Hot springs alleged to relieve rheumatism gush into a walled basin in the centre of this ancient Roman spa town. Dax once prospered on the proceeds of barges laden with Armagnac wines, along with timber from its outlying pine forests. The hotel is nothing like the pictures posted on the web site. I could not believe it when we drove in. It is run down and tired, the room was in a poor state of repair and not clean, it had a very strong smell of cigarette smoke, the next day our clothes smelt of smoke, you can also hear what ever the people in the next room are talking about, (somebody […] decided to shower at 3am!) the walls are so thin.We are so dissapointed with this stay. Présence , dans une chambre assez proche de la notre, d'occupants ( plusieurs personnes, au moins 5 ou 6 ) extrêmement bruyants : bruits de pas, éclats de voix et rires en continu jusqu'à 06h du matin. Acceuil très agréable,le lac près de l'hôtel est très beau.La literie est super confortable et le plateau de courtoisie est appréciable à l'arrivée du voyage.Les femmes de chambre sont au petit soin.Mais étant clients des CAMPANILE depuis 20 ans sont avons été très déçus des Buffets d'Entrées et de Désserts,qui étaient presque vides à 20h30,nous n'osions […] pas nous servir pour que les autres clients qui continuaient à arriver pour dîner puissent avoir au moins quelque chose dans leurs assiettes!!! Depuis que les CAMPANILE ont mis en place ce système de verrines et de nouvelles entrèes fortes agréables, nous étions contents de dîner mais nous avons été satisfaits!!!Pour un séjour d'anniversaire de mariage!!!! il a fallu le "digérer".Cependant cela n'est pas la même chose dans tous les CAMPANILES car nous descendons au CAMPANILE du Futuroscope au moins 2 fois par an : RESULTAT EXTRA : Choix, Abondance et les plats chauds super bons!!!! Alors pourquoi pas à DAX?? Par contre le Buffet du petit déjeuner extra il y avait tout ce que nous pouvons espérer pour un très copieux petit déjeuner, il aurait fallu que cela soit la même chose pour les repas du soir. Nous n'étions pas habitués à cela chez CAMPANILE de plus pour un anniversaire de mariage. Vraiment DOMMAGE !!!! Nous continuerons par contre de descendre au CAMPANILE DU FUTUROSCOPE . Assez bien situé, calme, il souffre surtout de la vetusté de la partie hôtel ( la partie restaurant est renovee) L'interdiction de fumer dans les chambres est une illusion. La personne de la reception nous a dit, quand on a demande de changer de chambre car celle qui nous etait allouee empestait le tabac: on ne regarde […] pas si nos clients fument.
