"Excellent location and great staff"
My wife and I really enjoyed our five-night stay at the Millrace Hotel in Bunclody, Co. Wexford in September, 2013 while vacationing from the US. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was clean and spacious (just to compare, I stayed at a hotel in Belfast the night after my stay in the Millrace and thought I was in a ship’s cabin by […] comparison). The Irish breakfast was great with plenty to eat and do try their brewed coffee at breakfast; it was delicious. I also had lunch and dinner there a few times and no complaints there either. The Hotel is reasonably priced and they also have deals with Spa treatments and golf outings. The wifi performance was fantastic and better than any I have experienced while travelling abroad. Again, comparing the wifi speed to the Belfast hotel is like comparing a bicycle to a Maserati. I asked for a quiet room away from the road and pub and we did not hear a sound during our stay. The only complaint I have is in relation to the towels. They really need to buy some new towels as, while clean, they were old, stained and ragged. Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was generally very good and well equipped. Bathroom was a little dated and tired but clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Room only had a small oil-filled radiator so took a long time to warm up. Looked like some work was being undertaken in other rooms so maybe improved heating was being installed? Nice breakfast. Evening meal good, reasonably priced. Didn't use spa facilities so can't comment.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Booked double room but got twin room"
Informed staff on check-out of error with room and was surpried that they did not offer me anything for the inconvenience caused. Was awake very early from music playing in the hotel. The only good thing about this hotel was its locationGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"good location excellent facilities"
Overnight stay enroute would use again. Pleasant stay. Food okay in bar but waitied ages to get waiters attention.Genuine Expedia guest review
This was a great choice of location; the area is beautiful and interesting and helped give a badly needed recharge to the batteries. The hotel helped to do this. The pool and health facilities were excellent and the atmosphere relaxed quiet and calming. I found the food a little expensive; but there are many alternatives that can take the sting out […] this. Areas of the hotel badly need updating but overall we enjoyed our stay.had to move rooms initially as we were over the fans and had a constant vibration disturbing our sleep. Our stay was somewhat marred by a large group of selfish golfers who were noisy and inconsiderate at times. Several stole our breakfast table 3 times and my husband had to eat […] his at the bar on one occasion. Staff were friendly and accommodating despite the problems. Furniture in the bar area was old and dirty. Not enough staff in the dining area but the service was still excellent. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice comfortable hotel"
Stayed whilst visiting Enniscorthy Great hotel staff really friendly, evening meals very good, breakfast buffet style was OK but as with many buffets food was only warm never hot. Eggs were served on request and were cooked to own requirementsGenuine Expedia guest review
When we arrived we were greeted by a receptionist who was nice enough but answered the phone over dealing with us and gave the impression she didn't really want to be there.. She gave us a room key and when we got to the room it was a twin when we ordered a double. She was very accommodating about this however and gave us a different room. The room […] was nice but we found the tv remote wouldn't work properly. We went to the restaurant for dinner. We were well looked after and the staff were very accommodating. I ordered roast beef. Some of the beef was tough and overcooked, but overall it was good. Back in the room, we had a 3 pronged adaptor that wouldn't fit in the sockets in the wall for some reason. We have been lots of places with this particular adaptor and never had a problem. A lamp in the room didn't work, the shower also didn't work which was very disappointing.. the next morning i found a cuticle remover under the curtain and an open salt packet under the dresser which led me to believe that the room wasn't cleaned properly, and left me wondering about the bed sheets. Though or stay was pleasant enough we will not be returning, and woud not recommend this hotel, it's not up to the standard of four star. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel, fantastic food"
I had booked two nights here, but only needed to stay one night. The staff were very accommodating by cancelling the second night. I ate in the restaurant which was very good (lamb shank) and used the gym, which was much better than most hotel gyms I have seen in the UK. all in, I would gladly stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
Room was good however breakfast was a let down - not enough staff on. had to ask for pot of tea and coffee, and had to ask staff for sausage and eggs as there was none left.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great staff, Not so Great Hotel"
