Residence San Niccolo' - Florence

No WiFi,, hotel on a busy corner and about 20-25 mins. from center of town. We booked at the last minute and had few reasonable price options, but next time I would not stay there.

I booked this hotel at at the last minute when we changed plans and it was a dream find. Right on the river in the old town area of Florence Italy, Between the old mint and the Uffizi.Easy walking to all of the best attractions. To my surprise our rooms included a bedroom, full bath, and a sitting room with a fully equipped kitchenette,couch and dining […] area. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and very clean. The AC worked well. Sylvia (manager) was warm and very helpful. She helped us find our way around and was quick to respond to our questions and requests. It is on a corner, so there is some traffic noise, but the lovely wooden shutters blocked out the noise so we slept easily. I would stay here again and will recommend it to friends and associates. This hotel suited us very well. We would likely use it again. The location was convenient both to major attractions as well as necessities such as grocery store, pharmacies , coffee bars. Our room was essentially a small apartment with stovetop and refrigerator. Authentic.

We enjoyed our stay at the Residence San Niccolo so much and would recommend it to anyone who wants to stay close to some major features without being in the middle of all the craziness! Mr. Paul was incredibly helpful and it provided us a home base from which to see many sites. It was close to all the major features of Florence, but on the edge of […] the action. The rooms were fabulous with large windows and nice furnishings. We were able to use the laundry after several days of travel and really appreciated all the help Mr. Paul offered as to local sites. He also had a cab waiting for us on our departure date at the exact time requested. It was right across from the river and plenty of places to escape some of the high-tourist traffic. I love this place! The location was perfect! It was right by the river and very close to the center of town. It was more like a small apartment than a hotel. There was a refrigerator and a stove. They would leave a basket full of goodies and tea bags for breakfast. They had utensils, tea cups and plates. Also a hair dryer and plenty of clean towels. Pros: Good value for the money. You get a kitchen and a BIG room (the biggest one on our European trip this time). The kitchen WILL help you reduce your expenses, especially if your stay is extended. Really great place to stay. The room was spacious and the self catering facilities were sufficient to rustle up a few different meals. the beds were comfortable and the hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful- they even printed out our tour reservations from an e-mail.

...Von einer stark befahrenen Strasse, mit zusätzlich grossem Parkplatz vor dem Zimmer, geht es direkt, ohne Durchgang etc., in das Wohnzimmer mit Küchenteil rein. Dies ist etwas gewöhnungbedürftig vorallem weil auf diesem Parkplatz immer irgendwelche dubiose Gestalten, sich ihren Lebensunterhalt mit Parkplatz einweisen verdienen... Wir hatten manchmal etwas Bedenken und fühlten uns vorallem nachts, wenn wir von einem Restaurantbesuch etc. zurückkamen, verunsichert... Es gibt im San Niccolo auch andere, sicherere Zimmer, alsso darauf achten, dass ihr nicht dieses ebenerdige "Strassenzimmer" bekommt. Unbedingt bei der Bestellung unter Bemerkungen angeben. Hôtel situé un peu en retrait du Centre historique. Nous avions l'appartement attenant à l'hôtel. La chambre était très petite, un côté du lit sur le mur, l'autre à une distance de 80 cm du mur. Bra beliggenhet og rommet er rent hverdag vi var der. Resepsjonist er veldig hyggelig. Litt støy hvor rommet vårt ligger (foran rundkjøringen og elva) men vi sover for det. Sem comentários, horrível em todos os sentidos. Antigo, sujo e sem conforto nenhum. Internet wi-fi e com fio não existem. Et helt greit hotell sentralt i Firenze. Ingen resepsjon, men et kontor hvor man kunne ringe på. Store rom, fullt utstyrt med kjøkken. Den kontinentale frokosten var derimot ikke å skryte av. Noen pakker med kjeks og to små kakestykker i plast. To smørpakker og litt syltetøy. Pulverkaffe og teposer. Som ellers i Italia, fryktelig harde senger.

Hotellet lå cejligt centralt til centrum og tæt på løberuter langs Arno. Der var god plads i lejligheden og dejligt med thekøkken med mulighed for selv at tilberede mad. God service fra hotellet ift. brug af vaskemaskine og tørretumbler. Kedelig morgenmad indpakket i plast.

Ho soggiornato all'Hotel S.Niccolo' prima di Pasqua per 4 notti e l'ho trovato molto comodo e confortevole. La posizione e' eccellente: sul fiume, a 15 minuti a piedi dagli Uffizi e dal centro citta' e facilmente raggiungibile con la macchina in quanto appena fuori dal centro storico e vicino ad importanti strade di accesso alla città. Comodissmo l'uso […] della cucina: si puo' anche cucinare in casa perchè c'è tutto quello che serve: pentole, piatti, bicchieri, tovaglia, strofinaccio, frigorifero... Unici appunti da fare: 1) il box doccia e' troppo stretto! Un uomo piuttosto corpulento secondo me non riesce neanche ad entrarci; 2) i prodotti di cortesia nel bagno ci sono stati forniti solo la prima notte; 3) non abbiamo trovato alcun cestino di benvenuto; 4) le merendine offerte per la colazione per due giorni erano scadute (anche se da poco); 5) la pulizia nel bagno non era proprio eccezionale.....ma poteva andare. Per il resto, lo consiglio vivamente per il rapporto qualita'/prezzo (considerando che parliamo dell'italia e non di Europa) e per la gentilezza del custode. P.S. Se riuscite a capire come e' regolato il parcheggio con strisce bianche a Firenze (i cartelli che ne regolamentano la fruzione gratuita sono per me incomprensibili) intorno all'albergo ci sono varie possibilità di parcheggio ANCHE SUL LUNGARNO SOTTO ALLE FINESTRE DELL'HOTEL!!! Si potrebbe, pertanto, evitare il costo di Euro 10,00 peraltro accettabile rispetto ad altre realtà fiorentine. Read more

non si puo' catalogare un 4 stelle ad un 2 stelle . un 4 stelle e' sinonimo di pulizia e servizi tutto quello che questo hotel non ha. senza personale, senza aoll, senza salone per colazione o cene e senza niente. cercatevi un hotel una stella almeno risparmiate e avete gli stessi risultati.

Wenn man sich vom ersten Eindruck (Wohnung Parterre zum Hinterhof; Eingangstür mit Stacheldraht etc.) nicht beeeindrucken läßt durchaus zu empfehlen. Sehr freundlich und sauber. Gut Gelegen - nahe St. Croce (5 Min), direkt am Arno und auf der anderen Flußseite das schöne Gelände um San Miniato und Piazza Michelangelo.

The Residence San Niccolo' is on the Arno banks just 20 meters from the ZTL (Limited Traffic Zone). Those reaching Florence by car will appreciate the easy access by car, the private parking and the fact that all tourist spots are located at walking distance (no need to use the car during your stay). The apartments are usually composed of 2 rooms, one living room with kitchen and sofa that can be transformed in bed and a comfortable bedroom. The kitchen is provided with the breakfast facilities and food, the "Italian Way" (milk, fruit juices are in the fridge and a choice of packed croissants, cookies, jam is available on the table and refilled daily). The kitchen is supplied with pots so to allow the integration with something that you are free to prepare by yourself. Laundry machine and drier are available free of charge for the guests. Beware that Internet is available only on dial-up. The access code and number is provided at the reception.
