The immediate environment doesn't bode well (dump over road from window; rather down-at-heel neighborhood) but the hotel proved really good value for money. Room was a good size and bathroom too. Breakfast a bit limited and room could be crowded but you got a basic continental breakfast for free to start the day. Staff were very helpful and courteous. A pretty easy link from JFK Airport via firstly the SkyTrain and then the NY Subway. Direct to Queens Plaza and a short walk from there. Into town was easy -literally at the end of the road from Queensborough Plaza Station and about four stops to Times Square. Far cheaper than being right in the middle of town and, in any case a one week travelcard for subway and bus is only $25 and that repays itself easily. Convenient, good value and we'd stay there again.

The neighborhood is a bit scary at first but we walked every day and every night to the sub station which is 1/2 block from there nothing bad ever happened to us. So for the price, hotel and proximity to the sub is well worth to stay in this hotel

We read the reviews before booking!! The hotel and our stay were wonderful, but we didn't expect 5-star service at a 2-star hotel either! We were looking for price, convenience and safety and we found all three at this hotel! Yes, the hotel does overlook a dump and the part of town does look run-down, but so do most of the old neighborhoods in NYC. The hotel looked almost new though. We weren't there to stay in the hotel all day anyway. We slept there then were off to see the city sights. We read in the reviews that the hotel had limited seating for breakfast, so we already expected to take it back to the room--no big deal: boiled eggs, waffles, fruit, muffins, doughnuts, coffee, tea, juice, toast, croissants, and cereal were among some of the choices for us to eat. (good breakfast!) Go around 8-8:30 there was still a lot to choose from. Free copy of newspapers each day. Also there's a diner one subway stop from the Queensboro Plaza, which is literally one block from the hotel. I think they had late hours. Take the 7 sub right into Grand Central, 5th Avenue or to Times Square in less than 15 minutes! My husband and I felt completely safe in and around the hotel, even when we arrived back at the hotel around 1:30 am one morning. We drove, and were aware of the limited parking. Luckily, we arrived mid-afternoon on a Sunday and could park on the street for our stay--no charge. Next time we go to NYC we will definitely go to this hotel. The beds were comfortable--lots of pillows. The only thing was our air had been turned off when we were out during the day??? Maybe they were trying to save energy. That's fine if it helps keep the rates down. Nevertheless, I would highly recommend this hotel for a great price and great service compared to hotels in Manhattan--save the money for shopping! Read the reviews. That will give you a good opinion of the hotel before you book. We already knew about the dump, limited breakfast seating and parking, so it wasn't a surprise and noth

There is breakfast every morning and free wireless. The staff are very friendly and the area is quite safe. If you over look the dump yard on the backside of the hotel. You are good to go. Comfort Inn at Long Island City is reasonably priced (by New York standards) and is just one block away from Queensboro Plaza, which can get you to Times Square and Grand Central Plaza in about ten minutes. Also, the Queens Plaza station is just a few blocks away, which gives you easy access to JFK Airport through the E train, which connects with the Airtrain at Jamaica. The hotel isn't the greatest, but the rooms are clean, and the free breakfast is a real treat. I highly recommend Comfort Inn at Long Island City for those of you who are on a budget but who want easy access to Manhattan and JFK.

It is so close to Manhattan that a taxi ride could about ten to twenty dollars. The neighbourhood is not to bad because it is just by the beginning of Jackson avenue coming from Manhattan. Train ride to Manhattan is less than ten mins. The hotel is clean, the room is good value for money and it comes with a complimentary breakfast. There was not much to offer but good enough for the value and at least you get to have breakfast at no extra cost. I was quite impressed with the room, wireless, clean sheets and modern clean bathroom. The hotel comes highly recommended and i would definitely go back in the near future.

We had a room on the first floor which is half underground which is a disappointment, but the room was nice. I would describe the hotel as a mini, Comfort Inn. Each hall had rooms down the left side of a hallway and the exterior wall on the right side of the hallway. The bedroom we had had a king-size bed, a small, freestanding closet, desk, tv armoir and 2 endtables and just enough room to get around the bed. They gave you plenty of pillows and the bed was very comfortable. The heat/air worked great, the window actually opened if you wanted outside air and the bathroom was modern and a decent size. Probably the only thing that could have been a little better was the shower water pressure- temperature was fine. I know the view from the window is of a scrap yard but, who cares. It was quiet and because it wasn't a residential area, we had no trouble with parking our car right next to the hotel. Look at a map to find the best way to the hotel because the streets are all single directional. The breakfast was adequate, there are only 4 tables so get there early or you may need to take your food to your room. The location is perfect for the City, Long Island, New Jersey, and Westchester visits. The hotel staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The price was amazing. Don't miss this opportunity.
