At first site, we were disappointed in the decor of the hotel and the room. The rooms need updating. However, the view and proximity to the ocean were amazing. The staff that work at the Lanterns restaurant were a bit cold shoulderish, but most of the hotel staff were very nice. The beach access was great and the water was perfect. The beach is public so we did run into many locals trying to sell services and goods, including drugs.

the people working there took care of business..the hotel could use a bit of updating. As a single male the "hustlers" along St lawerence gap were a constant annoyance.

This was a great place for us to stay. The room was large enough because it included a bedroom and a living area. It also provided a small kitchen, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker. The beach was beautiful and the pool clean. We had a car to get around the island and spent alot of our time seeing the sites and visiting different restaurants. This hotel was perfect for us because it provided us with a nice place to stay without having to pay for alot of other amenities.

Advised hotel ahead of time our midnight arrival and were relieved at our kind receptionist. Taxi ride: $16.00 US: good deal. Facilities might be a little tired, but were just what we needed: clean, roomy, well-lit outside, quiet, secure, very close to the prettiest beach on the island, nice restaurant, half-way between airport and cruise port. The price was right. Recommend.

Overall this is a great hotel- particularly if you want an adorable West Indies style bungalow. The only drawback is that if you are a first time visitor... to Barbados, you'll want to travel to Holetown, Bridgetown, and Oistens for activities and those are all pretty far. But if you are looking for a quiet restful place and willing to rent a car, this is your place. The nearest beach is Mullins Beach (beautiful) but is about a half hour walk. Upgraded to a luxurious three- bedroom villa with a huge verandah and gorgeous interior design, we felt as if we had stumbled into the pages of a glossy magazine.
