The hotel was awesome. It was a true treat for a very low price. The down side, uncontrolable, was there were tornados that touched down that knocked the power out. We couldnt check in to our room until 4pm. We didn't like that at all. We got there at 4:30 and the lights went out at 6:00. They only had generators for the casino. That truly sucked. So we didn't get to enjoy the room but it was a great room, great price, and convenient location. We will be going back!

I arrived at the hotel moments after three tornado's struck the area around 6:00 p.m. It was early evening and I hadn't eaten supper. The phones were working; however, we were without electricity until 2:00 a.m. the following morning. I realize that the power outage was not the fault of the hotel; however in the future I would recommend that contingency plans be made to at least have some type of meals or snacks for guest available in case of an emergency. I was very hungry and if I had been a diabetic it could have been life threatening.

It's been four years since my last stay at the Horseshoe and IMO it was better this stay than what I remembered. Being it is a Casino Hotel it does not have some of the stuff a business travel expects, like free breakfast and good coffee in the room, but it is a clean and safe Hotel.

Although the carpeting felt as if it'd been recently shampooed and wasn't quite dry (needed to keep my shoes on), and the sofa could have used a little cleaning attention, we were surprised with all the room's amenities and the view. I appreciated the agent at check-in caring that I was interested in a room high enough for a view of the river and the city at night. Everyone was very courteous and didn't rush us. Just what I needed to get away from my stressful week. We'll stay here again!

First off I was disappointed that this casino didn't even offer any honeymoon specials. My husband & I stayed there for two nights and they couldn't even give us a discount on a meal. It's not like they're hurting for money. Second, I thought the meals were overpriced. We couldn't even afford to eat at our own hotel! They didn't even offer a continental breakfast. At the beginning of our honeymoon, my husband & I stayed at Hampton Inn and the room we had was much bigger/nicer than what the casino offered and we had a suite at the casino! And the disposition of the employees could have been better. Overall I was disappointed at our stay at the Horseshoe and won't be returning anytime soon.

We had a great room! Very large and clean. Beautiful view of the river and city. Right next to the Boardwalk. The only thing I can think of that I did not like was the pillow... There was very good food in the resturaunt (buffet). Not cheap, but worth the price. The hotel price was one of the best values I can remember. Would definitely do it again.

I've stayed at other 4 Star hotels, higher priced but less service. The restaurants were great ( a special thanks to Ebony, our waitress. She was very friendly and a pleasure to talk to) and the shops were wonderful (thanks to Cynthia, which made us feel like home). The room was exceptionally clean and the bed was the best I've slept in for a while, in a hotel. I highly recomend this Hotel to everyone.

The quality of the hotel is outstanding. The cheapest room they offer still makes you feel like you paid top dollar. HUGE bathroom and HUGACIOUS bathtub! Great quality for the rate we received. It is great because the casino is connected to the hotel and they have bars and restaurants all downstairs. So you can park your car in the free parking garage and not have to get in your car to go anywhere. Although they do have an outdoor mall less than a mile away.
