"Disappointed"
Very unfriendly staff. When we arrived by cab I had to go inside to find valet. He was sitting at desk chatting. Person at desk didn't even say welcome. Cab driver much nicer. Room bare minimum. Chaise chair impossible to sit comfortably. On positive note breakfast very nice.

"Friendly boutique hotel"
Loved this hotel and would stay again if I ever return to Lisbon. The staff is very warm and friendly - willing to answer every question. The room was gorgeous and quiet, breakfast buffet scrumptious and the location perfect - easy walk to major sites and neighborhoods, convenient to a subway stop, close to lots of good restaurants.

"Fantastic experience, would stay there again"
We had a fantastic time and I would recommend this hotel to all our friends. The hotel is in a perfect location, was clean, comfortable and quiet. The hotel staff, especially Patricia, were AMAZING. Ours was a corner room and was on the cozy side but was clean and airy with great light. Though we were on a busy street corner, with the windows closed it was perfectly quiet. Gym and pool are a great plus. Two critiques to share: the hallways were oddly warm and smelled a bit musty, and(a lot of people have mentioned this), either the breakfast tables are too low or the chairs are too high so it was a bit uncomfortable to eat breakfast, but the food was so yummy and the location so great that it's a small price to pay.

"Stylish hotel in a great location"
Perfect hotel to discover Lisbon by foot. Comfortable, good service, nice breakfast and tea bar. Rather small hotel: only one elevator, few rooms per floor, small pool and gym. Good hotel for a romantic vacation. Some minor negative points: Bathroom could be modernized, and our view was on a parking lot (ask to be on one of the higer floors). For the location, comfort of the room, staff firendliness and general look of the hotel, I'd definitely go back.

"Great boutique hotel in great location"
Having never been to Lisbon before, we feel fortunate to have found this gem in the heart of everything. Although the only available meal is breakfast, it was all we needed. If we're fortunate enough to get back to Lisbon, we will certainly return to Heritage Liberdade.

"Great hotel"
Located within easy walking distance of the city centre and main squares. Plenty of restaurants nearby, particularly recommend Sancho right opposite the hotel across the road. Bus tours good value and interesting, but beware the green route up to the castle, the open top (small) bus gets caught up in downtown traffic jams which are horrendous and if you have breathing problems, traffic fumes might see you off! Having said that the castle is a great visit with good views over the city. Also recommend the Botanical Gardens which are fantastic, rare massive trees and very peaceful, there's also a butterfly house to visit. Shame about the graffiti absolutely everywhere, on doors, walls, monuments, churches. Overall though an interesting city to visit, we would go back.

"Great Hotel, Great Location."
The hotel is situated on Avenida Liberdade which is a short walk from the centre of Lisbon. From the moment our taxi arrived at the front door to checking in and being in our room was no longer than 10 minutes. We had a lovely corner room on level 5 which was spacious, clean and very comfortable. A breakfast buffet was included which was served in the lounge/lobby and was served up until midday. The food was simple but fresh and well cooked.

"Great location, stylish interior."
Three-night stay in March for some early spring sun, which we got. This is a hotel with a sense of style, in a central but quiet location. The lounge is a pleasant place to sit after a day out, with its selection of teas, coffees, Port and Madeira (all complimentary). The room was large, well-furnished and with an excellent bathroom. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but the breakfast buffet was good.

"Heritage Avenida da Liberdade - A great place"
Very comfy and welcoming hotel. Centrally placed but not noisy, partly due to good soundproofing. They don't do evening meals, but are so close to lots of restaurants and bars that it is not a problem; in fact it adds to the fun. The idea that you can come in any time for a coffee or a glass of wine (free) makes it really easy to use as a base and pop in and out as necessary. Decoration to a very high standard and well kept. Breakfast is good and enough to set you up for a days sightseeing. All the staff are friendly and helpful - always with a smile.

"Lovely hotel close to shops and restaurants"
The Heritage Avenida Liberdade is a very attractive hotel when viewed from the street and once inside. It is a small hotel, very elegant but relaxed and friendly. The staff spoke English (I also heard them speaking fluent French to other guests) and were extremely helpful. Our room was lovely with twin beds and a chaise longue as well as another chair. The room overlooked the street but there was no noise or light disturbance at night as there were shutters in addition to the curtains. Breakfast was served between 7.30 and 12.00 noon. The choice of food and drinks at breakfast was fantastic and constantly replenished. Coffee and a wide range of different teas and a jug of iced water remained available, in the lounge, for guests to help themselves throughout the day. In addition to the reception lounge there is a mezzanine lounge where one can use the computers, borrow books, read that day's international newspapers or borrow board games. A complimentary glass of tawny or ruby port was a lovely way to round off the day when we returned to the hotel after a day's sightseeing.