While the staff were lovely, there were too many little things that made our stay not too enjoyable. On arrival we had two single beds even though we booked a double room. This was after we had been phoned THREE times to confirm our arrival. Each time I pointed out I had pre-paid and would be there. The girl at the desk said to "Grab yourself a drink […] in the bar while we get the beds put together" which was odd considering we shouldn't be told when to "grab a drink" and the bed should be one double, not two singles zipped together. When we finally got to our room the beds where zipped together but would come apart during the night causing a dip in the middle. The TV didnt work and nobody knew how to fix it. We were 24 hours there before it was fixed. The food in the Bistro Bar was tasteless and not as advertised (roast beef on a bed of mashed potatoe = no bed of mash) while the pool was freezing and just downright ugly, the sauna wasn't working and the guy at the desk had no towels to give us. Unfortunately while the staff were VERY friendly and efficient, there was just too many little things that made our stay quite unenjoyable. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for the price I paid"
Seemed like a nice hotel, although I didn't use any of the facilities available. My room was OK, the lighting was dim and the bath was dirty, but I only noticed this in the morning. I would use again if I was in the area though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Hotel for a golfing weekend."
The Hotel was clean although getting close to needing a revamp. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the room was well presented. The breakfast was of good quality with plenty of choice, cooked or continental. The Hotel is in a perfect location for anyone interested in Golf . The Golf course is directly opposite the Hotel and they certainly […] compliment each other. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Who would have thought...."
....that we'd find a hotel like this in a little place like Bunclody! Everything worked, except for a shower in one of the rooms which was promptly fixed. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The public areas in the hotel were a little tired but overall we were very happy with our stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Value for money and access to the real Ireland"
Stayed here for three nights mid week. It was an ideal location to explore Wexford and Carlow at the same time doing some business that we needed to undertake. The staff were very friendly and helpful even if a little over stretched at times in the bar/bistro in the evening. The leisure club facilities were excellent for a 4* hotel and the breakfast […] & bistro food was of a good standard. You will need a car when you are here because it is a fair run to the coast or nearest big towns. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Dated and badly run"
When we arrived the receptionist answered the phone several times while checking us in so that we had to wait nearly ten minutes before we were given our key. The room was basic and very dated. Mould on the bathroom tiles and shower, lumpy old bed, poor quality tv and view of a high wall two metres from our window (even though we were on the second […] floor). Room was freezing and heating was hard to use. Went downstairs to order dinner in the bistro and found the main waiter very rude and sarcastic. Would not sit us at a reserved table (although it remained empty for the next hour) and only found us a table when we created a fuss. In fairness, other staff were very pleasant and the food was lovely. We were in a room which would double up as a suite so there was a closed door to the adjoining room. During the night we were woken by the couple next door coming in late. We were also awoken by other guests in the corridor. The walls are paper thin. All in all a very disappointing stay. Would not recommend. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Stayed for 1 night with 5 friends. its was exactly what we wanted, relaxing, dinner was super (the wings were to die for) popped into the village for a pint and then back for the live music in the bar. Services was great, all staff very polite. Perfect for a night away.
"Lovely staff but some problems"
01/26/15 ManusMcMinkel Dublin, Ireland
We visited the millrace hotel for one night on 23rd January. Staff on reception was lovely and gave us lots of information about the area. After checking in we discovered no heating in the room only an electric heater. Water was cold in the bathroom but we thought it would be ok the following day for showers. Next morning water was still cold but when we complained we were told no one else complained they would get some one to check the boiler and hopefully it would be ok then. This was no good to us as we were leaving that day. The breakfast would have been lovely but it was cold. Can't fault any of the staff and entertainment in the bar was great. Definitely not a 4 star hotel. Don't think I we will be returning.

