We had never been to Venice before. The hotel staff were the nicest people I've met in my life. I've traveled to a few countries over the world and I've stayed in what some would consider to be the "finest" of hotels and resorts. Not one of them made me feel more at home than the staff here. If I could I would live there no hesitation. The food served […] each day was fresh and top notch...if not a little bit on the pricey side. But the atmosphere is something that can't be described. The hotel grounds(for lack of a better word) are pristine and clean. My girlfriend and I spent 45 minutes walking around with a glass of wine in each hand. It would be the BEST place for a destination wedding I have been to. The best part about this hotel is that it is off the main city of Venice. You get instant access to the city and get a place to retreat to and have some private time. Our room had a view of Venice...each morning we started our day by looking over the city and having some tea. I can't say enough about how much effort goes into your wonderful experience. We really appreciated our stay at the hotel. We travel a lot, spending about 140 nights a year on the road. I woud not recommend this hotel if you need a good internet connection in your room. When I called to tell them we had a problem with the internet the office4 told me that is why they do not charge for the service. The staff were very pleasant and professional. We were greeted with a complement bottle of Champagne when I mentioned it was our anniversary. The hotel provides free shutlle boat to St. Marks across the canal every half hour. Breakfast is included and the choices are numerous.

I stayed at the Bauer Palladio hotel & spa with my husband and 7 yr old. We arrived late in the evening and were greeted at the dock by one of the hotel staff. We took a private water taxi and arrived from the airport to the hotel pier in about 45 minutes. We checked in with no problem and were escorted to our room. The room was huge! High ceilings, […] flat screen TV, double bed and a rollaway bed set up for our son. We had 2 windows with the garden view. The entire staff was extremely helpful with directions to the main island. They have a water shuttle that leaves the pier every hour to their sister hotel the Bauer Hotel and it only takes 5 minutes to cross the canal. There are also a couple of water bus lines about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Its about 6 euros and change to get to the main island where you can also transfer to the Lido and Murano islands. The restaurant was good and so was the breakfast. There are also a couple of local grocery stores past the Russina art gallery on Guidecca that sell fresh sandwhiches, beverages and toilettries and reasonable prices. The front desk will also recommend restaurants at your request. The gym is small but clean and modern. The gardens are beautiful and peaceful. The spa is expensive but very nice. I would definately recommend this over staying on Venice in the summer. The main island is crowded with tourists but you can find nice restaurants and bars on the small streets away from San Marco square. Read more

The hotel is beautiful and service very good. The location is a bit off the path and there is little on the island that is open. There are beautiful views from the room, but only one window in the room so a little dark. The hotel does have a shuttle hourly across the lagoon and is close to the vaparetto.

The Bauer Palladio was well worth the trip! Very easy to get to via water taxi. The accomodations were great. The staff was helpful and even provided suggestions of things to do after our walking tours were over. Breakfast was top quality. I would highly recommend this hotel.

In my mind this was not a 5 Star Hotel - rooms were very small & the service was just ok. The wifi service was a joke & the breakfast offered as part of our room rate was very average indeed - having to wait 20-25 minutes to secure a table for breakfast was definately unacceptable considering the 5 Star satus given to this hotel.

Not as comfortable as we would have expected - no bar for example. Beds and pillows hard, just general lack of expected luxury and comfort. Lovely bathroom. Superb service. Outdoor breakfast and dinner area lovely when weather permits. When weather poor the breakfast room is dark, gloomy, uncomfortable and downright depressing!

Overall, a pleasant stay. Staff are very well trained to make you feel at home. The service is superb. The only drawback, is the thin wall between the two rooms, can become intrusive. My advise to everyone is not to make a special request to book a room with a view. You are more likely to get a room with a partial view of lagoon view, nevertheless.

Complimentary motor launch runs from the hotel to "mainland" every 30 minutes starting from 10 am up to around midnight but special arrangements possible for travel outside those times. For a 5* star hotel we found it disappointing. The breakfasts were very poor and the free internet in the office was a real joke (response times were so slow). Garden was very nice though as a place for relaxing after a hard day site seeing although the sunbed covers could have been washed occasionally as the birds had got there first!
