To get to the Clarion, depart the Frankfurt Hbf to your front leftmost exit and proceed down the escalators. This will allow you to cross the street underground. The Clarion sign is hard to see; you'll know you’re in the area when you observe all the red-light establishments. Communication in English with the staff was satisfactory. The walk to the […] Christmas Market requires about 15 minutes. The receptionist willingly provided directions and a map to the Market. The room was clean, efficient and sufficiently spacious. The curtains allowed in a significant amount of street light. Despite the quality windows, the street sounds were profound. Not a good place to get rest, frankly. The shower was fine and the water pressure excellent. The pillows were the normal Euro type; not too much fluff to them. Each half of your bed comes with its own comforter. There is no clock in the room. The sauna and fitness area are located in the basement. This room was very cold. Two large vents facilitate airflow and street noise without filter into the room. The sauna is nice and the shower is excellent with a powerful overhead fixture, but the racket from the street and the lack of environmental control diminish the experience substantially. We selected the Clarion for cost and access to the Hbf for an early morning departure to the airport on our last night in Germany. I’d summarize by stating you’ll have a very nice staff in a very below average neighborhood managing a very average property. Read more

The hotel is conveniently located near the train station. It was easy to get around and close to all public transportation. A real nice hotel. The neighborhood was a little sketchy, it is located on the corner of a Adult entertainment area. I didn’t have any problems with the area.

-I stayed here on a whim the night I got to Frankfurt, needless to say it was for one night only, this hotel was priced great, but you pay for what you get. It was kinda gross, and the neighborhood.. YUCK! We werent even able to stay here. Did not feel safe. In the heart of red light district. Prostitution in broad daylight. Strip clubs lining the street, creepy looking men leering. makes for very uncomfortable stay. chose originally for good price and proximity to the main hub for trains going in and out of frankfurt (literally 0.5 blocks away). There was no security or control upon entering the hotel: anyone could walk in off the street and walk up to the rooms without passing the front desk or any security. Considering the drug dealers and addicts and the prostitutes in the area (very close to the central train station) this is a very dangerous flaw of the hotel. If you are looking for a hotel that is in the middle of the red light district with no parking (but an attached garage that costs 27 Euros to park at) this place is the best. Otherwise...stay away. The Clarion Collection Frankfurt is amidst the red light district of the city! You don't want to stay here if you will be out after dark or have children. I was groped by prostitutes on two occasions walking back to the hotel! People were shooting up drugs outside. Just have others have mentioned, this is a nice, clean reasonable hotel right next door to the redlight district and the station. The hotel is right on the border of this seedy area. In going from the train station to the hotel you don't really truly enter the district, but it is right there. THIS IS A REVIEW OF THE CLARION COLLECTION HOTEL FRANKFURT, although at the top of the page it seems to say City Plaza. It's no a problem, but be aware this hotel is in the heart of Frankfurt's red light district. It does mean that if you venture out desperate women grab at your clothing and burly young men bounce around in front of you, both trying […] to persuade you to visit their clubs. On my first morning, breakfast was a pretty disappointing affair, as it was explained to me the gas had broken down. Returning to my room on the fourth floor, I discovered the lift had also broken down. I was cross when I got a series of early morning calls, followed by banging on my door and shouting. It was explained to me that it was okay, it was just guests who got confused. Fine. I said the staff were okay. Actually, this is unfair on them. The Clarion Collection is one of those hotels that uses every trick to save money and that includes cutting staff levels to the bone and then failing to give them back up. Staff dealt with conditions at the hotel as best they could and with good humour. This hotel was sold to me as a four star hotel. It is not by any stretch of the imagination. The walls in my room were very thin, with great chunks knocked out of them. I'll probably stay elsewhere next time I'm in Frankfurt. Read more

My wife and I stayed here, even though we found the staff very helpful this hotel must serve the worst breakfast ever and the breakfast room is rediculously small. I had the most wonderful stay at the City Plaza, I didnt realise it was in the Red light district and was a bit nervous initially, but it was full of activity, and I enjoyed the sights.... The economy room was small but that was all I needed, the room was clean and tidy, I was surprised how quiet the room was considering I was right on the road, and […] 4 flights up, couldnt even hear the traffic. The barman was very friendly and most helpful, actually all the staff including the manager were fantastic and made me feel very welcomed and safe. 28歳、女性です。 友人との旅行で利用しました。とにかく荷物を持ち歩くのが嫌だったので、駅から近くて安ければどこでもいいという基準でホテルを探しました。 旅行中は荷物を減らすために下着や靴下などの小さなものは洗剤で手洗いをしていたのですが、アイロンがあったのでとても助かりました。それにポットもあったので寒い冬にはありがたかったです。 結局ドイツ、ベルギーを回る一週間ほどの旅で一番よかったと思います。 ただ、近辺はエッチなお店が多いのでそういうのを気にする人には向かないかも… 私たちは気にせず朝も夜も歩いてましたが全く問題ありませんでした。
