BEST WESTERN KINGS ARMS HOTEL - Dorset (county)

Although the hotel is old, and comes with creaky stairs and slightly archaic layout, it also comes with a bit of history, great location and excellent staff. I would certainly have this hotel in mind if I venture down to Dorchester again.

We enjoyed our 1night stay.We were visiting friends who live in Dorchester.The rooms are good size &bathroom very nice and toiletries supplied.One small detail which is down to Housekeeing really.The overflow outlet in sink could do with a good clean,very black and grimmy.This can only be seen when useing the toilet and at eye level,but a good cleaner […] would know this has to be cleaned regularly.To find the room first time was like being in a maze but it was not a big problem once we new which way to go..Although there were 2 office parties in full swing with load music ,we could not hear any noise in our room,so were not affected.Breakfast selection was very good.We pre booked cooked breakfast £7 50p pp,£15pp if you do not book it on line or book when you check in at reception.Also wide choice of yogurt,fruit,cereals toast,or fresh local bread.marmalade &jam or honey and plenty of tea,coffee or fruit juices.We had cereal while waiting for breakfast to be cooked (15min)&finished with toast &marmalade.Good value.Hotel on main High St so central for all shops ,cafe;s resturants &museums .Hotel has a resturant but we did not use it ,but it did look nice.Would use again,very pleasant stay and friendly staff. Only stayed one night, which was unfortunate as the room was lovely! Very pleasing, comfortable, clean and very pleasant staff - what more could you want!
