Papakea was great, loved the pool and hot tub. Basic unit, view was limited, not quite oceanfront as advertised, but a nice view if you are on the lanai. Murphy bed was like sleeping on a hide a bed.

"Beach Front One Night Escape"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
Went to Maui for a night from Oahu with my friend. I booked the cheapest room, a studio mountain view room because we didn't intend on spending much time at the hotel. We were given a 2nd floor ocean view room with our own lanai in a very clean studio with a kitchen and bathroom that were more than adequate. We actually chose to spend time on the private beach and then the lawn chairs by the pool just enjoying the ocean front. We walked to get dinner later, the hotel is located by a whole strip of shops but we walked a few minutes further down the road where there were more restaurants and shops and had a great dinner. Would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again!
"Excellent for a short stay"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
I stayed for about 36 hours before my flight home and was pleasantly surprised by this old place. Although the building is showing its age in places, the staff keep it very clean and the grounds, especially, are meticulously cared for. The pool is nice, and the view of the harbor is lovely. Every worker I met was sweet and accommodating. Even the cab driver who picked me up remarked, "They're always so nice there." If you like icy-cool air conditioning, look elsewhere, but otherwise I would recommend this place. Whole Foods is a few blocks away and has a great take-out bar. I had some extra time and walked to a nice park and, in the opposite direction, down past the docks and the wastewater treatment plant to the wildlife refuge. Not a scenic walk, to be sure, but suddenly there you are on a gorgeous stretch of beach, completely deserted when I was there.

Brimming with hotels, villas, and shops, Kapalua is on the northern end of west Maui’s resort strip. The resort area is also known for its golf courses, which have hosted golf legends such as Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh. A few golf course holes afford views of neighboring Molokai and Lanai islands. Humuhumunukunukuapuaa, Hawaii’s state fish, swim in the waters of Kapalua Beach.

Just had an outstanding time. Megan Montoya checked us in at the front desk and she was excellent. A super rep for the Ritz. Great personality, knowledgeable and courteous. She is a keeper !! Overall the interior of the hotel looks great - as always. The interior carpets in the hellways are showing normal wear and tear, but they have a lot of traffic. […] Other than that, looks nice. All the hotel staff,r to include room service, cleaning, valet and servers in the restaurants were excellent. They have a grert recuitment and training program. Thanks again. Read more

"A beautiful hotel w/ outstanding customer service"
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ritz Carlton Kapalua. It was everything you would expect from a 5-star hotel. It is located near a gorgeous beach that felt very private. It is also within walking distance of a general store, and extensive walking paths through an abandoned and overgrown golf course. The nightly live music in the lounge exceeded […] our expectations. Guests also receive a discounted resort price at the Kapalua Plantation and Bay Courses. Read more
"LOVE THE RITZ IN MAUI"
The only place i would consider staying in Maui. Perfect location, quiet and the only place i would consider home away from home.We simply love the Ritz in Maui. Can't waiit to come back!!!!!
"luxury"
The Ritz is wonderful in every way. From the wonderful service, Beautiful grounds, and a gorgeous suite with ocean view. We are ready to go back! Very relaxing with wonderful Food and restaurants. Highly recommend. Five Stars.
"Beautiful hotel"
The hotel and property of the hotel is very beautiful! The beaches near by are very beautiful and a great walking trail! The negatives are that there is nothing going on in this resort on weekdays, the hotel grounds are very neglected especially the tennis courts! The tennis courts look like alley streets so its very disappointing to pay a resort fee […] and have the resort be in such a bad condition. When we checked in we were given a room with a view of the golf course field and pine trees...didn't even feel like we were in Hawaii. We asked to be moved to face the pool and the receptionist Meagan and Stephanie lied that the rooms were sold out and didn't want to accommodate us. It was our honeymoon and we wanted to have a nice experience and the bad guest services really ruined our night and the vibe of the stay. We were so disappointed on how we were being treated on this vacation we worked hard to take that we tried to cancel the rooms and go back to the Hyatt Regency where we were treated like we are welcome to the hotel. I called hotels.com to cancel our reservation and the hotels.com agent called the hotel to see what they can do and wow what a surprise they did have a room by the pool! So after over three hours of our time wasted we moved to the room we originally wanted. So don't expect to get great treatment at this hotel because you might get very disappointed like us. Read more

"Relaxing resort that has everything"
Great pool and beach. Snorkeling best at Kapalua Bay a mile walk. The bay also has a nice restaurant, Merriman's. Friendly staff and beautiful surroundings with hiking trails, golf courses, and good restaurants. Not inexpensive, but worth it.
"Fabulous Hotel"
This hotel deserves a 5++++Star rating. Our vacation at the Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua was absolutely perfect. I was there 12 years ago and was extremely happy with the hotel. This exceeded our expectations. The property is very well maintained and the hotel was completely renovated. Our room was upgraded to a residential suite and was extraordinary. The […] personnel in the hotel were excellent, and the Concierge people were exemplary. They also had a shuttle service at this hotel that was like your personal driving service to all the restaurants and beaches in Kapalua. As you see I cannot say enough about our experience. Read more
"Great Honeymoon Spot"
My wife and I stayed at the Ritz on October 17th-23rd 2009. It should be stated straight off that both her and I are in our early 20's and were looking for a quiet place to spend our honeymoon. That said, I am extremely pleased with our decision to stay at the Ritz, and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a similar experience. Likes: 1) […] I am sure it has been stated in dozens of reviews, but the whole area is gorgeous. 2) The rooms are incredible. We got a residential ocean view suite. I have never stayed in a room like it. Overall, the room is basically set up for comfort. And this goal is achieved with great success. It felt like home immediately, which is something I feel like no room layout or pictures of the rooms can really fully describe. 3) The staff was wonderful. They were extremely kind and helpful (whether or not they are currently earning your money for themselves or the hotel. This is an important thing to distinguish). Dislikes: 1) The view from the room. "Ocean view" pretty much means "you will be able to see the ocean one way or another.” The resort is basically shaped like a capital, block letter "U". The two prongs of the "U" face the ocean, and the lobby is the very center of the bottom part of the "U" with the pool in the middle of the whole thing. As you can imagine, if you are not located on the end of one of the two prongs, then you are not going to have a full view of the ocean (those are the "ocean front suites"). Read more
"SOMETHING MISSING IN PARADISE"
There's something missing at this Ritz. For one, if the Hotel sepnt as much money on the renovation as they claim they should call the police because they got robbed! We stayed at this hotel two years ago and it needed a renovation. However, the fact that they removed a beautiful fountain to install a few poolside cabana's is not what you would expect […] from the Ritz. In addition, the weather in July although sunny included a breeze that was outright cold. When we asked, the staff said that it was always like this in July. (Note to staff: It wasn't like that on the other side of the island,) I would go back to Maui again in a flash, I just wouldn't stay at the Ritz. Read more
"Top of the Line Hotel"
We stayed in a beautiful suite overlooking the pool and beach. We ate breakfast on the upper deck overlooking the beach and pool. It was magnificent.

"Preis- Leistung stimmt nicht"
Lage sehr schoen.
