"We just love it..."
A very familiar Hotel with perfect staff and just a wonderful place to come down and relax after a long day or a long trip!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great value for families looking for a "home base""
The room was perfect for our family ( 2 adults and 2 "tweens" ). Needed a good jump point for a couple of days of outdoors activities in GNP and surroundings. Hotel is within reasonable striking distance of west Glacier - figure 45 mins to west gate and 1.75 hours to Logan Pass. Continental breakfast was handy and had something for all. Staff was very […] helpful and friendly. Overall a good value for the price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Watch out, it is not in Whitefish downtown!"
Just Ok for saving the night; pretty basic and it is in the mountain winter station, not in Whitefish downtown (my fault for not checking it in the map).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was the worst stay in a hotel ever. Several of the hotel guests got drunk and arrived back at the hotel near 2 am. Security was called and the guests were told to be quiet around. As soon as security left the noise started again (spewing, knocking on our door, jumping off their beds etc). They finally went to bed at 4am some two hours later. We […] haven't heard yet but we asked the hotel for a full refund. In their information package it states guests who disrupt others will be required to pay for their room. We will wait and see if this happens. Frankily, the group of drunk men should have been asked to leave. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Staff bent over backwards to make this a good stay. We needed to leave by 6:30 am, so they had the breakfast ready for us at: 6:15. Great service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Our stay was great! We wanted to stay close to the zip lines and this was perfect. The breakfast was very good too. We enjoyed the hot tub and appreciated being able to check out and come back after the zip line to take a shower before heading to Glacier National Park. Thank you and we have already recommended this place to others.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for spending time on the mountain"
A bit dated, but clean with very friendly, knowledgeable staff. Great place to crash after spending all day on the mountain. Good breakfast, too.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This place has the friendliest staff that made the stay enjoyable. They even let us know that Glacier had been partially closed due to avalanches, it made planning the day more productive. My only complaint is that it is way up on a hill, a little inconvenient for summer visits (great location for winter skiing though). The price was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small but friendly"
Good place for one night. Best breakfast of all time- tons of options. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was a bit small (hostel-like), but everything was clean and comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Is this the army barracks or what?"
After a long, convoluted drive all the way up a mountain road to a beautiful ski resort, we started getting excited that we might be staying in a really nice place. Just the opposite! This is as plain as it can get, like a high school lockerroom or army barracks, maybe. Dull dull dull. Seemed more like a carpeted warehouse than a hotel. I suspect they […] have this facility empty during certain parts of the year so they figure, "Let's make a few bucks on it by renting it out as lodging!" Whatever. The shower was 2 ft x 2 ft. The bunkbed for the kids was fine except for the lamp 3" above their head. The dressers were actually open shelves like you'd expect to see behind an equipment rental desk. However, the staff were QUITE NICE, and the breakfast was easily the best of our trip! Lots of options, made fresh in the kitchen. We're not at all snobby travelers. We look for the biggest bargains. But for a trip to Glacier Park, we chose a spot way out of the way and were disappointed with the results. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Stay in White Fish Montana"
No Air Conditioning. Fan in room, but still very warm. This is a ski-resort focus. They lack focus on transition of facility to summer visitors. Staff was cordial and friendly. Room was clean and linens were more than available. Long drive in town to have supper. Breakfast was nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed a week here while we explored Glacier and thoroughly enjoyed it. They were so accomodating. Stored our bikes for us and our luggage while we took our friends to the airport. Great breakfast, coffee and tea 24 hrs and use of a refrigerator in the kitchen. Rates were great. We would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We liked and would choose it again when we would travel in this areaGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great For The Price"
We stayed a couple nights here. The hotel is basic but decent and clean. What stood out for me was the great attitude and friendliness of the staff. They were very helpful and really seemed to be anxious to do their best and help us enjoy our stay. Breakfast was good and again we felt very welcome and well taken care of. Travelers note: this is in the […] ski resort several miles up the mountain from Whiefish. Not a lot going on there in mid-summer so you have to drive down to Whitefish for entertainment. great location, friendly staff, excellent breakfastGenuine Expedia guest review
