Overall we were very impressed with the Gloria Resort in Sanya. Not quite up to the 5 Star standard it claims, but a good 4 Star hotel by Western standards. The location is fantatsic - literally a two minute walk to the beautiful Yalong Bay. We had a Deluxe Ocean View room which had a superb view overlooking the sea and surrounding countryside & mountains. Hotel facilities were very good, rooms were spacious & well equipped, and the staff were friendly and efficient. The quality of food in the hotel was only reasonable, and the Japanese restaurant on the second floor was quite pricey. We availed of the barbecue buffet option a couple of nights (down by poolside), which came to approximately €18 per person - the food was only so so and the dish options limited. On balance though a very enjoyable stay, and the hotel offered good value for money relative to some of the International Resorts operating in Yalong Bay (Hilton, Sheraton etc.), most of which were almost double the price of Gloria.

Great! Hotel is right on the boardwalk - cross it and you are on a beautiful beach reminiscent of a Caribbean tropical island full of coconut trees... swaying in the breeze . No need for a taxi - hotel is in the center of town, walk down the street and you can buy an assortment of tropical fruits. No need for entertainment - the boardwalk is full of activity. Chinese folks playing instruments, couples ballroom dancing, people singing, lots of young families and retired couples... a truly amazing sight and memorable visit. Staff very attentive. We, family of three, booked a seaview standard suit, all is fine with the hotel except the breakfast which is so so. The beach is right cross the road from the hotel, the city center is five minutes away by taxi, local goods and products from all China can be found in the huge department stores, where we really did 'shop until drop', everyday swiming, […] eating and shopping. 三亜湾に直面していて、波の音で目が覚める、そんな場所です。周囲は夜になると夜店が出たり、ローカルな店が多かったりと、とても便利です。朝ごはんも散歩がてら食べることができます。バスも多く走っており、大東海などに出るのもとても便利でした。ただ、三亜湾は思ったよりもきれいではないかもしれません。亜龍湾・大東海といった三つのビーチに行きましたが、三亜湾は透明度で他二者に劣ります。亜龍湾はプライベートビーチが林立（といってもブイで区切られているだけ）し、監視員が意味もなく笛を吹いていて落ち着きません。ブイに近づいただけで笛の音が聞こえます。お勧めは大東海です。透明度も高く、海岸もきれいです（ただし、隅っこのほうに中国人のヌーディストがいてびっくりしました）。そして周りに食事をするところも多い。ロシア人 […] も多いのでロシア料理や洋食屋さんがそろっています。このホテルからバスで２０分くらいでいけます。結局私は一度も三亜湾のビーチでは海に入らず、毎日大東海に通っていました。 Read more
