This property is hip yet cozy and welcoming. With only a small number of rooms, the hotel offers intimate service and individual attention. Rooms and common areas are decorated in an edgy style - very stylish. The breakfast is quite generous (served in its small breakfast room, where you're likely to sit at the same table with other guests). Staff members were extremely helpful and friendly, going the extra mile to help me out with public transport. If you arrive at the Bratislava railway station, consider taking the electric bus (trolley), rather than a taxi. Mama's is located just short walk from a trolley stop (call reception or look it up on google maps). I paid a ridiculous 15 euro for a very short ride; if I had known how easy it was to get to Mama's for a mere .70 euro, I'd have happily done so. Regardless of your method of transport, you'll be glad to have made the effort to get to Mama's.

So much for pre-paid 100 %. Surprise at checkout...City Tax and huge other surprise : Used a toll free number and calling card to call back to USA. Hotel "forgot" to block toll free numbers so they charged me hotel rates to USA and my calling card was billed. Management would not discuss mistake by staff. Visa will sort it out for me. I refuse to pay $ 200.00 for 15 minutes of talking over and above what it cost on my calling card !!

Good location for airport, very comfortable room and bathroom, lovely breakfast, all staff very welcoming and helpful. Not in an attractive area but it was safe and quiet and was not a problem. God value for money.

"A night on the Danube"
Hotel was a good value for the money spent. Location is very convenient to down-town being only a 5-10 minute walk. No shops, restaurants or any "neighborhood" to speak of in the general vicinity around the Botel. Just a long stretch of sidewalk paralleling a major road leading into downtown. I never felt unsafe walking on this though, even later in […] the evening. Hotel is very near to the main bridge in Bratislava with the UFO restaurant on it and a nice walking park on the far side of the bridge. Hotel staff spoke decent English. Where their ability was lacking they made up for it with friendliness and a desire to communicate and help you with your stay. Staff spoke very little German, which is surprising considering the proximity to Vienna, and usually deferred to English despite my willingness to speak either. The top floor serves as an authentic Indian restaurant. Did not eat there but was told the food is excellent. Bottom floor is a small bar. This gets really loud at night but was not a disturbance in the room. If you're in the lobby though it is loud. There is a pole in the club which made me assume it was a strip club, but I never saw any girls doing any such things. Breakfast was surprisingly good. Served in the Indian restaurant on the top floor of the boat it has a nice view over the river. Serves bread, meat, cheese, jams and yogurt with juices and milk to drink. Restaurant staff also offered to cook us eggs to our liking - we had omelets. No solid means of getting to airport (M.L. Stefanik) from Botel except a bus ride requiring multiple change overs or a €20 taxi ride (which the Botel called for us). All and all, a very good stay. Botel Marina is a short and pleasant walk along the riverside from the old town. Sleeping on a boat is fun. The cabins are compact, minimalist but comfortable. Everything worked more or less properly. Buffet breakfast on the cruise deck, with the river streaming by in the summer light. A very low rate. Free WiFi, an excellent Indian restaurant, and […] a nice bar that stays open late complete the picture for the passing traveller. Negative points: service is variable. The staff are stressed and sometimes graceless. There is no concierge so the reception deals with everything from "where's the old town" to "my airco is broken". There is no espresso and the bar closes early if there's no customers. The botel needs some renovation to avoid becoming seedy. Let me start off by saying Bratislava is gorgeous, however, if you are not on a really tight budget, find a real hotel. It has nothing to do with this being a boat as I have a 30ft sailboat and find it accommodating. The walk to get to the boat really isn't that bad once you get used to it, as its way down the river from downtown. I just don't like […] when they advertise all over that the restaurant stays open until a certain time and when you go to eat the staff are telling you they are closed (1 hour early) or that it list the bar open until 3am, however, it is part of said restaurant. I sent laundry out to be done as they stated it could be done it the same day but I was told it couldn't but assured it would be at my room by 7am. At 9am I am looking for my clothes to shower and go to breakfast. (they showed at 9:45am after 2 trips to the front desk) I did eat in the restaurant the following night (got there early) but was not allowed to sit at the bar after my meal while they were still open for another hour. (you guessed it....I was told they were closed, however they had a big party going on in the dining room) Evening desk clerk spent more time out on the boat deck w/ her boyfriend than helping customers. Fridge in the room was not cold and neither was the air conditioning. DO NOT expect the experience to be like that of a hotel and plan to eat and drink elsewhere. Read more