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff more than made up for any shortcomings in the condition or convenience of the hotel. Breakfast was especially well done. It could probably get a bit rowdy in peak season but it was nice and quiet when we were there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hibernation house -- cozy and clean"
I was surprised at how clean and comfortable this affordable lodge was. You are in a ski-in, ski-out location, and there is a complimentary hot breakfast every morning. A real plus was 24/7 access to tea, coffee and cocoa and also the free shuttle to the lift plaza. There is a cozy living room area with magazines, boardgames and a fire. The staff were […] very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I enjoyed the low-key atmosphere and I thought this hotel had lots of value. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The rooms are rather small but pretty clean. The bed was comfy. The only thing I would say is that it's several miles from town so if you go off season like we did you need to eat in town before you go out there or take some food with you because there's not much out there open in off season. Otherwise, it's a nice play to stay, and quiet.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hidden gym in the mountains"
The hotel is "hostel-like" with 1 queen and bunk beds in a simple room with cubbies for storage. Both the front desk folks were extremely nice and helpful. The breakfast was more than decent. computer in the lobby and wireless internet. only suggestion would be an extra towel bar in the bathroom to hang towels. "Hibernation House on Big Mountain good ski locatio"
We enjoyed our one night stay but had to move on to West Glacier. The people were helpful and nice and the location was good for the mountain but to far from the Park for my need. A good place to be away from things for a few days.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I loved staying here and I would love to come back in the winter to go skiing. The room was not extravagant, but it was comfy. I loved sitting on the porch in the morning and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. I would totally recommend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hibernation House -- location, location, location!"
I loved being close to Whitefish, MT, the ski resort and only 45 minutes from Glacier National Park. Hibernation House is a budget-friendly hotel that provides a nice breakfast, good internet access in public spaces, and VERY FRIENDLY staff. I would stay there, again, in a heartbeat.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Comfortable and Homey"
We loved the feeling of being 'at home' at Hibernation House. We could store our refrigerator items in a designated refrig and the staff was very helpful all around. Great family friendly locale.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Get what you pay for"
This hotel was one of the cheaper available in the summer in the greater Glacier area and for very good reason. This hotel was very close to the worst hotel I have ever visited. The rooms were practically a YMCA summer sleep away cabin with lumpy beds (including bunk beds). The curtains didn't close all the way, the door was thin and hardly even latched […] and the room was only moderately clean. In the summer, there are no eateries within 5 miles open after 4pm. Despite being out of the city, the place was pretty noisy an being out of the city, the cell service is of course terrible and the wireless is only accessible in the lobby. This might be a great crash pad for springbreakers on a ski week, but other than that, spend a little more money and stay somewhere else. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"good price for the stay!"
My family and I stayed at Hibernation House the last week of July. There were no other hotel rooms available in Whitefish, but Expedia recommended it, so we took our chances. Very comfortable, friendly, good breakfast, great views. We got in really late unfortunately so we didn't get to use the amenities but everything seemed decent. We drove to Glacier […] the next morning, very convenient to the park even though its about 25 minutes away. Our only "complaint" was the signage since it was about 11pm, the sign pointing to the Big Mountain Road is a little misleading... turn right for the road, or continue around the corner and its up on the hill. Probably our misinterpretation since it was dark and we were tired but it was confusing enough that we didn't take the right turn. I look forward to going back to the hotel next time we go to Glacier! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hibernation House Whitefish"
The staff was exceptional. Very friendly and would go out of their way to help you. Shower was small and bunk beds were noisy, but if you can handle that, this is a great place and a bargain price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hibernation House -"
This no frills hotel actually had lots of extras, great little hot tub, very satisfying continental breakfast and a delightful staff that is really interested in you and your needs. They were down to earth people without any put on attitudes. I will definitely go back!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not the place to stay for Glacier Park"
