The room was very clean upon arrival. The in-room temperature control (heating & cooling) was effective and worked very well as needed. Bathroom had ample counter space. My only complaint about the room would be the fact that the toilet didn't have a covered lid. Otherwise, my boyfriend and I had a very comfortable stay. even though the place was full with displaced people from the storm Sandy it was clean the breakfast area was always kept up and when the coffee machine didn't work in our room we received one right asay

I only stayed there for one night for wedding, but I must say it was very good hotel helpful staff, clean room, clean bathroom the breakfast was good too..The only problem I had was finding parking after I came from the wedding other than it was A+ hotel.

I had a good stay...came down to visit some friends and family. I had a great clean room with a kings size bed and a couch. But the ONLY complaint was that I was able to here everything going on outside of my room and the free breakfast was weak.... but overall I give this hotel an A-

Had a nice stay. The flat screen tv was nice and the room was set up nicely. The bathroom fan ran all night and I could not seem to shut it down so that was the only con but I just shut the bathroom door. Very clean.

Very convienient to airport. Room was clean and I found the bed to comfortable. Big lobby with plenty of seating in the dining area. Great stay but service could have been better. Staff was clueless on what was available in the hotel. Had a baby staying, there was no high chairs available for breakfast at the dining room. Also asked front desk if there was a pool on site, i was told there was'nt one. Later on found out there was a pool and that you had to ask for the high chairs […] by family members that stayed later. Everything about this La Quinta Inn was pretty good, make that way above average. The "Business Traveler" properties are all pretty much the same, it’s the staff that makes the difference. This particular property had the most accommodating and gracious collection of staff members I ever recall seeing at such a facility. Example: Being from the west, […] we do not have a snack product called “Cheese Doodles.” I bought a bag from the vending machine and found I really liked them. Over the next two days, I bought a few more, but on the day before I checked out, I found there were no Cheese Doodles to be had anywhere on the property. I teasingly “complained,” to the Front Desk ladies about the Doodles crises. They profusely apologized, but told me the vending machines were run by an outside company and there was nothing they could do about it other than report the Doodles outage. On check out, they, together with the Manager presented me with a family sized bag of Cheese Doodles they had purchased from a grocery store. Now that’s class, and a La Quinta I will always remember and choose whenever my travels take me to Long Island. Read more

The location was right down the street from the airport and the bathroom decore was really nice. This was about the only good things about this hotel. Right of the bat at check in the guy didn't seem to care if I was there. His attire of jeans and a hotel shirt rolled up to his elbows didn't look very professional, but that's not really important. The […] room itself was dirty. There was mold in the corners, water marks and unfinished plaster on the ceiling, a hug spider web with spider from the lamp to the wall, waterbottle cap on the floor, hair on the tub. There was no soap,conditioner or lotion in the room, only a bottle of shampoo. I went down to the front desk to ask for soap and the guy looked behind his desk and went to the back room. He couldn't find any so he gave his keys to another fellow and told him to go into another room down the hall and take the soap from that room. As for the noise level...the walls/floor/ceilings are very very thin. If you don't want to hear the people walking in the room above you then request a room on the top floor. Also a room far away from the elevator. I would choose this room for only one reason and that would be the location. Conveniently located directly across the street from the Islip airport, very clean and inexpensive. Great for a last-minute stay if you're getting in on a late flight. Courteous staff and complimentary breakfast.

What a nice, clean hotel! We were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the hotel, considering it was pet-friendly. Service was good - although we could have used a few more towels. Would stay there again, and would recommend it to other (responsible) pet owners.

Stayed for 3 nights. Great price for the quality of hotel, location by airport, train and nearby expressways and inludes a free continental breakfast. Ideal setup as a home base hotel for touring attractions (NYC, Fire Island, Wineries, etc).