"The perfect place!"
This hotel is just wonderful. It's a relatively small hotel, in an old building. However, the facilities are excellent. The staff are so helpful, and small touches like the free port and tea in the evenings make the stay even more comfortable. It's right in the centre of Lisbon, but it's not noisy and the Aerobus shuttle stop about 4 mins away.

"A very comfortable hotel"
The hotel is an older building but very well maintained and with a pleasant atmosphere. The hotel was full (in February) and the guests came from a large number of countries, so there was a pleasing variety of folk to talk to. Breakfast lasted until mid-day which relieved any early morning pressure. The breakfast itself was was very varied ranging from fruit and croissant through various pastries to bacon, egg and tiny frankfurters. To finish, of course there were Portuguese custard tarts. The room was extremely clean and very comfortable. A safe and a mini-bar were provided and there was ample stowage space and a little balcony. Overall the hotel contributed greatly to a very enjoyable stay in Lisbon.

"Very good hotel close to Lisbon centre"
Stayed here for a long weekend in February 2015. Location is very convenient for sightseeing, eating, access to all facilities. Note the hotel does not have a restaurant but there is a comprehensive, good quality buffet breakfast provided & a well stocked bar. Hired a car on one day (Europcar depot about 300 metres up Av da Liberdade) to play golf at the Lisbon Sporting Club - beware, road signs are sometimes confusing & sparse outside of central Lisbon so a satnav is recommended. Golf Course was great for high handicapper like me! Vast range of restaurants to eat in - service was universally excellent & quality good with prices making it exceptional value for money. Taxis are readily available all over Lisbon & not particularly expensive. Definitely a place I would return to.

"Central location ideal to explore Lisbon"
Never having been to Lisbon, it was a question of finding a hotel that was near the centre so that we could explore by foot or by public transport. The Heritage Avienda Liberdade Hotel fitted the bill admirably as we found when we arrived and in the next three days we were there. Within walking distance, were historic monuments, lovely squares and local restaurants. We had booked a minibus tour for the day after our arrival and this proved a good move. We booked with Celina Tours and we had an excellent driver who explained the characteristics of the Portuguese nation and its history. He took us to important places we would not have known about or reached if we had been left to our own devices. We visited the castle, various churches, the King Edward VII Garden, Belem where we had lunch and visited the shop where the famous cakes are made. We went over the Tagus to visit the huge statue on the other side of the estuary. The next day we walked to the National Tile Museum. We could have taken the bus or a taxi but preferred to explore on foot. The museum was very interesting. On our last day we went up the observation tower near the centre of Lisbon. This gives a good view of the part of the city rebuilt after the earthquake in 1755. One of the things we did not do was to take a ride on oner the famous Lisbon trams or cable cars. All in all a very enjoyable short stay.

"Superb hotel central location great staff"
We stayed 3 nights in one of the Heritage rooms in mid Feb 2015 , well worth the extra money for a superb large room with a huge bed , large leather sofa , hUge bathroom with bath ,shower , double sink , wc and bidet.. From the second you walk through the door you are treated as a special guest by the doorman and the super friendly staff on reception . Our room was ready and we were treated to a large decanter of MAdeira wine which was a very nice touch . The breakfast room and bar area are very comfortable and again there is free port and wine available for the guests which no one seemed to abuse as all other guests also seemed to be very pleasant people . The buffet style breakfast was plentiful and excellent , well worth the outlay . The hotel is halfway down the Avenida Liberdade the main road in LIsbon and easily reached via the metro from the airport , you are central to all the main centre roads , bars , restaurants and attractions. My wife and I couldn't rate this hotel more highly it really is superb in all respects

"Great hotel, central for everything."
We were here for four nights and the reviews are all correct, it is a super place. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful, speaking excellent English which was great as our guide book Portuguese was very limited! Breakfast was varied and plentiful and kept us going all day. Tea, coffee, biscuits and port were freely available too. We asked for tea and coffee in the room so I did have to venture down in PJs for the early morning cup and this was provided immediately. We had a room at the back which was quiet enough to have the windows open at night. There was even an internet room so we could print boarding passes for the return journey. We would definitely return to Lisbon and this hotel.

"Friendly Hotel near to the centre of Lisbon"
Due to the location of the Hotel, we were able to get out and sample the delights of this lovely city. The all day travel passes were superb, allowing us to get around, using public transport on a sort of Hop on Hop off basis. Working out routes took a little research, but that wasn't a problem. We would have liked the weather to be a little warmer, but what do you expect in February. Really surprised by how cheap it was to go to a concert, and to eat out, when compared with London. A visit to the Belem area is a must. If you run out of time, the Cathedral can be missed, it was a little disappointing when compared with some of the other churches.