We booked this hotel based on other customer ratings, but ended up checking out after the first night. This is NOT the place to stay if you want to go to Glacier Park, as it is a 50 minute drive to the park entrance. It's also not convenient to the town of Whitefish for dining, and options at the actual ski village where the hotel is located are very […] limited. The room was very basic, which wouldn't have been bad if it were more convenient. There was also quite a bit of dust and our curtain was half off the rod. I do have to say that the staff was quite friendly and tried to be accommodating, but their options were limited. Stay here to ski, stay here to mountain bike on the ski trails, but do not stay here if you want the conveniences of the town of Whitefish or easy access to Glacier National Park. "Hibernation House in Whitefish, MT"
We didn't realize that the place would be a ski lodge, basically. it was run like summer camp, where we had to ask for things (like the plastic plates/bowls for breakfast), or permission to store stuff in the kitchen's fridge. the rooms had bunk beds, even though we had no kids with us, but also a double, which is sort of small for a restful night of […] vacation. Hibernation House was not rustic, but it was SIMPLE, further evidenced by the wooden cubby holes for storage in the rooms. It would be fine for kids, I think, but we came as a couple w/no kids. Breakfast was continental -- but the inclusion of cold, hard-boiled eggs, apparently allowed them to say "full breakfast" in the description. Not much care was put into breakfast. For example, on our last morning there was a small jug of milk by the tepid coffee, but no cream. it seemed as if someone ran to the store at the last minute for that milk! But even though the rooms were simple, they were clean. Adam at the desk was great -- very helpful! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Decent for the price"
Cozy fireplace area, very friendly and helpful staff. Basic rooms and basic continental breakfast. Quiet while we were there, but very thin walls. No charm, except for fireplace room. Felt like military barracks. That said, it still met all our needs.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice room and location for us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Warm welcome by staff. There are many activities close by (i.e. tree house walk). Great place for family vacation.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Tremendous for a budget traveller"
This motel was cheap, so you cant expect a lot of amenities (like elevators), but the room was very clean and the staff was very friendly. The breakfast was included (continential), and had a wide variety of breads and pastries, all of which were very good. "RUSTIC BUT DELIGHTFUL"
WE ARRIVED ABOUT MIDNIGHT AND WAS CHEERFULLY ASSIGNED A ROOM. THE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST WAS VERY GOOD WITH FRESH FRUIT AND OATMEAL. TOAST AND SWEET ROLLS WERE VERY GOOD, THE PERSONNEL WERE VERY CORDIAL.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hostel type but welcoming hotel."
Hibernation House is on Big Mountain at Whitefish so there is only limited choice of food in the evening, however the 'pub' a short walk into the village is nice and not too expensive. It is more a hostel and this was fine for a family travelling with two teens who had bunk beds. The wi-fi is only in the public area. The cooked breakfast of pancakes […] and bacon was good and there was a selection of usual continental style bread, cereal, muffins, juice and some fruit and yoghurt. The Whitefish area is lovely and in the summer the Alpine slide and chair lift, as well as bike and hiking trails mean there is plenty to do. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Alternative for Glacier Park visitors"
The Hotel is a good alternative to the more expensive, but not better accommodations near Kalispel, if you want to go hiking in the Glacier Park. The staff makes all efforts to serve you well, in particular during the hot breakfast. You might find Huckleberries end of July and beginning of August in the vicinity of the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
it is a very busy time of the year in that part of Montana, the hotel was out of our way & on at the top of a ski hill, great during the winter I bet but for summer vacation not so good. Also the hotel is set up for ski's and ski boots not sandals etcGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for the price"
We are a family of five travelling on a budget and this place fit the bill. Nothing fancy, but a clean, comfortable room for sure. The staff was super friendly and helpful. "Will be returning to the Hibernation House."
Loved this place. It's nothing fancy, but just what we needed. I'll definitely be going back.Genuine Expedia guest review
While some of the people traveling with us, did not make it to the hotel, those of us who did stay, enjoyed it emensely. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were not elaborate, but comfortable with all that we needed. - There are no tubs, but only showers in the rooms, which is sufficient unless you are a soaker.Genuine Expedia guest review
Perfect Once found the hotel was more than i expected .The hellroaring pub up the hill was an excellent place for the evening meal.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"No value here"
The hotel is a disaster. Rooms were musty and stunk of old ski boots and wet clothing. Walls are paper thin so can hear everyone, especially those above tromping around. There is NO value here. One positive note, the staff were very friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
