Unusual experience as our 8 month old became ill and had to be hospitalized. Good things first. 1. Very clean facility and nice firm beds. 2. liked breakfast buffet with subtle changes daily 3. nice pools with adequate chairs 4. pretty good location but had to walk 20-25 min to the beach due to the location of our superior room Bad things 1. the front […] desk pretty much speaks NO english and the guest services desk provides no additional info. They cannot recommend restaurants and when our daughter was ill they made NO effort to get us an early flight. The front desk had no internet access and said their computers only communicate with the main offices in Bangkok. We felt a bit panicked when our daughter became ill and they recommended a local doctor who recommended the wrong medications. Overall, a nice resort whose limitations lie in it's service communication deficit. Once I asked for two extra towels as they only supplied 2 and we had two and we had three people in the room. The response was " you are leaving tomorrow and already have your two towels.When I asked her for her name she would not give it to me. Overall a resort with almost all European visitors. It is a bit of a 15-23 minute walk to the beach and it seemed like a solid choice with clean rooms, good breakfast but really disappointing concierge service whereby the minimal amount English spoken is a huge liability especially if there is any emergency. We had a wonderful stay at Duangjitt, with only one minor incident. The housekeeper broke my electric neck trimmer (very expensive) then denied even cleaning the room that day. (because the money gets taken from their pay). Matee the General Manager took care of it after 5 days of trying to come to a resolution (front desk girls are VERY rude by the […] way) and we were very satisfied. Matee is a GREAT man, and you should ask for him personally when you check in. He will take care of you. Lovely resort with fantastic swimming pools. Very child freindly. Friendly staff. Would highly recommend. Patong itself is a little too crazy and commercialised but the resort is big enough to feel like you're in a lovely part of Phuket without being caught up in all the noise and bustle outside.

In a word our Hotel experience was excellent. We both read multiple reviews on the Duangjitt Resort and for the most part they were accurate. We upgraded our room to a Deluxe Garden Room, we were very happy with this as they are situated near reception and only a short walk of about 200 meters to the markets. As far as location and distance goes the […] resort is huge and I can understand if you were located in one of the outer rooms you my get sick of walking. However having said this the size of the resort adds to the appeal, there is so much room you need not see the same people over and over and unless you are elderly or immobile the walking is not excessive and there are club cars to deliver you to and from your room. The resort is far enough from town that the noise wont disturb you but it is close enough to easily walk everywhere you go. Drinks are quiet cheap in comparison to Australian Hotel prices. A cocktail from the swim up bar was approx $6 or $7 with a beer being about $3. We found even after 10 days of swimming and drinking our hotel bill was still only $250 AUD, not bad considering we never wanted for anything. The staff were wonderful, some do struggle with English however you are travelling to a foreign country so that is expected. Despite this all of the staff went out of their way to help however they could and no request went unfulfilled. This resort is beautiful, we found it hard to leave the hotel and go out for activities. 3 swimming pools, the biggest one is huge with a waterfall. My girlfriend got a message under the waterfall. 3 adults stayed from 21st Dec 12 to 30th Dec 12. We had a great time and would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Just a short 5 minute (max) walk to the beach and 10 mins from Bangla Road. A perfect mix of a lovely quiet hotel yet walking distance to everything needed.

We stayed in a garden view room for 13 nights and had a wonderful time. The rooms was very clean and spacious and the staff were welcoming and friendly at all times. Our family (children 12 and 15yrs) stayed at Duangjitt Resort in September 2012. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The rooms were lovely except that the beds were so hard they were uncomfortable. The tiles in the shower could have been a little cleaner. There was black mold in between them. The internet in the rooms (that you have to pay for) was terrible. It was very slow and not worth paying money for. Absolutely LOVED it. This place is amazing. This is my third time to Thailand and this is by far the best place I have stayed at. The pool is beyond our expectations. The resort is massive! We stayed in the Delux Garden room. The room was quiet and pleasently presented and clean. The resort is at the southern end of Patong beach, just far enough away from the noise and traffic, but close enough to walk to down town patong. 5 Min walk from Paton shopping village, 15-20 min walk to Banglar Road or 200B took took ride. […] The pools were great, with a great pool bar in the main pool. The prices for cocktails were ok, not overly cheap for Thailand Prices but still a lot less than Aussie prices in Sydney. On one occasion we caught a fish when deep sea fishing and brought it back to the resort. The resort chef was more than happy to cook it up for us. The reception staff are very efficient and speak fluent English which was a nice change for Phuket. I will be definitely coming back to stay. Oh one more thing, compared to other resorts that i have stayed at in Phuket, this resort seemed to attract an international client base, not just Aussies. In the past i have stayed in the Merlin Patong and Merlin Beach, which was full of Aussies. Being Aussie myself i want to go on holidays to experience other cultures, not be stuck in a hotel full of people from home, so this was a nice change. We met people from Russia, Sweeden, Denmark, India etc and in two weeks i think we only saw one or two more groups of Aussies. Read more

The location is perfect, 5 mins to the beach, quite amounts of restaurants near by; facility is great with 3 beautiful swimming pools. The service was certainly not matching the hardware. Breakfast carried same limited and boring food everyday; reception ladies somehow hold attitudes. As soon as we arrived, the door lock had no battery, ceiling fan […] out of service, same as the video player. We had to change room 3 times during 9 days holiday due to facility problems. Every time fixed the hardware, we had to pay tips or get unfriendly looks... by talked to some of the customers stayed at the same hotel, somehow quite a few of them had facility problems to be fixed, certainly tips were expected… We took off the bed cover on the 1st night, it never been put back on since; however, during the check-out, we required to pay for the bed cover due to it was missing from the room...after a long explanation and almost open our entire luggage for the hotel staff to go though, eventually hotel ‘did us a favor’ and drop off the cost. This hotel is just far enough away, 5 minute walk. from the lively strip which is Patong Beach and about 15min walk from the main shopping centre Jungceylon to give the sense of escape from all things noisy to your own little paradise. The rooms were average at best but were very spacious and clean. What really made up for it though, was the pool. It is GIGANTIC and has a waterfall as well as a hidden Jacuzzi area that is surrounded by palm trees and makes you feel like its a lagoon :) The long drive way means that you don't get any noise from the street which is a huge plus because […] Patong Beach is where the crowd will be in the late hours. a short walk from the beach and street markets but also a walkable distance to a very large shopping mall called Jungceylon. It has cheese popcorn at the cinemas! it is also a short walk to the Hard Rock cafe. The staff were very friendly and tried their best to accommodate me when i, unfortunately, sprained my ankle on the last day of the trip. If you get the standard room, it'll be standard. decent bed, lovely tiled floor and a balcony overlooking the lovely pool with a waterfall. If you plan on staying here, because it IS amazing value, you should consider getting the deluxe rooms instead of the lowest priced ones because my only complaint for this hotel is that the decoration for the rooms could've been better and i just really wanted a bathtub in my room :P The breakfast buffet is pretty good for western breakfast and also provides noodle soup, cereal, sliced cheese (great with the bacon!) They are also building an auditorium for the end of next year and have gorgeous gardens that are looked after with care. I saw hotel staff plucking the yellow leaves from trees!! Read more
