Hampton Inn & Suites Williamsburg Historic District - Williamsburg

We are in Williamsburg fairly often to take our son back and forth to William & Mary. We discovered this Hampton Inn & Suites after becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the hotel chain we used to stay with. Many of the hotels are on Richmond Road, which can be pretty noisy at night. This hotel is adjacent to a small residential area just behind Colonial […] Williamsburg, so we find it much quieter and less hectic. It is just as convenient to the colonial area and the college. The rooms were renovated fairly recently, and the lobby and/ breakfast area for complimentary breakfast were renovated very recently. Other than the rubbery scrambled eggs, the breakfast is quite adequate, and the servers are very friendly and helpful. Just what you'd expect from a Hampton Inn. I would make one suggestion when booking. Ask the reservation agent to try and secure a room AWAY from any school groups that might be staying at that date. The kids can be noisy. The front desk staff was happy to make a call to their room and ask them to be quiet.

Overall a great stay. Not pleased with others slamming doors late at night or loud toilets. Breakfast was ok. Clean room and we stayed in a suite which we loved the extra space with kids as well as the pool.

Hotel walls were v ery thin and we could hear everything from the ding of the elevator, the loud ice machine and even the next door neighbors using the restroom. Breakfast was good and so were the pools although the hot tub jets did not work.

Great hotel, great location, excellent value. Our room was very clean and fresh. Hotel staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. My only complaint was the water pressure in the shower was not so great. The breakfast was good except for the eggs. All in all great hotel and we would stay here again.

When we arrived at the hotel didn't expect to see the Hotel Lobby as a construction site plus the smell was bad. No mention that a renovation of the hotel was taking when I booed the hotel, otherwise I would not have booed the room.

We came in for a very large soccer tournament from Connecticut and I cannot tell you how pleasantly surprised we were with the size of the rooms. My husband said it was the most comfortable bed he has slept in, even more than ours at home! The continental breakfast was a very surprising and delicious bonus. Hotel was great. clean and comfortable despite the renovation going on. Rooms were clean, good breakfast. Location was perfect for visiting all the historic sites in and around Williamsburg. Only complaint was the extra firm mattresses, but that's a personal preference. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

great service. decent breakfast. the roomwas comfortable witha good dea of room for a family of five. comfortable beds. fairly quiet. my only complaint was the stench in the hallway. it may have just been from the pool, but it smelled very strongly of mold or mildew from water damage all through the first floor hall. really foul.

The hotel was very nice and very close to Old Colonial Williamsburg. The people at the check in desk were very nice and gave us a wonderful recommendation for dinner (Second Street Bistro) just a couple blocks from the hotel. I would stay here again if I'm ever in the area.

Evening management quickly accomodated, served, and moved us and our luggage to another room when we found out and reported the heater/AC in the room originally assigned to us did not work. Everything is fine, I'm pretty comfortable with everything I saw in the hotel. However I do have suggestions that they should provide some durable microwaveable dishware either in the rooms or the front desk. They have microwaves in the rooms, but no dishware at all. Even when we requested from the front desk, they said the only things they have was […] foam plates which are not a good idea to put in the microwaves. The other thing is that I brought my towels to the room and hang separately from the hotel towels. I guess since they were white just like the hotel ones, the staff took them and mixed with hotel towels in the same pile. Fortunately I found out before they took all away. In order not to loose my own towels I decided not to have clean service in the rest of my stay. The funny part is that they have the "reuse towels on the hanger and dirty ones on the floor" policy for the good of the environment, so since my towels were on the hanger they were not even suppose to take away the first place. Anyway, those are not big deals so I'm still fine to recommend this hotel to others, especially as their breakfasts were pretty good! Read more

A very friendly and helpful kitchen staff was in charge of the large breakfast area and the food was the typical menu. The hotel staff was wonderful giving us tips on restaurants, etc. and handling a few problems we had. Our room was very nice. We had a heater/AC that was loud and kept us awake. It probably just needed more regular maintenance. After […] 2 nights we asked them to fix it. When we returned to the room that night the unit had a nice low hum, but it was 83 degrees in the room. We tried getting the temperature down but nothing worked, and even the hotel staff couldn't fix it. They allowed us to move to another room at 12:30 that night. This is probably not a typical problem in every room, but it was ours and the staff worked with us solving the problem. We didn't realize there were blackout curtains behind the sheers so we slept for 2 nights with outside lights shining in the room, though the 2nd night we draped the extra blanket over the window. We asked about the curtains not closing and was then told about the blackout curtains out of sight behind the sheers and drapes. Read more
