Petinos Beach Hotel - Mikonos Town

We LOVED this place! The room was extremely clean and large (especially by European standards). We went in September so it wasn't too crowded and I felt it was well worth the price. We looked out right on the water (30 feet) and the bed was very comfortable. We stuffed ourselves daily at the free breakfast, which was a great spread of Greek and non-Greek […] foods, but SO good! We ate at both their restaurants (same menu, so it's actually more like 1 restaurant) but we really enjoyed it. We went to watch the Greek dancing at the restaurant one night, which was one of our favorite things on the trip. We found out there's a free bus transfer to/from the port (look for Petinos Hotel, it's the same owner) The location in Plati Yialis was perfect. 10 minute bus ride to town, but a great beach right there with the option to take water taxi to Paradise Beach, etc. My only complaint about this hotel was that they don't have chairs on the beach for guests so you have to eat lunch at one of the tavernas and then they'll let you use their chairs for free. (go two tavernas down for the best) We also witnessed all the female waitresses having a loud argument at breatfast and felt they were a little rude at times, but felt all the guys at the Greek restaurant were super friendly. Did not know what to expect but got the best of all possibilities. Right on the beach, beautiful surroundings, restaurants, yachts, beautiful people, the whole nine yards......wow. It has a salt water pool, thats right salt water. No problem except dont expect to refresh yourself after swiming int he Agean Sea. OPA!!!

We had a huge room with the pool right outside the balcony. It was much bigger than expected and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is really good and the service overall excellent. It was pretty nice having the beach right outside too! One negative tho, is that neighborhood kids/teens would come use the hotel's pool and were really loud and partying […] every afternoon. I will preface this review that I think the time of year has a lot to do with the quality of your stay in Mykonos. Summer can be hot and crowded. We went in October and so it was perfect, hot enough to swim without the crowds. We booked the executive suite for our honeymoon and the hotel staff wasted no time in making us feel special. Our room was perfect. […] Vichy shower, huge bath, and the bed was so comfy. The hotel itself is clean and the guys at the restaurant are always up for a laugh and you cannot miss their Greek Night. So much fun. The beach is right outside your door and the bus to Mykonos town just outside the door at reception. Best part about traveling outside high season is the sunbeds on the beach are 'free' and you are not having to get there before sunrise to get a good spot. Definitely stay again! Read more

We were picked up from the port and driven to the hotel - this was a good service as it's overwhelming when arriving off the ferry to the crowds and heat. The hotel is right on Platy Gialos beach which is great and there are boats going every hour to the other beaches on Mykonos. The hotel has rooms that overlook the beach front and the hotel restaurant - nice view although it is VERY loud and hard to sleep, especially when they have Greek music and dancing late at night. Our room initially appointed to us smelled strongly of cigarette smoke despite apparently being a non-smoking room. The staff moved us the next day which was good, but had the hotel been full, we would have had to endure a room that felt and smelled dirty. There are many places nearby to rent a car or motor/quad bike. The 'fitness centre' is a joke. It's a small, window-less room in a basement with one dodgy treadmill facing the wall and a bar with one bench and one set of dumbells. It's not appropriate to advertise a fitness centre/gym when this is all that is on offer. The rooms were a little run down,some lights didn't work, water pressure weak in the shower - but overall we enjoyed our stay. Disappointed with hotel as we booked a room for 3 with "seaviews and balcony."Our first room was large but the Balcony turned out to be a terrace which was inches behind the sunbeds of other guests beside the pool. Beyond this was the small pool and then views of the public restaurant attached to the hotel and then through this we could see the sea. […] We asked to be moved to a higher floor and the reception staff were accommodating but the room was smaller and instead of a balcony we had three chairs outside the door which were placed on the stair landing and unfortunately were publicly located on the stairs at the entrance to the hotel. From our room we were facing hotels and shops although we could see the sea from a pretty, small side window in the corner. The bathroom and furnishings were quite basic but the shower was placed over the side of a narrow bath and it was impossible not to have the flimsy curtain stick to your skin and avoid wetting the floor.The room cleaning was excellent with a twice day service. I do not understand the favourable breakfast reviews which I felt poor for a 4star hotel. There were some cereals,hot and cold meats, some fresh fruit and a lot of tinned fruits and jams. Most bakery items did not taste fresh,the orange juice was poor and the staff looked bored. Overall a clean adequate hotel on the corner of a busy beach but more 3 star than 4. Please be careful in booking this hotel as it is quite far from Hora town (40min walking distance). This is located in Platys Galos which is a small beach bay with a couple of hotels and restaurants but that is pretty it... A bus is running during the day but as we were off season, it was only from 8am to 6pm, running every 2 hours, hence this was not […] very convenient to eat and spend the evening in town (taxi cost ~7Eur). This is pretty far from Paradise and Super Paradise beaches as well (45min walking distance). The service at the hotel was average with not a tremendous enthusiasm from receptionists, particularly one... Good stay but will not go back to this hotel. Perfect location right on the beach. Staff friendly, helpful with the right info and advice. Room was spotlessly clean with only the bathroom outdated with shower over a small bath. Room had a balcony and great view over the bay with spectacular sunsets. Hotel perfectly located for the local bus with bus stop 100m from the hotel. I felt the price for […] the superior room was high because the room size was smaller than expected - but one tends to spend most of the time outdoors. Mauvaise impression générale par rapport aux attentes : réservation d'une suite junior devant avoir 2 chambres séparées. Nous avons été mis dans une chambre avec vue mer, beaucoup plus petite et lit d'appoint pour l'enfant. Changement de chambre au bout de la 2ème nuit par ailleurs. Nous avons dû quitter l'hôtel au bout de 2 jours. Nourriture de qualité […] médiocre avec peu de variété.
