus. 1 per hour. Leaves Sorrento town centre 15 mins past the hour, from the marked bus stop outside Grand Hotel Cesare Augusto (one block uphill from train & bus station then turn right, 100 metres down street.). Journey time around 20 mins. Bus from Read more
"Best Western Hotel La Solara"
Fantastic hotel with an excellent pool and great staff. A good location away from the hustle and bustle of sorrento.
Read more

"ネットのランキング"
ネットのランキングが高かったのでこのホテルをえらびました。 ウエルカム赤ワインがおいてあったり、朝食にイースターのチョコでできた卵がおいてあったり、スタッフは、年齢の高めな人が多かったけど、すごくフレンドリーで暖かな接客であったり。ネットでのランキングが高い理由がわかりましたが、お値段が安めですが、すごく高級で眺めがすごくいいわけでは、ありません。
