For the price, it was OK. We had a lot of difficulty finding a place to park. The microwave was old and very small. The dining facility was over priced for breakfast buffet. Had two children with me and did not want to pay $9.00 each for what they would eat. Went to McDonalds for 25% of the cost.

The toilet would not stop running, which made it hard to sleep. The air conditioner was very dirty and had black patches growing on it. The drawer in the kitchen area was broken. There was feces in the toilet when we first arrived. It has a great location and nice beach, but it was too dirty in the room for me to enjoy my stay. They need to update their rooms and give them a good cleaning

the hotel is good overall (see the ranking), especially the location, we stayed on 5th floor the first night, we all love the view from our deck. but second night we moved to 1st floor, the view became only the swimming pool and several palm trees. But we had to move because the toilet doesn't flash anymore, Water came out (yuk..), without second night's experience, I will give it 5 star.

A colleague of mine and I stayed at the Springmaid for one night for a business trip. We checked into the hotel at around 9pm. The grounds of the hotel are relatively large, so the check in desk was in a building across the street and down the road from our room. After we checked in, we threw our things on our bed, and went out to see some of the local sights. We returned to our room around midnight, and went out on the balcony to chat. Around 1am, we began preparing for bed. My colleague used the toiletry area first, so by the time it was my turn, it was about 1:20. I finished washing up, but when I went to get into my bed it was SOAKING wet! We called down to the front desk and the person that answered the phone said that they would switch our rooms, but that we would have to come and get the room key because "it was just him and the security guards". My colleague and I are both females under the age of 28 and were already in our pajamas. The fact that they would ask us to walk down the road in the middle of the night to pick up a new room key because their establishment had messed up was ludicrous. We informed the man that they would just have to send up a security guard with a new key because we were not walking out there. The next morning when we asked to speak to a manager, we were turned down. The girl at the front desk informed us that there had been a leak in the unit directly above us but that it hadn't occured to them that the leak would effect our unit. We were told a manager would call us at a later time. That never happened. No one called us, we weren't given a partial credit for the huge inconvenience, nothing. I have never been so disappointed in a hotel experience in my life and I will never again give them my business.

We had high expectations for this hotel. However, we were sorely disappointed. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived. When we were finally able to get into our room, it lacked alot to be desired as far as cleanliness. We discovered several large ketchup stains in various areas of the room and there were cob webs in a couple of places. The refrigerator was rust covered on the outside and our in-room safe malfunctioned three times locking our car keys inside. When we called for maintenance to come and repair the safe, our average wait time before they showed up was over an hour. We called for extra towels and wash clothes a couple of times and it took approx. two hours each time before we received them. All in all, our stay wasn't pleasant and we will never stay there again.

The hotel was a little old, but it was renovated and the rooms were nice. It has a nice history behind it. It would be nice to have an outdoor pool at both buildings, but the pools were clean and well-maintained. The beach was clean, and the pier was great. The cafe on the pier had good food for the price. The biggest issue we had was with the beds. The mattresses felt like you were sleeping on the floor! Also the maid came a little too early in the morning, but she was willing to come back later. Overall we liked the resort and would return again.

I loved the convenience of the location. On the South end, easy in and out to Kings Hwy ( resturants and such ). The room was comfortable and clean. We arrived late, the refrigerator in the room was not working, called the front desk first thing following morning - they said maintenance would right up - 3 Hours later they exchange the refrigerator-mainteance apologized for the condition of it, explained it had been in storage and that housekeeping would be in shortly to clean it up -- They never came- and the inside of the doors were rusted -- Didn't look very nice - but did work. They were several very unruly children in the pool / lazy river area. Although it should be the parents responsibility to correct bad behavior --it they don't -- I believe Hotel Security should get involved when it's to the point of All lazy river tubes in pool -- none in the lazy river and 3 young boys have 4 tubes each stacked on their bodies and others would liked to have used the lazy river.

Needs a little TLC as far as the bathroom goes, a little moldy and the drain didn't work well. The walls are paper thin and we could hear everything the people in the next room were saying and could hear giggling and beds squeaking above us. We could also hear people peeing as if they were in our room. I actually woke up to make sure no one was in our room!! The location was very nice, a little away from the excitement, which was fine w/me. The pier was great for my teenage son that loves to fish. The beach was pretty and clean. The lazy river at the hotel was a little gross, (cloudy) and not as big as I thought, maybe because there were so many people in it. On a more positive side, the staff was wonderful! Very, Very pleasant and helpful. They upgraded my room even though I did not ask. All in all a nice hotel.
