The hotel is fantastic, the staff are lovely and the location is the best. The one thing is that the meals and drinks are pricey, however, they're pricey anywhere you go. We went to a lovely place at the end of the Marina, a Spanish restaurant called Don Toro, the food and price were perfect.

My wife and I had a great stay at this hotel. The hotel was well located, only a couple of hundred yards from the Marina. Staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. There are some reviews that state that the hotel was a little "tired", we thought this was a bit unfair as we only saw the odd stain on the carpet and not much more. The only negatives we can think of were 1) The room service charge of 10 euros is too high and 2) the balconies are a little on the small side and do not offer much privacy. Service and standards excellent from moment of check in to departure. We were a 6 month pregnant couple with 2 year old toddler. Booked hotel for comfort and it met all expectations from great nights sleep to wonderful days spent on the chill out beds beside the 'beach' pool which our daughter just loved. That particular pool area was frequented mostly […] by coupled with toddlers which still left 2 other pools for people who wanted to be away from the children. The breakfast every morning was delicious, the to order omelettes were perfect and the selection if meats, cheeses, breads and fruits meant there was something for every one. We had dinner 2 nights in fusion and the both nights food and service were excellent, the 3 course meal offers better value and better food than anywhere else in the Marina. Our daughter also enjoyed the indoor and outdoor area at the koala's club and my partner took advantage of the thermal spa with sauna, steam room and relaxation area, the gym is very well equipped and beach is a 5 min walk away. Stayed here for 10 days at the beginning of sept. 2012. I am in a wheelchair and the hotel and grounds were very accessible. The staff were great and very helpful. There was a shower in the room that was somewhat like a wet room and plastic chair to sit on.This, although workable, had no handrails to pull up and balance with and so could have been better. […] The disabled toilets, both in the room and the hotel, were excellent. Our experience at the Lake Resort was on the surface what I expect from a 5star hotel. However on closer inspection there were areas which could be improved upon. Some of the leisure seating around the pool required repair as did some chairs on the terrace.

Only Disappointing thing about the room was no tea making facilities, which is expected in a 5 star hotel , room service would charge 10 Euros for bringing up tea & coffee and that is just the charge not the price of the tea and coffee, very greedy […] ! The shop in the Lobby was closed end of season we were told and although the afternoon tea was still on the room leaflets etc. was not on, as end of season , we insisted that they didn't charge us room service fee for bringing it to us in the Lobby. It was not end of season for us. Restaurants were overpriced , it was like a ghost hotel at night as most guests seeked outside restaurants around the Marina, much better choice and value for money. Fantastic hotel! It's hard to consider staying anywhere else in or around the marina now we’ve stayed here. This has everything we could think of for a first rate relaxing week away. From the little things like having a free pool towel service or genuinely free Wi-Fi everywhere, right up to the impressive reception, restaurant areas and sand bottomed […] swimming pool. The rooms are spotless and are serviced daily. Any request is handled with a smile by the staff and is dealt with really quickly. We even had a DVD player installed in the room within 10 minutes of asking when it rained one day! As the marina had so much to offer in terms of bars and restaurants, we never had an evening meal in the hotel, but breakfast was a good standard (if a little hectic at times). It's a 5 minute walk to the marina itself, and a 15 minute walk to the nearest supermarket should you need anything the hotel can't provide. Lunch by the pool was also excellent, though I wouldn't imagine having too many beers at 6 euros a go even if it is tempting to sign it off on your room and settle up at the end of your stay! If you want to try the beach, it’s a 10 minute walk out the back of the complex. We paid 15 euros for two sunbeds for the full day, but if you didn’t want these then there was plenty of room to just put your towel down on the sand. All in all, this was perfect for us. Wonderful hotel with great facilities. We were there with plenty of other families which gave our little girl plenty of people to play with but did not make for the most peaceful atmosphere for childless guests. I will say though that it didn't seem to bother anyone there being children rampaging around the pool for a couple of hours before they tired […] themselves out. My wife suggested that some quiet music outside would have been nice but being a bookworm, I found the peace and quiet delightful. The breakfast buffet was great although a new toaster may be a worthwhile investment and the food from the pool bar was fine but on the smaller side portion-wise (especially the fruit platter) It has optimum proximity to both the marina and the beach though not the Casino which is over the other side of the marina (about a 20 minute walk) We had a great week where we found the little touches made all the difference. We had a lovely relaxing time at The Lake Resort. It was perfect for recharging our batteries. Breakfast was great with a lot of choice (Hubby loved the omelettes and you can also have your eggs cooked other ways, poached etc). The pool boys are also really friendly and happy to help. Lots of sun beds with pillows, double beds / mattresses to sunbathe […] on all with clean sheets and very comfortable. Pool towels provided by the hotel are also large and clean and you can change for a new one every day. Pools are very clean. Our favourite was the sand bottom pool, it was spacious and we felt it was warmer than the others. The pool bar offers lunchtime snacks but it is rather pricey. Room facilities (deluxe garden view) were excellent with a decent safe, fridge (big enough to store your own drinks), hairdryer, amazing powerful shower and large comfortable beds. We had a great view from the balcony overlooking the pools and view of the ocean in the distance. Hotel is in a superb location, minutes from the Marina and the beach. Lots of lovely restaurants around the Marina with a good atmosphere, perfect for people watching! You need to walk into the centre of town to visit the nearest supermarket to stock up on snacks but it is a pleasant walk. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate in returning in the future. Read more