Stay away. If you are by car, remember there is incredibly, no area to stop to unload persons and luggage. You literally stop on emergency lights, with cars passing 1 mt from you at 100 km/h. We stayed at the Botel for 4 nights towards the end of October. It is situated just a short, pleasant stroll along the Danube from the Old Town, which was a lovely aspect to our stay. The botel itself is by no means luxurious, but nor does it claim to be. You can expect exactly what you find, basic, inexpensive accomodation on a boat with a lovely old […] world feel to it. You also have the benefits of the fabulous view of the Danube when you wake up in the morning and at night when the stars are out. We found the staff to be very friendly, all spoke English and were happy to help.The breakfast is basic but adequate (coffee instant on the down side). The Indian restaurant situated on the boat did not bother us with strong smells as some other reviewers have mentioned? However, we did find that our room got very hot even in October and the air con was not sufficiently cool enough. We had a couple of occasions when other boats passed along the river and the botel 'rocked' but this was funny and made us laugh, you need to take these things in your stride I guess! We found the botel to be 'quaint and quirky' All in all it was a good place for us to stay as a base to explore The Danube, Old Town and surrounding area. Read more

For the price I paid I was very satisfied. Service in general is not a very warm, smiling or motivated one, but it was decent and fair. I was happy with it. The restaurant and its Indian staff were very good, motivated, attentive and pleasant. The Indian cook was good, involved, motivated, flexibke and very friendly. Rooms are clean and well maintained. […] They are not as comfortable as "normal" hotel rooms though, but hey – you're on a boat! Location is very good, quiet and peaceful. The boat is not rocking and you hardly notice that you're on water. There is practically no on deck service present and the low budget it noticeable. Breakfast could offer a bit more and presence of service at breakfast would help. All in all, I do recommend this hotel – especially its price/performance, and would definitely come again after winter. Great place to stay if you are arriving by river. Just a short walk along the river bank from the port. Easy access to castle and old town for food and drink. Breakfast is adequate but certainly not a feature. Free wifi was appreciated. Very quiet night's sleep. Good value for money,especially if you book on the net.

We stayed at the boat which was alright nothing special. Very nice people working there with free WiFi. Small rooms but that l did already knew befor l booked it . However, you should be aware before you book this hotel is that there is a STRIPCLUB on the boat. Which l didnt know when l booked the rooms, but the club was closed when we where there. I read the reviews of this hotel on Hotels.com and decided to stay there for a night. We arrive late, and asked for a room on second floor (the hotel has only too floors). The stairway to the second floor was completely dark! Then we entered the room. It was small and it looked OK. But then the nightmare began. The roof and wall corners were full of […] spider nets and spiders. It seemed nobody cleaned that area for a while. There was an Indian guy at the reception. He saw the room and offered us another one. we went to the new room which was even worse than the previous one. finally we cleaned the room ourselves (because they refused to clean it, they said there are just nets and no spider is there, and only accepted it when I caught one alive). We slept with fear of spiders and other bugs. The breakfast was very simple. I strongly not recommend this hotel. If you want to feel sleeping on Danube there are other boats which might be more expensive but at least you can sleep. Read more

Staying on a boat on the Danube rather than traditional hotel sounded cool - but the reality is that the boat option is not so good - like being woken up in the night by the wake of a passing boat causing a very loud banging and jarring as the boat is rocked. I had a river side view and cannot fault the hotel except that the shower soap dispenser wasn't checked and we ran out(so did several of our rooms). Apart from one girl on reception the other girls were miserable as sin, its like someone fined them if they smiled so they didn't. The Indian restaurant was good no one complained about the food, yes breakfast […] was a bit limited but we paid very little for the room if you were paying list price then you'd want more. The guys in the restaurant were polite, crap at maths and our bills varied considerably so check your receipt and check the math! The bar downstairs was quite good limited drinks but the barmaid was :) and good for a laugh, well we managed to persuade her to snort a shot of jaegermeister along with the rest of us, top girl! The room was compact but for sleeping in it is great, bed was supportive and May bank holiday weekend weather fine and sunny had no problems with heat. Shower tended to flood the bathroom as the flow is good but the drain not so! Location wise it is easy to walk to the shopping center across the bridge or to the old town and no problems with times of day or night never felt uncomfortable. Overall we all enjoyed our stay (9) of us and some of us would go back say for a Christmas shopping trip, this time with the wives! Read more