Stayed here one night. Lovely hotel. Rooms are nice but be warned you can hear everything that goes on in the next room. We were in room 214 at back of hotel . The generator for spa area outside our window very noisy. The bar area is lovely although the staff aren't very quick at clearing tables. We sat at a table having a drink and the previous peoples cups sausers plates etc were still on table when we were leaving. Front desk staff can't be faulted. Would I return? No I don't think so.

From the lady on reception to the waitress and waiter were all very helpful and friendly and most importantly all had a smile ! Myself and my partner had a meal in the bar/restaurant it was very nice, big portions good value for money! Rooms are quiet small, simple and nice, only fault about the hotel was I didn't like the way the bar/restaurant is pretty much all open plan, there was no fine dining and for a 4star you would expect it, I wouldn't rate this hotel a 4star although we did enjoy our relaxing stay! :)

After looking forward to our weekend away for so long we returned home wishing we hadn't bothered. To say the millrace hotel was a let down is to say the least. If I were to rate this hotel 2stars would be 2 too many. The room was small, with a bed that had obviously seen better days, bowed in the middle, squeaked and creaked with little or no movement & pillows I would not put on my pet dogs bed. The shower was cold & barely enough water came out of the head to have a proper wash. We were supplied with only two towels between us. The room also had to be heated with a plug in oil radiator When we rang to ask about the bitbuzz code we was told by the receptionist she was busy checking someone in As far as the spa facilities are concerned......... spa as in a swimming pool on one level and a beauticians on another?? Does this warrant being labelled a spa? I don't think so. Breakfast was pretty much inedible bar your good old reliable cornflakes & wheataix, not exactly what you look forward to on a break away from home?? Needless to say we will not be recommending this hotel and I sincerely hope anyone considering staying here reads these reviews prior to booking
"Not a good experience"

we were welcomed with a smile from the lady on reception.we had dinner it was ok but the menu was very confusing,€59 menu with wine,I don't think we will be back again. In the bar the entertainment was very very good Donna Marie Sluds. The tables in the bar were not cleaned all night . Don't think we will be back nor could we recommend this hotel. It was very cold in the bar and restaraunt.
"Not a 4 Star hotel"
01/15/15 Kenko80 Greystones, Ireland, Europe
First off...the front desk staff were brilliant from start to finish. Although when I rang at 1am to ask when the noisey River side place beside us ended their loud music, I was just told "I am not in charge of that place. I do not know." Once I was told of all the great packages in the spa, I booked the hotel, then got a call saying the spa was fully booked and the mud room was broken. They did accommodate us on one of the evenings though in the end. The room was 2 star at best. Like one you'd see in a cheap airport hotel. One small pillow each in a small 'double' room. The food was great in their restaurant. Don't let them recommend the River side pub/restaurant for another night as it's really just a pub. I'm afraid I would not recommend this Hotel or town for a romantic get away.

"Great Midweek Getaway"

I spent one night here during the week with five friends as a spa getaway. I have absolutely nothing to fault in the hotel. We arrived down early at approx. 2.30 and were checked in immediately. As we were booked in as a party of six, two of the rooms out of three were joined by an interconnecting door. This was very considerate of the hotel to do this for us. Upon arrival we booked in for dinner and left our bags into the rooms. At this point we booked in our treatments in the Danu Spa for the following day. The therapist on the phone was extremely helpful and catered for our needs. We went for lunch in the Mill Bar which was absolute delicious. The staff were super friendly and helpful. After lunch we visited the leisure centre which was also fantastic, staff were helpful and facilities were very well kept. We returned to the Mill for dinner (part of a package) and were not disappointed. The menu had a great selection to cater for all. Again, staff were very helpful and did not rush us even though we were the last party in the restaurant! The following morning we went for breakfast at 9.30 and were extremely happy with how it was served. There was a cold buffet and then we ordered our hot food separately. It was delicious. We went to the spa after breakfast and were extremely happy with our treatments. There was six of us and only one therapist so we waited in the relaxation room while the other treatments were being done. This was a great end to a fabulous trip. It only cost €75 for one night B&B plus a two course dinner which was well worth the money. Would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.

We booked our stay through Escape.ie as a wedding anniversary get away. From the beginning we had to wait a while to check in as the receptionist was occupied with someone on the phone, 2 staff members went walking past one of whom was a manager but none offered to help out. The room and bathroom were clean, but we noticed some big stains on the carpet and mattress also need to be replaced as it was a bit sagging in the middle. We stayed in room 104 facing the leisure center so was nice and quiet. We had a meal in the restaurant that evening and the meal and all the restaurant staff were fantastic. Later we moved to relax in to the lounge and we ordered ice cream for a desert. What we got was comparable to Tesco Value ice cream, it was pink but in no way else was it related to strawberry. There seemed to be some confusion when we told the staff that we wanted REAL ice cream and they soon came back with the same ice cream but differently decorated. They told us that this was the only ice cream that they had...we have stayed at 4 star hotels before and they all have their own ice cream and if you do not make it yourself at least get the better quality. The breakfast was nice, good selection, but the coffee we were given actually went grey when we added milk to it, it also tasted burnt. We noticed that the coffee was premade probably to save time when is busy. How there is no fresh coffee make to order only premade one is also beyond me.