Good hotel but a lot of what you expedt from 5 star was slightly off. Housekeeping was not good room was cleaned every day but just a quick tidy so bathroom worksurfaces, mirrors etc were not well cleaned. Every 5 star we have stayed in would come around in the evenings and update towels , do turn down etc this happened only once in 10 nights. Other […] issue I would have is they very much market it as a luxury tranquile get away from it all hotel ideal for a quiet holiday but it was full of children! no issue with that but had we known we might have gone somewhere else this was especially an issue at the pool area where beds were reseved all dat but never used so if you came down after lunch you got what weas left. Lovely hotel. Aimed at families but "nice" kids - very little brat behaviour Lovely pool area with man made beach. Though this pool was freezing in high season, would not recommend at other times. This is a very good hotel with spacious public rooms, well designed and comfortable bedrooms and a lovely outdoor area including 3 swimming pools, all fairly shallow. All the staff really are excellent, Reception, Porters, Housekeeping, Restaurant staff , all friendly,polite and quick to help. Its in an good location with a short walk to the Marina […] with all its restaurants etc and to the beach ( but the Hotel no longer has a concession on the beach).The Hotel has an underground car park - useful if you hire a car.Everywhere is spotlessly clean, public and private areas. we had a lovely stay, the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The hotel facilities were great, the pool area and sports facilities were great. The room we had was very comfortable although was not one of the recently furnished rooms was still very stylish and nice to stay in. the only negatives were that they didn't provide tea/coffee making trays […] in the rooms and when we asked for a kettle, cups etc they seemed bemused and wanted to charge room service fee for bringing us two empty cups! We ate in all the restaurants and bars of the hotel and the standard was generally pleasing although we found the mare nostrum restaurant way overpriced and the service slow. Lovely hotel with excellent staff and well located near the harbour. The guest type ranged from families and young couples to the more 'mature couples' - like ourselves. Prices for pool side drinks and food are a little on the expensive side but the service was excellent. The hotel does lack evening entertainment resulting in us going to the harbour […] every evening. While there was a 'kids club' some family groups we spoke to thought more play equipment could have been provided, such as pool side slides. This is our second visit and it is still spot on. We had a panoramic view delux room and it was lovely with a view of the lake, grounds, marina and sea. It was my husbands birthday during our stay and they sent champagne and a cake as a surprise to our room. I am particularly fond of the chill out beds which are canopied king sized beds covered in cushions […] by the pool and fake beach, perfect. Fantastic hotel - couldn't fault it. The staff were extremely courteous and went out of their way to be helpful. The facilities were first class, and although the hotel was reasonably busy, any time we visited the spa we had it to ourselves. The Fusion restaurant was excellent and no more expensive than eating in a restaurant at the marina.