Strávili jsme s přítelkyní předvánoční víkend v Bratislavě, jedna noc na botelu. Poloha botelu výborná, vše dostupné pěšky. Sice oddělené postele, ale jinak pokoj se sociálním zařízením, televizí, ledničkou - spokojenost. Ráno snídaně - to nebyl žádný zázrak. Tvrdší pečivo, skromný výběr, nevhodné kombinace obložených mís (broskve s bramborovým salátem […] apod.) Slečna na recepci - otrávená, neochotná, nepříjemná byla při příchodu i u odchodu. Při odchodu ještě nemohla najít doklad, že byl pobyt zaplacen a chtěla po nás peníze. Takže kromě slabší snídaně a slečny recepční vše v pořádku, krásný výhled na most, teplo na pokoji, chechtání racků...romantika. Pour le prix dérisoire payé (Promotion 3ème nuit offerte) le rapport qualité/prix est bon voir très bon. Très bon plan si vous n'êtes pas attaché au design de l'hôtel qui est vieux et très kitch mais l'ensemble est assez propre et le petit déjeuner copieux. L'accueil est un peu froid aux premiers abords mais agréable dans les faits si sollicité. Botelli on varsin hyvällä paikalla ja rauhallinen. Aamupalla olisin kyllä intohimoisena kahvin ystävänä toivonut jotain parempaa kuin murukahvia, mutta menettelihän sekin paremman puutteessa. Hytti vastasi mielestäni hinta-laatu -suhdetta hyvin. Jos tarvitsee vain kunnollisen pedein ja oman wc.n suihkun kera, paattia voi suositella. Ik ben met drie vrienden van mij (net zoals ik, studenten die wonen in een studentenhuis) naar Praag, Bratislava en Wenen gegaan op een 'roadtrip'. Deze is goed bevallen, met uitzondering van ons verblijf op Botel Marina, enkele redenen hiervoor waren: - Kamers vol met spinnen (en geen kleintjes...) - Kamers waren niet schoon - Kamers werden niet onderhouden […] door de schoonmaaksters die de hele dag stonden te roken - Zelfs het linnengoed werd niet vervangen - Alle nooduitgangen zaten potdicht waardoor het stikheet in de kamers was - De airco diende uitsluitend als verwarming - De gehele dag een doordringende geur van Indiaans eten door de hele boot - Het ontbijt was naast karig, ook nog eens vies en er lag voornamelijk worst en kaas die al enkele dagen onbedekt open en bloot lag - GEBRUIK DE MINIBAR NIET!! Na twee cola en een water gedronken te hebben uit de minibar bleek dat deze vijf maanden over datum waren - Eigenaar is een narcistisch stuk verdriet dat met intimiderende gebaren en lichaamstaal volhoudt dat zijn 'krot' vier sterren verdient... We hadden voor drie nachten geboekt maar zijn van doffe ellende na twee alweer weggegaan om extra geld aan een ander hotel uit te geven. Mijn advies? Afzinken die schuit.. Read more

"Flytende hotell midt i Bratislava."
Botel Marina er et perfekt utgangspunkt for å oppleve Bratislava. Fortøyd ved Donaus bredd har hotellet vakre rammer. Sett i forhold til prisen er dette et svært godt alternativ selv om rommene er små og renholdet kunne vært bedre. Hyggelig og hjelpsom betjening og en liten men hyggelig restaurant med god indisk mat trekker også opp.

Altstadt - interessanter Blick auf die Donau - Zimmerservice nicht stattgefunden (3 Tage): Handtücher - Papierkorb usw. Natürlich ist es auf einem Schiff sehr eng - muss man akzeptieren oder woanders buchen. Auf der Donauseite hört man den Lärm der Uferstraße kaum.

Huone ihan ok ja siisti. Sisustuksessa oli tavoiteltu vanhaa laivatunnelmaa aika onnistuneesti. Aamiaisen kylmät ruoat perus hostellitasoa, pienellä vaivalla saisi lämpimistäkin ihan kelvollista. Nälkä lähti ja mikäs oli kahvia ryystäessä samalla kun katseli terassilta Tonavan maisemia.
