This reasonably priced hotel has an excellent location within steps of the Cathedral and Gothic Quarter and with easy walks to La Rambla and to the Picasso Museum. The rooms are furnished in a modern style which we liked and are of adequate size. We were there for three nights, Thursday through Saturday, in April in a room one flight up overlooking […] a side street. The room was very quiet except for some minor noise on Saturday night. The front desk staff, especially Oriol, Soraya, Pedro, and Natalia, were very friendly and helpful with directions, suggestions, and flight confirmation issues. A friend and I were there for three nights in March, and overall this hotel was a total find. If you get a room facing the side street, it's really quiet, and you are steps away from the Cathedral in the old town. So it's a great spot for exploring that district. Our only complaint we had about the room was the temperature, we found it quite warm and when we asked about it were told that the manager had all the rooms set to heating because of the time of year, and only the manager could change it. They said they would ask about changing it. This was in the morning, and when we returned in the early evening nothing had been done. We had to go back and ask again to get the desk staff to ask the manager's permission to change our setting. That whole process was not satisfactory (a) why can we control the heating/air in our room ourself, and (b) why did we have to follow up to get things sorted the way we want? The hotel itself is great. We just had a 'bad' room ...with some additional issues. Apparaently our mistake for not reading reviews ahead of time re: "do NOT get inside room". A person could have been whispering in their couryard, but sounded like a party with the room's windows open. Issues with room. Because of noise outside (lots of w/e parties) […] we put A/C on more than would have. 2 vents - 1 blowing directly on 1 side of bed, other vent didn't work at all. Could not close 1 window & needed desk help to "giggle with it" to get it to close (happened with 2 different windows). Room safe directions - 1st time ever needed help deciphering... "It happens often". was the reply. Everything was handled immediately- i.e. Great service, just issues the way the room was built, that shouldn't have come up at all. Had trouble getting WiFi access in room. When talked to front desk about it. "We won't charge you". Problem was... didn't realize there was a charge for WiFi to start. But, with all that said. The hotel itself was great & the location couldn't be beat. Would just make sure did NOT have room facing courtyard & now we know how to deal with idiot-syncracies of room. Read more

Very nice front desk staff and clean, comfy hotel. The city center area in Barcelona can be pricey and its difficult to find a nice hotel for a good price. But I think we got lucky. Furnishings are modern basic, but nice. And the free internet in the lobby doesn't hurt. I would go back.

The hotel is down a side street off a main square. It was difficult for our group who needed a bus to get our luggage to the hotel. The bus put us off about 1/8 mile away and we had to drag suitcases through the square in order to reach the hotel. Getting face towels for the room was difficult.

The taxi dropped us in the alley(not dodgey, with shops) behind the hotel...and we walked about 25 steps to the corner and there was the hotel entrance. The reason for the strange drop off is because of the great location of the hotel. Location is PERFECT for exploring the town by foot. Close to many great areas including La Ramblas, AND the hotel was very quiet at night. Very good service, AC was great (and needed, we went in August!). Staff are friendly and eager to help. The roof top pool was the perfect place to end the day!

Very good location handy to shopping, hop on hop off buses, restaurants. The hotel has no charactor as it is modern in appearance unlike surrounding hotels. Breakfast costs 18.50 euro so not worth it. There are plenty of bakeries close by. The staff are very pleasant and helpful plusthere are two free walking tours the hotel supplies.

Our rating of the hotel I feel is objective. We had breakfast once, which was poor in quality and presentation and expensive at €18 per person. We went to a nearby cafe for half the price and far better quality. The only other observation and it may have been our position in the hotel, is noise on some nights. We were very close to the Cathedral Square […] where at nightime (early hours) not every night the local council decides to collect rubbish in large vehicles or deliver equipment to the square for an event next day.
