we enjoyed our stay, however, I think readers should know that some of the rooms are on the walking street and everyone can look in the window. Staff was very nice but we were surprised at the room. Beautiful view however.

Beautiful rooms, with uber-spectacular views. Located close to the center. Complimentary pick up from the airport and drop-off at the port. Complimentary bottle of wine and fruit on arrival. Price in line with the other luxury hotels in Santorini but much more expensive (10 times) than the typical room to let on the greek isles.

We absolutely loved our stay at Aigialos! We were on our honeymoon and before our arrival we came from Oia, Santorini; we thought for sure beating our experience there was impossible. The staff was all very courteous and willing to do anything to make our stay even better. For example, to catch a ferry to our destination after Santorini we scheduled […] a ferry but the time was not until 5:50 p.m. The hotel let us stay in our room and all of our luggage at no additional charge; impeccable customer service. Also, one thing we found pretty neat, our wake up call was a staff member knocking at our door instead of a phone recording. These are just a few examples, we could go even further to mention the beautiful patio from our room where they set up breakfast for us daily at no additional charge. Not quite a "hotel" in traditional terms, but it definitely lives up to it's moniker by being a luxury traditional settlement. In total, there are 16 suites. Some of which are rooms, some of which give you the feeling you own your own villa. Regardless of which room/suite you're staying in, you will have the most amazing view you've ever seen. Because […] of the size of the hotel, the staff is small, but don't let that scare you off because they have the most personalized attention I've ever seen. The words "amazing" and "incredible" cannot even start to describe our experience here. The staff here is literally first class. The location of the hotel is situated behind several winding streets. A little hard to find at first, but is close to everything in the town of Fira once you get used to the area. The staff was fabulous, very gracious and welcoming. Anything we needed was quickly provided. The hotel is well maintained and recently upgraded however the bed was as hard as the marble floor which might be preferred by some but not me. The hotel was very clean however the steps down to the hotel is the same path the donkeys take to work each day and […] we had to navigate around the donkey poo for several hours until it was cleaned. Wir waren hier im Mai 2012. Die Lage ist abseits vom Trubel, direkt am Kraterrand mit fantastischen Ausblick über die ganze Bucht und den Sonnenuntergang. Das historische Hotel ist wunderschön, geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Personal ist ausnahmslos zuvorkommend, extrem hilfsbereit und freundlich und bietet einen erstklassigen, sehr persönlichen Service. […] Die Lage ist nah zum Ortszentrum (5min zu Fuß), als auch zu allen Sehenswürdigkeiten der Insel (20min zur Nord- bzw. Südspitze der Insel mit dem Roller oder Auto). Für Gehbehinderte ist das Hotel -wie ganz Santorin- allerdings nur bedingt geeignet. Das Fruehstueck wird auf Wunsch aufs Zimmer oder im Aussenbereich bzw. am Ende des Empfangsraums serviert. Das Angebot ist gut (frisch gepresster O-Saft, selbstgemachte Marmelade) und reichhaltig. Wer allerdings eine 5*-Auswahl mit mehreren Sorten Wurst, Käse und Fisch erwartet, wird ein wenig enttäuscht. Ein kleines Minus sind der Mangel an wirklich bequemen Sitzgelegenheiten (nicht jedes Zimmer verfügt über ein Sofa bzw. Sessel). Auch im Aussenbereich gibt es keine Liegen. Der Pool ist eher ein kleines Abkuehlbecken. Während unseres gesamten Aufenthaltes blies jedoch ein fuer die Jahreszeit aussergewoehnlich kalter und starker Wind, dass wir ohnehin nicht auf die Idee gekommen sind zu baden (unabhängig vom Hotel würden wir unbedingt empfehlen mind. eine Jacke und Pullover mit zunehemen). Insgesamt würden wir das Hotel für Romantiker und Ästheten auf jeden Fall empfehlen. Read more
